    Dear all,

i desperately need some help, hopefully a respected surgeon can help me in this matter, or someone who experienced what i do now. . My first hair transplant i had 2,5 years ago, 2200 grafts on the frontal area: that one failed because my transplants where falling out after 7 , 8 months ago untill the point my hair situation was almost worse then before the hair restoration. I blamed it on the surgeon at that time. He was ignorant of possible causes. I figured it was poorly done / bad luck and had another surgery like 9 months ago, some 1000 grafts to restore the frontal area. With another surgeon. Much to my distress i ve noticed my transplanted hair is thinning again! The rest of my head is ok, maybe a bit of shedding because its summer but nothing disturbing. After some decent growth for about 7 months its rapidly falling out again. My current surgeon is fague about the causes, sais its probably stress related and saying i should get propecia. Now he is ignoring me after i reached out to him again that my situationnis worsening. Really frustrating!

the thing is, i am wondering if its me. Could it be a strong form of Aga in the recipient area? Could it be hormonal? I do suffer from chronic fatigue due to a burnout. I got this for 2 years now unfortunately. Can that be the cause? I am eating healthy , excercise otherwise.

to sum up: transplants are falling out again for the second time after 7 or 8 months of growth. Please help.

That is very disheartening, for sure. Keep us posted.

    Folks,

Apologies for loosing track of this thread as I got occupied with other things in life. I would post some pictures soon.

Almost 11 months have passed since my surgery . Everything is looking fine. My hair have grown well and has completely changed my front look. Only little downside I faced is thin donor on the back but I am fine with that considering how much of a difference it has made on my front look.

Now I think that it is time that I should start focusing on mid scalp and crown area and would schedule personal consultation with doctor  to see what are my options (BHT....May be if possible??).

Please share if some of you came across certain threads related to body hair transplantation, and if that is a reliable option.

    Great, would love some pics.

I know your donor was terrible from the git-go.

Beard hairs are pretty good. And not trying to high jack but Dr. Devroye posted a result using pubic hair recently, which I thought was pretty interesting.

A bit of a change yes, though it is a subtle one, being only 32 grafts.  They definitely did grow as I saw them come out all wiry at the start.

The doc put them in at his own choice

I only think about the crown now but have been fortunate to secure a slot to address it in early 2020.  His FUE was such a walk in the park it is hard not to resist!

I love it, you are "almost" cured.

    Your hair looks Great.

I'm gonna just give him free reign also, let him work his magic.

    Thanks for answering me.

Normally one of the technicians stands next to the Doc/tech with a hand held tally clicker, or whatever they use,  and counts every time he/she makes an incision. The same applies with extraction process I think. So this should tally up with the number of grafts previously extracted. Obviously if the Doc is using the implanter pen method, then as long as there are no grafts left in the Petri dishes, you’re pretty much guaranteed that all the grafts have been planted.😂👍

    Hope this helps.

That's the way it was for me.

    Looks really good, congrats!!!

(((  Iam very happy that i put myself through this process, No regrets, the results i got, restored that gut wrenching feeling we all know about, (when we start seeing our ugly scalp in the reflection of the mirror), back to a feeling of satisfaction and confidence...I love not really thinking or worrying about my front hairline receding any more, and that feels great.

Its true what Dr. G and others have stated, IT TAKES MORE THAN A YEAR....iam just now still seeing visible thickening and maturing and naturalizing of the transplanted hair. I would also caution people about shock loss, as i experienced ALOT of shock loss, and it took a long long time to grow back. )))

    I will second this ^^^^

I was always Happiest once the 2 yr mark rolled around.

At that point everything was grown in, thickened, normalized and finally totally natural looking.

Thank you for your comment and query.

So far, I have used pubic grafts mainly to restore eyebrows. Sometimes, to restore beard or sideburns.

Given the weaker nature of pubic grafts, it's not always easy to extract them; however, if transection is avoided, they provide a good yield.

I frequently use beard grafts to fill in the scalp. Pubic hair could help, if necessary.

Thank you for the reply and answers.

    Very interesting.

Oh, I wasn't precise with back. That photos is from six months after the last transplant. Here are some present photos. I believe, they have taken too many grafts. When they performed the transplantation, they were were supposed to take 3000, but only took 2400. They didn't really give a good explanation.

There is a photo of my left side, that is untouched. I tried to "scramble" it a bit, so you can see it better.

Donor looks decent in those pics, choose your next doc wisely.
