  1. I believe Erdogan can provide higher dense packing than Rahal, although its debatable if going for the max is more effective (i.e. more grafts fighting for blood supply). If you have the donor supply then why not go for the maximum and guarantee the result. Hasson is another surgeon effective at getting the max number of grafts and therefore should be able to provide the dense packing you want. At the end of the day, your starting point should be who can get you with the most number of grafts, and then how much dense packing they will provide. Obviously more grafts can get you the dense packing you want.

I would therefore recommend Hasson for FUT and Erdogan for FUE

  2. Yup Feriduni and Bisango are both in Belgium. I suspect Bisango is better known for FUE, and Feriduni may be as well, but I would still keep Feroduni on our top listing due to his hairlines, and remove Bisango completely from the tier 2 list. If we were talking FUE, then diff story

  3. Can anyone recommened a good strip surgeon that can add good desmity to the hairline in SoUthern California?

From what i have read on post etc the trico closure is the best closure for the strip metheod, the trico closure is almost invisible from what i have read?

Thanks everyone im a newbie here ?

Honestly, it's a huge mistake to limit yourself to a particular state. I made that mistake, and ended up using a tier 2 surgeon. Rather plan to travel and go with one of the best of the best strip surgeons in the world, which are (drum drum):

    Dr Victor Hasson

    Dr Ron Shapiro

    Dr Rahal

    Dr Feriduni

    Dr Konior

The best part of it, you don't even need to take my word for it, if you do your homework and research research research - then you should come up with the same list. Now picking one of the 5 ...... That's a whole different story

  4. I've just consulted with most of the Cali's list above, and must admit that there is really not much separating Hasson from Konior from Rahal from Dr Shapiro. Dr Feriduni's mega long waitlist of 9 or so months eliminated him, and Dr Konior was marginally the most expensive which eliminated him (I know I know I know - he places the majority of the grafts himself).

    And then there were three......

  5. This is an older thread, but the consensus for top FUT surgeons seems to be:

    Shapiro in MN

    Konior in CHicago

    Hasson & Wong in Vancouver

    Rahal in Ottawa

    Bisanga in Brussels

Then you have some that are arguably in or close to this group...

    Gabel in Portland, OR

    Feller

    Arocha

Then after that it seems to be a bunch of JAGs (Just Another Guy). Now, I know there are still some good surgeons out there (Path in Bangkok for example), but the title of this thread is "best."

That's what I've gleaned from this site, anyways.

Your list is great, although I would switch Bisanga with Feriduni. Also would specify Shapiro as Dr Ron Shapiro. I would also limit H&W to Dr Hasson and place Dr Wong in the 2nd tier listing. That's just me though.

  6. Hey buddy,

Based on hours and hours of research, I would recommend either Feriduni of Belgium or Erdogan of Turkey. These two along with Lorenzo seem to be the gold standard in FUE and are producing killer results. Erdogan if you want to be aggressive with the dense packing, and Feriduni for the hairline. Feriduni has a wait list of around 9 months which says it all. Lorenzo's hairline tends to be too high. I'm sure others will add alternative names to the list, but these are my top 3. And before Busa jumps all Over my back, consider Maras as well.

  7. Thank you so much Dr. Feller. Great video and very informative. It blows my mind how many HT patients view not having a linier scar as more important to them than maximizing their lifetime donor supply. Maybe it just is miss information, but I would absolutely prefer to preserve and use every single available donor graft over my lifetime. An extra 2,000 or so lifetime grafts by going with strip makes a significant difference to me. If that means a smiley face on the back of my head later on in life when I eventually have to shave down, then by G-d so be it, I'll take it. I just had an online consultation with a European surgeon for my 2nd procedure (1st procedure was FUT) and he actually said that he would prefer to perform FUE in my case so he can "cherry pick" the exact number of singles, doubles, & trebles as well as eliminate the increased risk of a new scar stretching from FUT as it would be my 2nd strip. I am thinking about sending this "coalition" surgeon the link to your video when I reply to politely decline. Other HT surgeons have all stated I have ample donor supply for a 2nd strip procedure.

  8. Which surgeon did you select? Did he not provide you with any pre-op instructions? If not then it's a very bad sign my friend.

I believe you can stay on Fin through the surgery, and in reviewing some of the top ht surgeon pre-op instructions not one of them state you have to go off Fin. Minox seems to vary as to when you stop this. The majority say a week to a few days before surgery. I believe H&W and Rahal recommend to go off Minox 4 weeks prior.

  9. I know the argument against a dense hairline is preserving donor hair for later potential transplants. My issue is that my dad and both my grandfathers had high hairlines but never went totally bald (norwood 2-3). I've essentially had a high hairline with widow's peak since I was a teenager. It really hasn't changed much and I'm 35 now.

Of course I may have a different hair loss pattern to them but I would like a relatively dense hairline reconstruction. It's down to Erdogan, Bisanga and Bhatti. Part of the narrowing was due to timing issues. These three surgeons would be able to operate in the only month this year I can get a 2 week period off.

I do appreciate further input as I'm having trouble narrowing further.

I have to vote for Erdogan on this. I have spent the last quarter of a year staring at photo after photo of a significant number of HT results from different surgeons. Even though I only recently started focusing on the European surgeons, I have to say Erdogan is producing some absolutely brilliant results. He does seem to overcompensate with extra grafts, but if you have the donor supply, then why not, especially as it will guarantee you the wow factor. Why wouldn't you want to bang the prom queen on prom night???I have to admit, I'm not super excited about the other two as I am with other surgeons. They are both solid, but Erdogan and Feriduni stand out to me based on the pictures I have studied. Seeking I've already started with FUT, once I max out my strips, I will eye out Erdogan or Feriduni in the future to finish me off.

  10. In general utilizing this site for research prior as to opposed to after your procedure is more useful. Regardless, I hope you get the result that you are expecting and if down the road you are considering another procedure and or clinic, spend some considerable time here first to learn as much as possible about your options.

    Well said!!!!

  11. Yes I agree with you that there are thousands and thousands of diff HT practices producing killer results. However, there are also thousands and thousands of clinics producing less than satisfactory results, as well as many butchering patients heads. If I am going to entrust my head and a limited lifetime donor supply of grafts to a stranger, i damn well want to ensure that it is almost guaranteed that I will get a stellar result. No way in hell I am going to risk something like this. I went with a recommended coalition HT surgeon for my 1st procedure who definitely isn't one of the top of the top, and my result was okay. I regret not having gone with one of the top 5, and will be correcting that mistake when I go for my second procedure with one of the best.

If you want to go with an unknown, by all means go for it, but ask yourself ... Do I feel lucky punk...

  12. I'd be cautious. See what happened with Sean (diff thread) who was one of Rahal's 1st patients when he started offering FUE? I would rather wait for H&W to season for a bit with FUE, remember all the technicians and support staff need to learn and gain experience with this different technique. It's not just the surgeon. No doubt they will be producing knock-out results in the futurelike they do with FUT - but I would imagine there will be a learning curve and I would suggest letting them demonstrate 1st. Rather go with the surgeons in Turkey and Belgium for FUE. Erdoken, Bisanga and Feriduni are producing some knockout FUE results at a fraction of the price the U.S. surgeons charge.

  13. Saw Dr. Rahal yday. He examined again and acknowledged . Facial framing/hairline design concerns, temporal issues, density/yield issues, and donor issues were discussed and are to be addressed going forward. To address concerns he did say it looks to be [/u]at least[/u] another 1500 grafts.

I haven't really cut or faded my hair with short clippers on the sides. This is due to some noticable donor halo where extractions were concentrated. You can still see it in longer length but doctor suggested two workarounds for it that can be done to remedy situation with donor.

He did mention alternatives approaches/treatments and facilities to remedy my concerns and to see how to proceed. At the end of the day, i just want what i went to get a restoration for in the first place without any added tension. This is also Based on the results and goals i showed, including those of patients whose results were highlighted from marketing materials, advert/social media. This has been a very hectic journey so far. It isn't an easy task to get multiple surgeries when your paid time off is used and taken away from your family vacation time. Surgery itself is tiring and stressful. Another thing that can do a number on you is the waiting periods/time towards my restoration goal, to be free and able to move forward. I've been reasonably waiting for quite some time. I am now going on 33 hoping to enjoy a future without hair concerns, hopefully sometime soon.

As a war Veteran, this is very important to me. I will be looking forward to finalizing plan of action soon to see what to do. Dr Rahal provided options and said he is willing to make sure all my concerns are addressed.

By the way, for the many folks that kept emailing/skyping to ask me questions and tell me they were reconsidering not using DR Rahal due to ARTAS robot concerns, he no longer uses it. He uses a motorized punch and few months ago, he upgraded to a newer one that his clinic seems to be satisfied with. Regarding the punch, you can ask his clinic more about it. So his surgeries are performed by humans, not robots. Hope that clears any confusion.

Thanks for the update bud, hang in there. If you could redo this over, what would you have done differently and which surgeon would you go with?

  14. Sorry for hi-jacking this thread I was unable to open my own thread. apologises. I am just wondering if anyone could tell me how many grafts they reckon i may need? dr marwan saifi estimated 2500. dr hakan doganay 4000 and freiduni 2800- 3500 with a second transplant need in hes opinion. Any advice greatly appreciated?

    I vote Feriduni

  15. Hi,

I was wondering if you decided to go with HairPalace in the end?

I'm also considering them, but it's hard to make a decision when there aren't almost any reviews of that clinic online...

Fact that there aren't almost any reviews of that clinic online should make your decision an easy slam dunk ......

My advice is to go with a renowned surgeon.

  16. Both along with Konior and Gabel appear to be excellent choices as long as you are ok with having a chunk of flesh hacked off the back of your head.

Thanks buddy, I did consider Konior as well. Very very impressed with his work. There is really nothing separating these top surgeons, so it's tough to choose.
