Thank you for your post. Women are good candiates as long as the have realistic expectations and good donor area. Women typically have diffuse hair and have good success stopping further loss using laser therapy. We typically have them on laser for 6months to a year to stop the progression and then use transplants to rectify the problem. If a woman has diffuse loss all over than she is not a candidate for hair transplants. Carly Klein

Our patient came to us struggling with hair loss for the last 15 years. She first noticed it in the crown and it slowly receded more towards the front hairline and temples. In this surgery Dr. Shelly Friedman was able to transplant 3,175 grafts for this female patient. 600 single hairs were transplanted in the anterior hairline bilaterally and in the temples bilaterally. 2,575 follicular units were transplanted in the bilateral posterior mid scalp, bilateral vertex, bilateral anterior vertex, and bilateral posterior vertex. The patient is extremely satisfied with her results and will be returning for a second surgery in the future.

Patient was a Norwood class V when he came in. Patient wanted to have the frontal area filled in. Dr. Friedman explained that with the amount of loss that he had typically requires 2 surgeries to get more density. Dr. Friedman extrapolated 2,514 grafts. 951 single hairs placed in the anterior hairline bilaterally and the temples bilaterally. 1,563 follicular units were placed in the bilateral posterior hair line and bilateral frontal region. Patient is very happy with his results and looking forward to his next procedure.

25 year old patient had been troubled by a high forehead and receding hairline for 5 years. Patient had lost a considerable amount of hair. Dr. Friedman told him his first procedure would make a big improvement, but patient most likely need to come back for a second procedure to add density. Dr. Friedman transplanted 1200 single hairs and 1,072 follicular units using custom made blades to re-create the hair line. He placed the hair in the anterior hair line bilaterally and in the anterior temple bilaterally. The patient likes to wear his hair short and was thrilled with the results of the Trichophytic suture method Dr. Friedman used. A 30 year old female patient came to us with concerns of her “high forehead” and wanted to lower her hair line. Dr. Friedman told the patient it is a 2 surgery process. The first procedure would make a big improvement, but patient most would come back for a second one for more density. Dr. Friedman transplanted a total of 1725 grafts lower her hairline. Dr. Friedman uses custom made blades to dense pack in the frontal area. Dr. Friedman placed 1050 single hairs in the anterior hairline bilaterally and anterior temples bilaterally. Patient’s results seen here are at ten months post-op. Patient is very happy with the results and has booked her 2nd surgery to complete the process.

Patient came to us from Florida wanting to update his look after getting a new syndicated radio show that would be highly publicized. Dr. Friedman was able to transplant 3,712 grafts. 900 single hairs were placed in the anterior hairline bilaterally and the temples bilaterally. 2,812 follicular units were placed bilaterally in the front region, bilateral mid-scalp, and bilateral vertex. Patient came in as a Ludwig 2 evolving 3. Patient had tried topicals to stop hair loss and continued to lose additional hair. We put patient on laser therapy that she can do home based to stop further loss and Rogaine to use as a vaso dilator. Dr. Friedman transplanted 2,200 grafts, 300 single hairs in the anterior hairline bilaterally and the anterior temples. 1,900 follicular units were placed bilaterally parietal and bilateral posterior occipital. Dr. Friedman used the trichopytic closure method to ensure that there was no visible scar. Patient is thrilled with results so far and is looking forward to her 2nd procedure to fill in density. Patient has noticed that laser therapy has thickened up existing hair and the shedding has significantly slowed down.

23 year old male came in to see Dr. Friedman due to the loss in the frontal area and temples. Patient had started thinning at age 19. This was really affecting him since he graduated college and had gotten a new job at a corporate office. Dr. Friedman used his dense packing technique using the custom made blades to recreate his hairline. The team used 800 single hairs to re-create the natural look of a transition from forehead to hair line. 732 follicular units were placed in the temporal area and in the front mid-scalp. Dr. Friedman used the trichophytic closure on patient; patient can shave his head using a one in a half blade with no visibility to a scar. Patient is thrilled with his hair line and the results so far. His hair line should be much thicker in another 6 months.

Patient came in the a receding hair line and some loss in the crown. Great hair being it was salt and pepper and good density. Patient came in wanting his frontal area filled in. Patient was tired of pulling the hair over to hide the loss. Patient has excellent results and is thrilled with the results. Dr. Friedman used custom made blades and his artistic ability to recreate his hairline. Dr. Friedman placed 900 single hairs were placed in the hair line. 2,329 follicular units were placed in the front region and bilaterally placed in the mid-scalp.

Dr. Friedman had the joy of seeing his patient from over 20 years ago. Patient first saw Dr. Friedman 1991, where the patient had multiple surgeries of the next few years. Each surgery was a few hundred at a time. Between the ages of 25-29 we are very selective of who we do a transplant on in the crown area. When the hair is wet it was alot thinner,to your point he doesn't need much in the area. 3,000 grafts can go along way! Thanks for the feed back!

Yes, he will be coming in for a second one. We like to wait a year on Propecia to see if it is working for the patient. We would hate to waste grafts in the crown if he will have future loss in the frontal area. Now that we know that Propecia is affective for him we will plan his next procedure.

28 year old male experiencing hair loss for 6 years. Patient started to experience hair loss in the temporal area then gradually started to thin in the mid scalp. Patient started a year ago Propecia to stop further hair loss. Dr. Friedman redesigned his hair line using 900 single hairs in the anterior hairline bilaterally. Female patient concerned with her thin eye brows and came into to fill in. Patient also was experiencing some thinning in the temporal area. Dr. Friedman placed 421 grafts in the left brow and 376 grafts in the right brow. Left temple 253 grafts were placed and right temple 340 grafts were placed. Patient was surprised that the surgery was virtually painless. Dr. Friedman used the tricophytic closure which delivers nearly invisible donor scar. This will ensure the patient can wear her hair in a ponytail or a formal up-do and never have a visible scar. Patient will be coming back in, in 4months to review with us the results.
