  1. I reckon my ugly duckling stage was the 6 bald years before my op cause I'm no Mona Lisa but joking aside, I would say mine lasted about 3 weeks after shedding. I was lucky in that I had a skin head (shaved) before so it wasn't so noticeable to those around me and I didn't shed much probably only about 30% but I did get some mild pimples in that time and those were definately ugly!! It will soon pass matey
  2. Thanks mate, I'm still in shock it came out so good myself! No meds for me, I know I obviously went ahead with cosmetic surgery but as a rule I'm quite holistic and try to look after myself as much as I can (not the typical builder!)...so I don't like taking meds if I don't have to, even paracetamol! I was worried that I wouldn't get as good a result as some of the guys I have seen on here who have med routines, but I took lots of advice from the clinic I used who were great in giving me lots of detailed info re plus and negatives of taking meds and I think I made the right decision for me. How are you getting on with your recovery? Which clinic did you use? Hope it's going well for you pal
  3. Thanks JPE22 - I did receive your pm...8 times it must just delay, not surprising cause this site is sooooooo slow now! I've messaged you back matey.
  4. Hi guys Had to share this pic the Mrs took pre-hair cut, I know it's not the best style but thought it showed the progress well in comparison to my old self (also attached!)
  5. I agree with this - from my research it is common for surgeons not to be present the entire time (even Harley Street docs in London), and many that claim to be aren't in reality. At least they are being open with you about that cause a lot of Doctors aren't. I agree that the research of that surgeon's work is a key factor just as much as whether he will be present or not cause as the above says, he is the leader of that surgical team. This was a worry I had myself and is something you can't be definite about until the procedure is finished. I was lucky that my surgeon was present throughout, although he did the majority of the procedure, there were definitely times that he was instructing his team on what to do and was watching them work. I wouldn't run a mile I would just do more research into that clinic and results.
  6. Thanks mate! Haha, anytime re the bricklaying although you should be an expert after watching my vid!
  7. Hi guys, 7 month pics attached.....I'm even trying to rock a goatie for Movember
  8. Here is the link to my vid, hopefully it shouldn't get removed
  9. Hey guys, in case you are interested in seeing how I looked before in motion, I posted a video 2 years ago on Youtube called "How to build a brick wall (bricklaying)" - If you type that in it's the first video that comes up. I'm a builder (hopefully you can tell from the video!) and I got a really good response with that video so I'm going to do some more building vids and when I do I'll post on here so you can see the difference in motion
  10. Thanks dude! I do smile a lot now...my wife was happy at first and she loves the new look but I think she wishes I'd stop banging on about it!
  11. Thanks matey! Are we allowed to say how much it costs on here? No not Dr Eser, she's the lady right? I contacted her first after seeing a blog on here but I never got a reply. I heard she is doing mostly female cosmetic surgeries so I guessed that's why she never replied. I had my consultation with 2 male surgeons, they discussed with me what they both thought was best for my hair line and then Dr Deniz did the procedure.
  12. Thanks Squatch, are you booked in and waiting or you already had a HT?
  13. Thanks David! Means a lot coming from a moderator as I know you must have seen thousands of results on here! I honestly still can't get over it myself some days. You see so many bad results and mess ups I feel really lucky to have a good result so far and it just keeps getting better month on month. I'm thinking of what else I can have done now!
  14. Some 6 month images taken 3 days ago....what do you guys think?
  15. Hi all Just got back from having my hair cut so took the opportunity get take some 4 month pics. It's so good to be able to wear my hair in a style after having a shaven head for 20 years! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to shave my hair so close because of the donor, that was my major worry but it's not at all noticeable that I've had the op and nobody has even noticed! People keep asking me why I've shaved my head all these years and I was even told I look much more 'handsome' - bonus!! Any comments would be great, thanks guys
  16. Thanks London81, I'm definately feeling happier about the whole thing now, the last couple of months were tough! It was Health Travel International in Istanbul. They have English staff working from UK which was good for me cause I tend to ask lots of questions...about everthing! Thanks Voxman, I have only just gone back into my barbers recently and just had a scissors cut, that was the advice I got - do you think that will be ok?
  17. Hi all, I had a HT in Istanbul and I'm at 3 months - been really feeling the 'ugly duckling' stage, but starting to come out of it now thankfully! Seeing new hairs come through every day now and really excited Would be great to get your feedback on the pics as this forum really encouraged me to go ahead with the HT. I'll try to do an update once a month.
