Looks great! Nice work.

That's a very nice result indeed, I guess that the medications gave you a boost also.
congratulations. Enjoy!
Thanks ontop! Appreciate the constant support. Hope all is well buddy.

11 months on 8/18/16. So just 2-days shy. Happy with my results. I do notice a little bit of thinning behind the transplanted areas. I still am taking .25mg Finasteride daily and Kirkland Minoxidil foam 1x or 2x/day. I believe my crown area has improved. Attached are my before pics (from 2012) prior to any hair transplants and now.

I would go with pomade over gel that gives a matte finish. Check out the Redken or Aveda line. With pomade, it takes away the frizz but gives a clean/dry look which would in a way create an illusion of density.
I know you're sick of concealers and so am I, but what I do is apply pomade to my dry hair and then use Caboki. Add a little more pomade after and it usually turns out pretty well.

Who was your surgeon? Work does not look refined and your first pic may be folliculitis. Maybe check with your HT doctor?
-
Is that really the same guy 8 years later at 33 years old? I've noticed with people who get HT, white hair tends to pop up faster. I have no real evidence but just something I feel like I notice.
-
It would be best to ask your doctor directly so he can provide you with detailed answers

Thank you all for the feedback! I'll update this thread again around 9/10 months.

Great natural looking result. However, should this really be called a "scarless" closure?

Attached are my 8 month* post op pics. Hair still maturing and overall can't really complain. I'll try to get pics of my donor area soon. I do notice minor gaps in my hairline that I didn't really notice before but this could just be me over analyzing. If you scroll a few posts back you can see my pre op pics. Please let me know your thoughts!
*Header says 7 months, my mistake. These are my 8 month post-op pics.

Your only at 5 mths in & to be expected you would shed being you just had HT & back on meds.
I would say its all down hill for you from now on buddy.
Thanks all! Ontop, I hope you meant "uphill" not downhill
-
Looking good there buddy & you seem to be a fast grower also.
did Dr V give you a break down of your grafts?
Keep up your meds bro like your doing now.
Happy growing this is going to be a nice ending I feel.
im well happy for you.
Thank you all for your comments. Appreciate it!
ontop, here is my graft breakdown:
Final Count- 2510 grafts
1's. 840
2's. 1395
3's. 220
4's. 55
I've still been taking .25mg Propecia every other day along with 5% Rogaine foam 1x/day. Unfortunately, I feel like my crown has lost a tiny bit of ground but I have also noticed increased in shedding which hopefully means regrowth soon. I have probably been continuing this regimen for 5 months.
-
-
I would continue. Shedding is normal. In simple terms it's pushing out the old hair to bring in new, thicker hair. Propecia has the same effect so it's probably a combination of both. General consensus on here is to tough it out for at least 6 months before assessing. Good luck!

I'm sort of in the same boat as you. I'll be 5 months post-op next week and I'm also noticing uneven growth in the temples. My hairloss was somewhat minimal, mostly receded hairline and like you said, hairline looks very defined when out of the shower but my left temple is lagging in growth/density.
Good luck with the growth, I still believe 6 months is relatively early. Another half a year for some growth and much maturation to come.

Hey bud. Was wondering the same. I'm at 4 months / 1 week.
I'm estimating here, but I'd say roughly 75% of my hairs have sprouted to some degree. With 50% of those hairs being 1.5 inches long, but with weak density so far. The other 25% being a shorter length and flimsier.
The remaining 25% is the area where I have not seen the root push through yet. There's only one small area (about the size of an eyedrop) that is noticeably imbalanced so far.
Net/Net: I'm waiting for roughly 25% of my hairs to "show up" and 75% to grow and mature and become awesome.
I'm about 4.5 months post-op and experiencing the same. Density is adequate but still hoping for much more density/maturation. I'm also not really seeing any new hair sprout. Wishing the best for you guys.

Was this FUE or FUT, you mention both in your description. Regardless, nice natural result!
-
Work looks clean! Who exactly was the Doctor or was this mostly technician based?
-
Attached is my 4.5 month progress. I feel that my hairline is looking thicker and starting to fill in nicely in the area where it has grown. I do feel like there are a few gaps that are noticeable to me but maybe not to the untrained eye. Specifically my right temple area that you will see boxed off in pic #7. I hope this eventually fills in. Still some noticeable thinness in donor area, I'm hoping that resolves soon. Overall I am happy with my progress so far.
I have also been using rogaine (minoxidil 5%) 1x/day for about 2 months. I feel that might have made a slight improvement in my crown.
My comparison pics are comparing month 4.5 to month 3. I received my first haircut 2 weeks ago.

I don't understand how this is a good/acceptable result with 2700 grafts. As long as the patient is happy I guess?
-
Looks good, congrats!

It's completely normal to feel worse before you feel better. I also think its normal to have passing feelings of insecurity about going to such lengths, such as surgery.
But this isnt about enhancement, like an elective surgery for bigger boobs or liposuction to artifically improve your existing look. Its about maintenance. We were born with hair, we've lived with hair, it makes sense we'd want to keep our hair. Some seek perfection, but the vast majority just want their life back. Technology and medicine allows us to live longer. Why not live better?
I have more respect for people who take control of their lives than those who sit and suffer instead. There's nothing noble in that. I can think of countless friends who I know are suffering and can pay for the procedure but opt for inaction. You took control. Be proud of taking matters into your own hands.
Very well said and I completely agree with this.

Should this affect their recommendation on HTN? I believe Dr. Bloxham is probably an excellent surgeon and we will see that as results are posted. However, until then I don't know if we can just simply take Dr. Feller's word for it, even if everything he said is completely true. Just not how this works in my opinion.

Please take a look at my pic and tell me what kind of concealer you would use..
Its an area of 30cm2.
Ill have my final procedure in 2-3 years in my crown and i wanna see what FIN can do for now.
So i have to cover it with concealers for that time.
Toppik worked well in the past.
What do you think?
Based on your pic, which isn't the clearest, I would go with light application of light brown Couvre and then a light application of light brown Toppik/Caboki fibers (you could always order the trial size of the fibers if you need to experiment with colors)
