  1. Love Dr. Wesley. I got about the same number of grafts 2 1/2 years ago, and I couldn't be happier. He filled in my hairline and temple recessions, and also transplanted in areas of future loss. The procedure was painless and kinda fun. I did have a little temporary shock loss, but nobody but me seemed to notice. He posted my pictures on this site a while back. I trusted him the minute I met him, and the result is exactly what I was hoping for.
  2. Great work, Dr. Wesley! The hairline looks so natural and the overall effect is perfect. Hey wait a minute, that's me! I just want to say that I met with a few doctors in the New York City area, and Dr. Wesley was my clear first choice. He is smart. professional, caring, and committed. He understood my needs so well that I felt I could relax and just put my faith in his judgment and skill. Today, I look in the mirror and couldn't be happier. (Except, when did my face get so old?) I didn't want a dramatic change, and I didn't want to lower my hairline, just re-establish its present (but fading) position, and fortify areas of future loss. Dr. Wesley has more than met my expectations. The strip surgery was easy and painless, and the scar is virtually undetectable. I had a little temporary shock loss (see my 5-week picture), but still, through the entire process no one ever seemed to know that I had a transplant. (Apparently, nobody obsesses about my hair the way I do.) I understand that on these forums, people are most impressed by transplants that create a huge transformation from bald to a full head of hair. But in my case, the "wow factor" comes from how natural and appropriate the results are. (I can't say "age-appropriate" about myself because it makes me feel too old.) Thanks to Dr. Wesley and his wonderful staff. You're the best!
  3. I met with Bernstein, Dorin, and Wesley, and for me and my needs, Dr. Wesley was an easy choice. I couldn't be happier with my decision and my six-month results.
  4. You're welcome, Haberson. If you click onto my profile, you can read my "hair loss story," which will give some more details about my very positive experience with Dr. Wesley. You should do all your homework, meet with any doctors whom you are considering, and then trust your gut. This is obviously a very important choice, and you should make sure you have no regrets about your decision-making process.
  5. I just had HT by Dr. Wesley in December (2342 grafts - flat fee of $10,000), and so far, I couldn't be happier. Dr. Wesley and his wonderful staff are fantastic in every way!
  6. When I was 16, my brother pulled back my hair and said that I was going bald. I punched him in the stomach, told him that he was an idiot, and retreated to the bathroom to inspect my hair. At 20, I made a deal with God (in whom I don't really believe) that I would be happy if I didn't go bald until 30. At 30, I renegotiated with God (in whom I don't really believe) and he decided to slow, but not stop, my hair loss. At 40, I began to take Propecia. At 55, I was straight up Norwood III and decided it was time for a transplant. I researched this and similar websites and met with several highly recommended physicians. At 56, I had a hair transplant procedure by Dr. Carlos Wesley. I had a good feeling about Dr. Wesley even before I met with him. I liked what I saw on his website, and I liked what his patients had to say. I know that there has been some discussion as to whether he is too conservative, but this was never an issue for me because my needs were conservative. I was not looking to have a youthful densely packed hairline, I really just wanted to stabilize my receding hairline and fill in my thinning frontal third so that I never go bald. When I met with Dr. Wesley, I immediately knew that I had found my man. He is highly intelligent, but never arrogant or condescending. He clearly explained his perspective on the various issues, but was open to different points of view. Finally, he not only takes great pride in his work, but also takes great satisfaction in improving the lives of his patients. At 6:00 AM on December 19, 2013, I met with Dr. Wesley in his office, took some happy meds, and discussed the procedure. The day went exactly as advertised. It felt more like a day at a spa than a multi-hour surgery. There was zero pain. Dr. Wesley's wonderful team is professional, personable, and caring. They clearly have great respect for Dr. Wesley and for one another. At about 6:00, I went home, took an ambien, and passed out. Now 11 weeks later, I have gone through the usual ups and downs. At first I was so thrilled with my newly re-positioned hair that I didn't really mind the facial swelling and scalp itching, I was on a high. Then the transplanted hair started to fall out. And then there was the shock loss. (To me it looked horrible, but to my wife and friends, it was barely noticeable.) Intellectually, I knew this was all part of the journey, but emotionally, I was still a little bummed. Now, however, the loss has stopped, and early gain has begun. I am once again super optimistic about my future head of hair. I don't want to count my chickens before they're hatched, but I do count each newly sprouted hair every morning (and afternoon and evening) in the mirror. I am very grateful for the amazing advances in hair restoration, I am very grateful for the fantastic Dr. Wesley and his wonderful staff, and I am very grateful for the mysterious God (in whom I still don't really believe.)
