No medications.  I was doing rogain for a few months but didn’t notice anything.  What medications should I take?  Is there a doctor in Los Angeles you think is good for meds?  My understanding is meds could prevent further hair loss but I def want to fill in the sides where it’s really receded

Dr. Parsa Mohebi can give you a prescription. I got a script for 5mg of minoxidil there, you can also talk to Dr. Beham.

Cost and location are big factors I wont lie. Given that she actually does happen to be out of my budget and is the highest non-American quote I received so far for eyebrows.

I like that she does have good reviews from what I could find and her staff is very professional and she took the time out to talk to me personally. I like that she is ISHRS certified and also she confirmed to me that she does most of the procedure herself.

Another point is that she trained under and has vouches from Dr. Alex Ginzburg, Dr. Shapiro in Minnesota and Dr. William Rassman

If you feel comfortable with her, choose her, if you do get surgery with her please consider creating a review. That will help others researching.

Why gang up on me?  You’re ridiculous for being so ignorant!

I could have been nicer, I will own that, but I feel “extortionate” is a poor choice of wording. You’re not forced to pay or choose him. If it’s too much go elsewhere. There are Michelin star restaurants that charge for one meal what people pay in a month for groceries. That’s not extorting. Ferraris cost as much as a house. That’s not extorting.

The beauty of free markets is there’s always alternatives and someone else in your budget. Getting mad at a business and claiming their prices are extortionate isn’t right. If you think it’s a rip off, fair enough. Remove him off your list and move on.

What is extortionate? You don't have to go, someone else will.

Exactly, this is a ridiculous post. He’s a private business in a free market. Imagine going to a Ferrari dealer and claiming the price is “extortionate” 🤦🏻‍♂️

I remember you said this and thought it was interesting. I met Dr Sever in person last week and despite having had 3,555 FUE grafts taken out already (just like you!), he said to me that he could "easily get 4,000 grafts" from a strip surgery in my case, plus I'd still be able to have FUE as well (and I'd be a good beard graft candidate as my head hair is naturally more coarse so matches beard better). In my case he doesn't want to do strip yet as it's not needed. He wants to do 1500 grafts to bolster the midscalp and reinforce the frontal third and also wants to extract around 150 or grafts from the hairline as he thinks it's a bit too linear and needs more irregularities. He said my donor was "great", which was a relief!

It's nice to get good hair news, but thought it was worth sharing to show how estimates and considerations can vary a lot between from the same doctor seeing different patients.

Indeed, surgery should be tailored to the individual. I do believe your situation is different from @GeneralNorwood I would not consider you a repair. I wouldn’t recommend strip for general. I agree with Dr. Muresanus assessment.

I've been to a hair transplant surgeon last year, but I do not respect his opinion because he all he did was walk in the room for about one minute and look at the streaks of missing hair and conclude "DUPA". He did not bother to use a tricoscope or any device to assess my donor. I think he was one of the guys who doesn't believe seborrheic dermatitis can cause diffuse hair loss. By the way this was the son of Dr. Bernard Nausbaum in Miami who is also a transplant surgeon.

I live in Miami, so I emailed Dr. Jeffrey Epstein and from these pictures, he said my donor did look thin, but that I would have 5000 grafts. He said he doesn't perform microscopic assessment of donor but offered to use his magnifier loupes. This was this morning. I'm not sure if I should consult with him.

Are magnifier loupes a good measure for donor assessment?

They do show miniaturization. There’s another doctor. Dr. Moncada, he does consultations in Miami.
