  1. Hey guys! I'm wondering if anyone has every had an HT where they have not used rogaine following their procedure? I haven't used propecia at all in my life. The doctor told me I should use rogaine to help speed the growth of my grafts but they would still grow if I decided not to use rogaine. Has anyone had an HT without using rogaine and had good results? I'm told it happens quite often. I decided not using rogaine because I didn't want to be dependent on it for the rest of my life. i'm just around 3.5 months post op and I do see little hairs sprouting. Any help/input would be appreciated. Thanks fellas!
  2. Thank you, my friend! I hope it all goes well in the end. I'm really looking forward to the coming months. Good luck with everything and if you have any questions or concerns, this is a great site to get some answers, or in your situation, some reassurance. It would be great if you could start a thread after your procedure so you can document your results. I will be updating mine every 2 months. Cheers!
  3. I can see why you would be scared. But I only saw 3 bad reviews of which 1 was about not honouring a 61% discount (which is ridiculous). He didn't mention anything about his work or anything. The other one claims Dr. Rahal is terrible and that he messed him his transplant. (no pictures or no link to any thread where he can prove it). He also mentions something about a marketing manager pushing him to make a video? I was NEVER pushed to make any decisions nor was I pushed to make any videos. He says in "good conscience, I can't keep quiet". So in good conscience, why couldn't you post any pics to prove yourself? Makes you wonder....And the third guy claims he messed his head up at age 21 and now he's lost more hair at the age of 26......hair loss is progressive, especially if you are getting a HT at the young age of 21. (Again, no pcitures) And apparently, according to him, Dr. Rahal is no where to be found? LOL....He can be contacted very easily. He also gives you his cell number in case of emergency following your procedure. All the rest of the reviews are great and praise his great work and excellent ethics. Take it from someone who has actually experienced it, you are in great hands buddy. You will see for yourself. When is your procedure anyway?
  4. Hey, Solonghair. I tried clicking that link but it says "cannot be found". I recently had my 2579 FUE procedure with Dr. Rahal. My experience with him and his staff was excellent. They took great care of me and I did not get the impression that they rushed it in any way. I don't have any post op complications and I never have. I don't work for them nor do I represent Rahal in any way. You wanted to here something from someone who has got their procedure done by Rahal and so I decided to respond. Hope it calms you down a bit. Here is a link to my thread, I am currently just over 3.5 months post-op. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/172553-my-new-2579-fue-hair-transplant-dr-rahal.html
  5. Hey Vizon I was looking at anything PAI related and came across this......kinda scary. Home Page I know that this is not in Indy but still same company. By the way, are you a colts fan? I am!
  6. Thanks, Yaz! Good luck to you, my friend! I have a question, are you on any meds? Propecia, rogaine? I'm just curious because I don't use anything. I was worried about any side effects so I decided not to even bother. My hair loss doesn't look too bad. I'm 28 but have never been on any meds, thats pre and post op. Anyone's input would be appreciated. Thanks guys!
  7. I completely agree with Jay and Mickey. Don't rush into it. Get a few consultations from well known and reputable Doctors before you take the plunge. Don't only think about the price, you don't want to end up regretting it, especially at such a young age. If you need to travel, than so be it. Take your time, research and be patient. Make a wise decision when considering a hair transplant. Just read about all the horror stories people post. Good luck with everything man. P.S...the fact that they said you have to get back to them by tomorrow tells me enough. It is very unethical. I wouldn't go with them. I've never heard of this place to be honest.
  8. Thanks, Scooter! Hopefully I get good results. I have my fingers and follicles crossed! hehehe
  9. Hey guys. It's just been a little over 3.5 months. Here is my progress so far, I've included some pre-op photos from the clinic. I am not on any meds and I haven't used rogaaine. FYI...the 3.5 month pics are taken with my Iphone 4 with flash. Some input would be appreciated. Thanks guys!
  10. what is FUG? And how was the Doc able to cover so much space with only 2200 grafts? It looks really dense from the pictures.
  11. Hey Yaz89! I'm 3 months and 2 weeks post op. I'm out of the ugly duckling stage! I've been reading your posts, good luck and happy growing! I had my procedure done by Dr. Rahal in Ottawa. 2579 grafts FUE.
  12. I beg to differ but that's just me. I'm not trying to upset anyone, I'm only giving my honest opinion.
  13. Did I once say "confidence will get you any girl"? No. I said chicks dig confidence. Confidence in yourself has to last 24hrs a day. There are plenty of girls who would agree that confidence is a trait that attracts them. Unless the man is hideous, I'm sure confidence and a great personality will go a really long way. It all starts and ends with you, my friend. Love yourself. I'm sure you're a great person. Good luck!
  14. Hey man. In all honesty, if you don't want to have that scar on the back of your head, I'd just bite the bullet and shave your head. I'm not a professional but I think it would be difficult to get the results you want by FUE. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it would be considered a "Mega Session". Maybe talk to one of the well know Doctors on this site and see what they think but in my opinion, don't go through with it. I know I may sound like a hypocrite but my hair loss wasn't as far progressed as yours is (maybe a N3) and I'm 28. I underwent my procedure 3 months ago with Dr. Rahal for 2579 grafts and I'm just getting out of the ugly duckling stage. (Damn was it hard!) Things are looking pretty decent, I guess I'm right on track. To be completely honest, and I may get scrutinized for this, but don't do it. Just start to work out, eat healthy and live a healthy lifestyle. Shave your head and just live your life to the fullest and stop being anti-social! It's detrimental to your health physically, mentally and emotionally. Don't waste any more time worrying about your hair, it won't do you any good. Nothing beats a healthy mind and body. I don't mean lose a couple of pounds, I mean get an extreme physical makeover. You'd be AMAZED at what a healthy lifestyle would do to your depression. By the sounds of it you seem a little depressed, is that a fair assumption? I know it's a difficult time when you break up with your girlfriend, I can relate, take my word for it. You start to get all depressed and question your appearance or wonder if you'll ever find another girl. You will, TRUST me. Just do yourself a HUGE favour and get yourself out of this slump! Once you get out of this slump and you get in great shape, you will exude confidence. Chicks dig confidence! I know the baldest guys who have the HOTTEST wives/girlfriends because they are confident! My brother is 21 and he is balding pretty badly for his age but he doesn't care at all. He could be hiding his true feelings about his hair loss but I highly doubt it. He is extremely social and he couldn't care less what people think about his appearance. He is, mind you, a Varsity wrestler here in Canada and is in excellent shape. At the end of the day it's all up to you but if you wanted an honest and sincere opinion, I just gave it to you. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do. Regards, Rob
  15. Dude, you're tripping out HARDCORE! LOL....you have absolutely no signs of MPB. Stop thinking about it or it will all fall out!!!
  16. ZeeMAn I am not on any meds. I don't take Propecia and I am not using Rogaine. Dr. Rahal told me that my hair would still grow even if I don't use rogaine. My regimen consists of healthy eating, daily exercise and some natural vitamins and mineral supplements. I am nearing the 2 month mark and the results thus far look promising. It is the dreadful "ugly duckling" stage and it is depressing as shit! LOL (excuse my language) I will post pictures soon to update you guys. Thanks!
  17. the pics are from 5 days post op. I will be posting up 60 day pics. I'm only 36 days
  18. The pictures with my head shaved are 7 days post-op. I will be putting up the 30 days next and follow up at 3-4 months.
  19. I am an aspiring actor who has been battling hair loss for a few years now. I don't want to get into all the details as everyone who battles hair loss knows, it's not a very fun time. It depressing and it lowers your self-esteem and self-confidence. I am 27 and after a year or so of consideration, I finally decided to go through with the procedure. I have heard many great things about Dr. Rahal and his team. He has had great results thus far and his reputation speaks for itself. I was told that 2500 grafts were enough because I was only thinning in the front and my hairline receded quite a bit. I'm not looking for the density of a 16 year old, I just want to have a framed face and be able to style my hair without having to hide the bald spots or pull some crazy comb-over. Anyway, I felt great about the procedure and I can safely say that I have had no regrets with it at all. Dr. Rahal gives you realistic expectations and he clarifies that not everyone will have the same results. (That's obviously the risk you take with these HT's) I have attached some before pics and some post-op pics. Not the greatest quality but I wouldn't mind hearing what people think. I will post updates on a regular basis so that you can follow me in my journey to new hair! LOL
