Right, right. I won't know before I try. Many before me have done the same, with impressive results. I don't know exactly how good a job it does with covering scars. I can only hope it does well enough. I don't have an answer for everything, I only try to stay positive, is that so bad? My life is difficult enough as it is. I made a "mistake", so be it. It wasn't all in vain, at least I don't think so. I was too impulsive, chose the wrong doc and got myself into a kiny situation. This I know. But I do not give up this easily. Admitting deafeat is not in my nature. I can still do something about this, something at least.

Yeah well you're saying "to hell with hair systems" NOW because you're 20 and still have much of your hair.

 

Will you feel the same if/when you're sporting a mane of hair in your frontal third and an expanse of bare scalp behind it? Will you feel the same when people are pointing and chuckling at your "unconventional" hairstyle?

 

Who knows? Maybe meds will stabilise your loss and maybe a visit to a high quality surgeon will fix the "row-seating" implantation effect you now sport - I certainly hope so - but there's a good chance you're gonna be disappointed.

Clearly, Mirror is paying the price for his impetuosity.

 

Still, it's worth remembering that there are several cases in which patients did their research, had consultations, even spoke to previous patients and still ended up with disappointing results.

 

Mirror's result could be worse - not much, I admit - but I think a talented surgeon could make his hairline look quite natural.

 

If however, his hair loss continues unimpeded by meds, it's pretty much GUARANTEED that he'll be wearing a hair system by his mid to late 20s.

To hell with hair systems. That I would NEVER on my life wear, ever! I would rather have an SMP procedure carried out. That way I could even pretty well cover up the scar too. When my hair grew out it didn't at all look bad, but very thin, especially in the middle part. I will have it filled in next year, and hopefully no more hairloss will I experience over the next year. I estimate I have about 3500-5000 grafts left, which isn't that bad. Plus I have an immense amount of coarse body hair, EVERYWHERE, enough to even cover a NW7, I kid you not. One thing I WILL have done, is to extract the hairs he implanted on the very side of my head. It looks very stupid. Does FUE leave you with visible scars, in the hands of an expert hair transplant surgeon. Some say my result looks okay and even good, while others call me a fool and tell me it looks horrible.

I really think you dug a big hole for yourself. I'm really sorry but we all told you that you were much too young for a procedure and there would be a risk of further balding. Sadly the perceived result currently does not look good or natural.. Maybe it will look better grown out and with a few more months but I don't see it as being refined work.. You most likely will have to have another procedure to correct this, expending even more of your precious donor...

It does look better grown out, this much I know. I still have some new growth coming in, not much, but some, mostly in the middle-area. Yes, you're right, I will be having another procedure, in a year's time or so. Hopefully Propecia will be able to ward off any further balding, at least any further noticeable balding... maybe, maybe not. I expect the worst, hope for the best. I may or may not lose all the hair on top of my head. My father has not, and he is nearing his fifties. He has a decent amount of hair. However, even though it doesn't look especially good as of now, it has given me more much needed confidence. I am not satisfied, but I feel a little better about myself, even though the current result may not look very pleasing to the eye, on close hold.

 

I will keep updating once in a while.

 

I don't know, man, it looks a little cornrow-ish to me. And there's a noticeable gap between the native hair and graft site. I hope it all works out for you. But it appears to me that you will be dealing with this some years down the road - filling that gap as your hairline continues to recede.

Right you are. The gap hasn't really moved in the past 8 months... it hasn't widened, which is a good thing. I am still on Propecia and Minoxidil. Another 2000 grafts should do it, if I do not keep on balding much more over the next year. Hasson & Wong NEXT! Read they do FUE in special cases, so...

After having exhausted of all my donor hair (if I keep on balding, that is), I will resort to SMP, if I must, so be it...

(but no more FUT prodecures for me, haha... no, thank you!)

It has now been a total of 240 days (just about 8 months) since I had my hair transplant.

I recently shaved my head down to a millimeter, in order to much more clearly show the follicles to you.

It seems most has grown in, I would say around 1300-1500 grafts, which is less than he promises me, but still not too bad either.

 

I will be going to Hasson and Wong in Canada next year, around November, tot have another 1000-3000 grafts done, some more work.

 

What do you think... any thoughts, opinions? It doesn't look half bad, right? Or...? It seems pretty even, though still too thin.

Perhaps the angle of the hairs are not so nice, but at least I am experiencing new hair growth. Not much, but it's definitely gaining in density.

 

They are thicker up front because you have miniaturization behind it. No one deserves a result like this, but people were practically begging you not to go through with it. I would guess that you'll have have some visible scarring with the amount work you'll need. It's really a shame. To boot, with your age, you may be chasing hair until you run out of donor. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes. I would also consider sticking with fue and h and w does not do fue I believe.

I know. I only have myself to blame. Still a little way to go though. And I haven't tried growing my hair out yet. You're right about H&W, that they don't do FUE, which is a shame. I think they do it, but only in extreme cases. So I will have to find someone else, but I don't know where to begin...

Oh dear - your right to be concerned. Your transplanted hair does not blend in at all with your existing ones.

And the angles and direction have been done very poorly by the looks of things.

This will be a repair case as you might have guessed already.

 

Sorry it has not worked out for you - 6 months is a milestone and you kind of get a feel of how its going to turn out. This looks like very poor work as we all can unfortunately see.

Absolutely. Yes, a repair case, in 1 or 2 years. I agree with all you just said. Either Hasson and Wong or Dr. Sanusi Umar, or something of that calibre.

It has now been 6.27528804 months/191 days since I had my hair transplant.

 

Things are moving along not swimmingly, but somewhat decently.

I doubt I now have any more than 1000 grafts out of the total of 2000 implanted.

New hair is still sprouting and some immature hairs are steadily growing.

 

The sides are filling in "nicely", while the facade remains thin.

 

But I have to agree with the placement and the angle. IT IS HORRIFIC. Not every single strand, but the majority of them.

I reckon it will look better once my hair gains some length.

 

I am not pleased at all with the density thus far. Hoping for more.I am expecting 40%-60% more growth, if the doctor did his job, that is.

 

New hairs are in fact coming in, but it can not be seen in any of the photos.

And for some reason these hairs are MUCH thicker than my other hair.

Next time, I will have reconstructive surgery and mimic the hairline in the photo. Just slightly lower and not as much v-shaped.

As long as the majority of my new hair grows out successfully, I will be content. I always thought that having a nearly straight hairline (the likes of Norwood 0) would be like a dream come true, but I now see how wrong I was. I am not very happy with how low, straight and unartistic it looks.

 

Next time (in two years exactly) I will opt for either Hasson & Wong, Dr. Sanusi Umar (I will visit Dr. Umar and have a BHT, in order to fully restore my temples) or Bernstein Medical, there to have a reconstructive surgery.

That means I will take no pictures for 3 months, more or less.

 

I mean no ill by this. I just need to lay off for some time, and direct my

focus/attention on other things in my life. Fix things.

 

I am starting to question my own sanity, when it comes to my hair.

Hence for what the coming days are concerned, I will try and lay my

worries to rest and do something else for a change.

I remember chancing upon some forum not so long ago, concerning my hair transplant doctor (Prasert Seesillapachai).

There was this person who'd had surgery done to him by yours truly, Dr. Seesillapachai. I remember reading he not

only had 1 transplant done, but two. Its the same with me - as I have already had one, and he now wants me to come

back for a second one. He told me (before) the transplant will be a little thin and maybe not dense enough ( why the hell would ANYONE give their patient a hair transplant they know will be thin and lacking density?), but dense enough to

simulate at least a semi-dense head of hair, as well as covering the scalp. This makes me awfully suspicious. I have a notion this

could be some sort of a sales-trick, in order to make sure the customer returns later on, in order the maximize their own profits.

I know I am already VERY early in, but I can't help but fear the possibilty that he just might be a charlatan of some sort.

Yes, my hair is growing and new hairs are appearing, but still...

Chill out it will just be the follicle the rest if it will still be there to regrow!!! Just like when your naturally shed in the resting phase!!

However I wouldn't be pulling at them, it's just not needed!!!

Your result looks normal so far at this stage, I'd be tempted to shave your top a little shorter so there's not such a big contrast between where your old hair finished as obviously that's a lot denser at this moment in time !!

Maybe a grade 3 or 2 on top!!

But to be fair everything looks normal to me!! Not outstanding growth yet but. On track there or there abouts where it should be!!

I know it's really hard but try and relax a bit and don't go pulling out hairs you've spent so much time in growing!!!!

I'm freaking out now. I tried pulling on one of the transplanted hairs with a pair of tweezers, and it actually dislodged with a bulb attached at the end, and these hairs were actually thick and mature-looking. Is this normal? Thus far, 5 hairs have come out, and I apply no force whatsoever. Please respond. I literally feel sick to my stomach...

 

NOWAY I would never use anything besides scalp hair for anything that frames my face (hairline/temples)... Use your amazing crazy amount of chest hairs as fillers in between scalp hair on top of you head just as a filler,

Not a bad idea. Though I wonder how well the scars will heal afterwards...

I've read doctor Sanusi Umar does this. The results are impressive, so I think.

Why chest hair? Why not scalp hair? In any case I wouldn't have body hair into the hairline/temples, at most it's better used as a filler when you've not got the available scalp hair, beard hair is generally closer to scalp hair than chest hair is, even so avoid this in the hairline/temple area

I wish to preserve all the available donor hair on my head for my head.

I know I am hairy (and alas, not so much where it counts the most), but for once it might actually benefit me.

 

How many grafts/hairs would you say one could harvest from my chest and the surrounding areas? I would like to fill in my thin temples. My chest hair pretty much matches the hair on my head.

 

What clinics/which doctors/surgeons offer this kind of service? Any you know of by chance?

 

How much would such a surgery cost? Is it even possible?

With each passing day, new hairs are emerging. Though it will take some time for them to become actually visible to the eye and for it to be clearly appearing on the photos.

The growth seems to be constant, but perhaps a bit slow. I think I might experience the most growth a little later on, perhaps somewhere around month 8 or 9.
