  1. You're walking on thin ice trying to get a HT at 23 as a NW4. In my opinion chances are high that even while on Fin you will progress to NW6-7 by around by around 40. If you try to completely reverse your hairloss, I feel you would be chasing your tail and likely end up with huge regrets... and a large bill.

If I were you, I would get my hair analyzed by a credible HT doc or derm to determine how much miniaturization you have. Then stay on Fin and check back with the same doc around 6 months from now. Then go from there. But whatever you do, if you end up getting work done, you should definitely do it with the anticipation of ending up NW6-7 in the near future (the not too unlikely worst case scenario). In other words, don't try to fill in your crown and focus more on framing your frame. Who knows, maybe your crown will stabilize and later on down the road you can fill that in.

  2. Matt I think your result is pretty good I just don't think it's a great example of a natural looking hairline based on your pics (the pics lack some clarity and without hair product I suspect it would look better though). I commented only because you offered it as an example and because others were talking about it. Of course, you're 11 months which means it will probably get even better.

I personally think if Konior had gven you a patch of density, as you say, it would probably look more natural... but this is just what I would prefer. If you're happy with it, that's what counts!

Funny that you mention Lorenzo as having the best hairlines. He does not feature in most people's top 3 list. I'm not knocking the man but his results photos are almost exclusively shot from a 45 degree angle down onto the top of the patients head. A lot of the time you cant even see the hairline properly.

If you really meant to say Lorenzo I'm confused because he has videos. But I think Lorenzo has the best FUE results for the hairlines he draws. I did not go to Lorenzo though because he would have not have done the hairline I wanted. If you meant Feriduni, I don't agree with the limited view opinion either because in addition to 45 degree shots he also does shots from other angles including usually a level shot of the hairline with the hair up.

  3. A reputable doctor will spread out the harvest of donor area and not over harvest any particular area, so it will not look weird when shaved. If it is shaved extremely short, like guard 1 or less then white dots may be seen upon close inspection. Your recipient area may have redness that is noticeable for up to a year, but once the redness is gone I don't believe there is any apparent scarring. Hope that helps!

  4. Questionmark I found your post fascinating thanks for posting. In response to some things you said,

Also be aware that hair transplants NEVER give you a natural look, but at best the illusion of.

I think "never give you a natural look" is too extreme. Hair is an illusion whether or not there's been a HT. I've seen plenty of HT results that look both natural and good. You don't necessarily need high density to look natural either. But I agree expectations need to be in check when considering a HT, as the result will never be the same as prehairloss density... and of course, sometimes shit happens and you get unexpected results. There's risks.

A lot of people that think about getting an aesthetic surgery actually have totally other issues they are often unconscious about, rooting for example in another unfulfilled desire, their childhood, their relation to relatives and/or friends, their place in life and society, etc. etc.

I don't really agree with castigating desires to get a HT (or any cosmetic procedure) for those reasons alone. Now I agree too much importance can, and often is, placed on such things, and expectations can become unrealistic. But what "pure" reason is there to get a HT?

Every reason to get a HT is superficial. Every reason is psychological. Every reason is to fill some void. Every reason is subjective. What you may find petty, may be a big deal to someone else on a fundamental level. I think what matters is having realistic expectations... which follows from careful consideration and research. If I'm a huge Justin Bieber fan and want to have hair like him, and have thought about it for years and done plenty of research and know exactly what to expect... am I crazy, am I wrong, or am I just doing what makes me happy? Yeah, maybe I would be a little weird... but everyone is weird on some level.

One major indicator might be that others don`t see the alleged and subjectively perceived necessity of a surgery, such as in this case.

Let's be honest, people are no where near as critical about the appearance of others as they are about theirs. What you may not see as a problem with one person, could be a big problem if you switched shoes. Also, most people lie or sugar coat their answers about your looks... you could have a dick growing on your head and people would still say, "Oh you know what it's not that bad... I can barely notice it when you comb it to the side"

  5. Yeah if you get swelling (and I think most do), it starts from the 2nd day and extends to about the 6th day. I believe by day 7 I looked basically normal and you couldn't tell. If you get swelling, you will probably look very very weird during that time... For me the swelling started on my forehead on day two then for the remaining days kind of hung around the inside corners of my eyes. But it was very noticeable and strange looking. The area around my ears swelled and also pushed my ears apart. I sort of looked like the creature from The Goonies. But fortunately sunglasses did a really good job hiding the swelling.

  6. You said this has happened gradually over the last 4 years while on Fin. Have you gained weight? People generally accumulate more fat as they age due to 1) metabolism slowing and 2) laziness. If your body fat percentage has gone up since 4 years ago, it's going to show and one of the ways could very well be in your face.

  7. An immediate post op pic would have been helpful. The frontal view of the result hairline looks good but doesn't tell the whole story because the hair is bending down and out. If his hair was combed straight up I don't think the result would look as appealing (not that it would look bad, just saying).

Did this guy have a previous HT? If not this is probably the most bizarre balding pattern I've seen... you classified him as a NW-3, I would have classified him as a NW-WTF.

  8. My 2 cents... If you really want to do this, you should first have your hair analyzed by a reputable doc to see how much miniaturization you have. Then go on Fin for a solid year and come back to the same doctor periodically and have them analyse it again. If your situation is improving after a year, I'd say you're clear for take off. If it's the same, that means you haven't worsened but going forward with the HT would still be risky... maybe compromise with something more conservative. If it's worse, obviously you wouldn't want to do anything aggressive at all.

  9. At a glance I'd say that does look like around 2700 grafts. My guess is when he transplanted grafts himself at the end he was putting on the finishing touch.

I agree your growth is subpar for 8 months. That's typically what people look like 3-4 months in, not 8. If I was you I would also be extremely upset and concerned. However, as hard as it is to believe you may still have significant growth to come. So try to remain calm until you get closer to the 1 year mark.

  10. Dr. Rosanelli did not place any grafts in the crown area.

He has so much more hair on his crown, and with high density. Where did all this extra hair come from, did he respond exceptionally well to medication? And if he did experience amazing regrowth from medication, how are we to judge the HT result? It looks like this guy received 10,000+ grafts or is wearing a wig to be honest.

  11. Looks good but something looks 'off' in the post-op results to me... Do you have any more photos showing the result?

Just saw this and was about to say the same thing. So why is a recommended doctor from this site posting photoshopped pictures? Even if there was no evidence of tampering, for only 2548 grafts the result seems impossibly good

If a clinic resorts to photoshopping, I wouldn't be surprised if the guy had concealer or heck even a wig? Geez.

  12. A density of 40-50 grafts per cm^2 typically looks dense enough to look natural in most lighting. At 40 per cm^2, 1000 grafts would net you 1000/40 = 25 square centimeters of coverage over a bald area. That's a 2inch by 2inch square... which isn't as small as it sounds if you draw it out.

  13. Most of people says positive about fin but

No one shows there positive before after progress on fin .

Like I said most people don't get big improvements on Fin. What improvement they may get is usually subtle. It's also a long drawn out process. There are pictures showing progress out there though, if you look hard enough. And of course the benefits are very well documented by scientific studies.

But again the goal is to maintain and prevent future loss.

  14. Well said in the above post, and I'll add if you're eager to just jump into a HT you need to do the following,

    1. Stop

    2. Drop

    3. Research the hell out of what you're doing first

There's not many doctors in the world who do a great work. Without even knowing who that doc is, I can tell you there is a 99% chance she's not very good and her results are poor by comparison. If you go with this doctor uninformed, it would be like walking into a casino and betting all the money you have that a penny slot machine is gonna hit jackpot on the next roll... in other words, a really really really really bad bet.

  15. Sounds like you prescribe to this new bumper crop of internet 'gurus' that preach the gospel of 'the worse you treat a woman, the more she wants you. Be a challenge.' Must be a generational thing, because my father loved and adored, honored and respected my mother for 51 years. When it's right, it's right, and games shouldn't have to be played.

Unfortunately that gospel is generally right. No one should be abusive or mean to anyone, but being a challenge (as in not a pushover) creates mystery and intrigue. People want what they can't have, the grass is greener, etc. If you're too easy, a woman will feel she "has" you and suddenly the grass appears greener elsewhere. Regardless of who you are, if you roll over for a woman it will be against your best interest... things may still work out, but it's against your best interest.

    That's life.
