Hi , can you please tell me how the grafts were distributed into the 3 different areas please ? Thanks
-
Is there a micron breakdown for that patient? The video claims his hair shaft diameter is "fine/medium," but his hair shafts look quite coarse and fat in the results combthrough. I'm wondering if they are considering his hair "fine/medium" with respect to the clinic's general patient population? Patients with Spanish/Latino/Hispanic heritage tend to have amazingly thick, coarse hairs. So it may be finer compared to average here, but I don't think many would consider his hair "fine" based on that combthrough.
Hi dr bloxham , thanks for your input I don't see a micron breakdown but comparing it to other cases where the micron value is stated I'm totally guessing but I wouldn't put it above 45-50 microns ? If you pause and look at the temporal areas you can see the scalp so definitely not a man with thick hair but probably lots of hair if you get what I mean .
I have similar characteristics so it really grabbed my attention the result that was achieved with shall we say 'medium' thickness hair
Either way it appears a stunning result for both doc and patient . Is this doctor known in the USA? Apparently he trained with dr cole but I can't seem to find out much more about him ? If you can find any info on him I would be greatly appreciative.
Sorry for hijacking your thread dr Lindsey I would still love to know your opinion on this fine/medium haired man ?
Thanks in advance

Hmmmm ... not really sure what to make of this , I don't see a bright future for this poor guy nw1 hairline placed by previous clinic , scars , and what appears to be thinning in the vertex .... is he on meds ? A classic example of keeping things conservative in the hairline unless you are 40 ish and have a pretty good chance of keeping the hair you have .

I personally really like dr lupanzula but have only seen virtual results and I agree there are limited patient results , I think this is something the clinic are trying to get going and if you ask they may offer a rebate/discount system for patients to give there honest review of there experience with there clinic . Which shows they have confidence in the doctors work . The main attraction for me is the fact that the doctor does all the extractions and incisions and of course his super soft hairline work . Like most people know there is no 100% guarantee with surgery but this surely gives you better odds than using a tech based clinic ?? Or am I overthinking things ?
I'm hoping to get a consultation this jan with dr lupanzula in London.
I agree about dr coutos recent videos they seem almost too good to be true !! I've sent some pictures in for virtual consultation and will update my response in the couto thread as and when I get a response ... might take some time due to his 3.5,year waiting list though
But back to the original question ! Dr lupanzula gets a huge thumbs up from me but purely based on his own online results

Was this not used when your husband had his procedure ?

Hi dr Lindsey , can you please take a quick look at this video of a fue case with fine hair . It' would seem this doctor and many others are able to work with fine hair and still get great results ? I ask as I have fine hair 40-50 microns and I am looking to having a fue procedure and none of the surgeons have expressed any concerns about fine hair etc ??
Thank you

3.5yrs waiting list for such kind of results? its absoultely worth if he is really producing such remarkable results!
Not good in spanish but any users in Spanish Forums has posted such results which do the justice to these Youtube videos?
Really need a honest feedback on Dr.Couto
UPDATE:-
Thanks to my Girl she is excellent in Spanish here are some more details about Dr. Couto
Dr. Juan Couto, an expert in hair restoration surgery, is the founder and medical director of the clinic. He is a member of the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). Waiting list of several months for consultation, and clinic already booked for transplants until 2020.
PRICES : From 3 to 5 euros / graft according to the number of grafts and to the technology used (FUE or STRIP). Prices include surgery, medication, and follow-up visits for one year. 10% deposit on booking a transplant operation.
CONSULTATION : free and compulsory to determine treatment and transplant.
MEDICAL TREATMENTS :
DRUGS : Minoxidil, Finasteride, combination of both
PRP : the patient's platelet-rich plasma contains powerful growth factors for the capillary repair and regeneration.
LASER : effective if subject to regular sessions in conjunction with medical treatment.
HAIR TRANSPLANT :
AUTOMATED FUE : Motorized Punch (faster, and without loss of quality compared to manual punch, resulting in significant time saving) from 0.75 to 0.9 mm in diameter. FUE technique allows for selecting follicular units containing the appropriate number of hairs for the intended transplantation (eg one or two hair UF for the front hairline).
FUE PATCHY SHAVEN : hair from the donor area is cut to 5 cm long, and can hide the narrow strips shaved at 1 mm length for FUs harvesting. More expensive technique because more time consuming.
STRIP TRICHOPHYTIC : the clinic uses the technique of the strip (with tricophytique closure) only for patients with very large bald areas (Norwood VI and VII), preferably in combination with FUE and BHT. Mega sessions.
BHT : with beard hair.
TRANSPLANT OF EYEBROWS AND EYELASHES : FUE Technique for collecting FUs from the scalp.
MESSAGE OF DOCTOR COUTO :
there is really no age for a hair transplant, it is a valuable technique for both the young people in their twenties and (at the other extreme) for almost octogenarian..
However youth under 25 are generally not good candidates for the following reasons : the rate of hair loss is not yet known ; it is too early for a transplant which will maintain a natural appearance throughout life ; some early baldness are changing very rapidly during the first 10 years, which can lead to many successive transplant sessions to maintain a natural aesthetic ; early surgery may unnecessarily take in the donor area, which will be much needed later. It is therefore recommended that youth under 25 opt for medical treatment (Minoxidil, Finasteride) awaiting a transplant at a later age
Great info rawkerboi ! I'd say with his new YouTube videos he will be booked up for the next 10 years soon !! butvit siunds as if they have a good cancellations policy running so I might end up exploring that ! Would love to get in touch with some previous patients so will keep researching
-
Tell me about it !! Can't really find much history about this doctor as his site is limited and very Spanish , the bits I've read on Spanish forums seem very positive !
This result is even more impressive as the patient doesn't appear to have an insanely good donor like many other clinics use .
If anyone has anymore info good or bad I'd love to hear from you ! Might have to join the cancellations list !!
-
What the hell ! Can anybody tell me if this is for real , I'm starting to think I've found out the reason this guy is booked up for 3.5 years !! Truly amazing work and totally blows away this strip has better yields vs fue !! Or has this doc discovered hair multiplication and not telling anybody ; )
-
Seriously 3.5 years !! I actually wondered if it was abit of scam or something and they were going to contact me to say I was in luck and a space had become available etc ... but they can't even offer a virtual consultation at this point !! However I have asked to be placed on a cacellations list as you still have 4 months to decide and it reduces the wait time for surgery considerably... they even keep the price locked in at 3 euros for any future work and as I stated above it's a doctor lead surgery where he performs all extractions and incisions etc .
Here's some more info from dr coutos
The price will be € 3 for all grafts in additional procedures after the first intervention of 3000 or more in .
The doctor has been involved in hair restoration surgery for 20 years, especially in the FUE technique since 2004.
About the training of the doctor you will find some information here T?cnica F.U.E. | Trasplante Capilar | Madrid | FUE-Xpert Clinic | Dr. Juan Couto., but really the doctor has polished and developed his own technique and working protocol.
The truth is that the doctor has done little for the publicity in the web, probably for not having needed it.
Now, encouraged by his own patients, he will begin to improve the website and begin to publish cases on some social networks, but not to look for more work, rather to know their results out of Spain.
In Hispanic forums there is a lot of information and cases published, couto, fuexpert, recuperarelpelo site:foro.recuperarelpelo.com
Each month we have some cancellation that is confirmed 3 to 4 months earlier when we ask for the deposit, to have time to schedule another patient. Currently we have waiting list for these cancellations and we do not discount the price for being so requested. If your availability allows, this possibility can considerably advance the date of intervention for you after consultation with the doctor.

Dr couto is posting some insanely good results on YouTube at the mo!! They look almost too good to be true .. I've contacted the clinic and they have a 3.5 year waiting list !! His prices are as follows
Our prices are per follicular units,
First 1500 at 4,50€
From 1501 to 3000 at 4,00€
From 3001 and more at 2,50€
Yes, Dr. Couto does the whole surgery, extractions and implantation.
He only attend at his clinic in Madrid.

Beautiful work , so clean well done all !
-
My apologies Pete , I've just re read they message you sent me her prices you sent me were between 4 -6 pounds per graft for the first 1000 and she has been working with the Farjo clinic since 2015 ??did she train in fue elsewhere ? Wasn't dr Lorenzo briefly associated with your clinic in 2013?
-
Sublime work !! Do you have a date for your London consultations this January yet ? Thanks
-
Nice to see a combo procedure , look forward to watching this develop
-
Agreed , I'm pretty sure he would blow the likes of Farjos and dr reddy clean out of the water , especially with him offering fut fue and repair work , reddy is something silly like 20 grand fir 2500 grafts and Farjo charge 7 pound per graft for a female doctor who has been performing fue for a very limited time and with virtually no result to see .... come on dr K open a small boutique clinic here in the uk !
-
Not quite sure why he's done this , but I got charged 1.50 euros per graft . I had an average hair count of 2 hairs per graft , which I think is fairly average . The euro price per hair would actually turn out cheaper than the 1.50 euros I paid ..
All depends on the donor density , lower than average density would end up being cheaper still , but higher density would be more , but on the face of it seems like a cheaper deal for most .
Yea on reflection I was possibly probably being unfair , to be honest I think dr karedeniz is a good doctor who fell foul of the trolls on here . I think His completion is too much for him in turkey as he's a 1 patient per day surgery where he performs all the important parts of the surgery himself , trouble is for him he charges the same if not less than some of the 10 patient per day hair mills .... I honestly feel he would do better back in the uk where he studied , there is a definite gap in the market especially in the north of the uk !
-
This is the 2nd time he's changed his pricing structure , he used to have a sliding rule pricing which was confusing to say the least ! My bet is that this was a suttle way of increasing his prices ? I think dr reddy in the U.K. Charges per hair and or that reason I didn't even go for coonsultation as like a previous poster has said there is no way of knowing your exact price before the surgery . A bad move by dr K in my opinion .
-
Hi Peabody , have a look at dr lupanzula (medikemos) latest video of the hairline work , I think it's something similar to what you are after ... obviously you wouldn't need as many grafts but just some singles and refinement of the hairline .
-
Sooooo natural ! Beautiful result . At what age does dr lupanzula consider patients for transplants that are unmedicated like this patient ?
-
Simply life changing result for this young man ! Dr lupanzula has exploded onto the HRN scene !
-
Yes, I will now confirm i was referring to asmed. Note that just because there may be discrepancies in graft count, it doesn't change the fact that he produces good results. The two issues are separate. My husband was not able to watch the extraction/counting process. I wasn't in the room with him but apparently he was only given the option to watch movies.
As for photos, we only have the professional photos taken by asmed, which were enlarged and used to count using a pixel counter, as well as a dermatology grade magnifying glass on the actual scalp. He prefers i not post the asmed photos (maybe he's overthinking it) since if asmed really wanted to go through the photos, they could identify him and refuse any future service. We will likely use a different surgeon but he wants to keep the option open. Obviously i will respect his privacy. This surgeon provides good results but we are not yet convinced they are superior to some comparable surgeons that quote lower graft counts. Would you go wrong cosmetically by going to asmed? most likely not. Are you going to pay more for arguably the same quality work as some of the other top surgeons? most likely yes.
This is now just getting silly , you were allegedly ripped off to the tune of 4000 euros but would still potentially use the same doctor ! Surely you took your own personal pictures as your husbands progress developed especially if you thought you had been short changed ???
-
Zim , go for a live consultation next time Asmed are in London I think you will be surprised how flexible they can be .
-
Just because asmed is stating they will drop the count it doesn't mean they won't be inaccurate with the graft count.[/quote
Do you have post op pictures ?? If you could post a picture of post op it will surely be easy to see the difference between 3000 grafts you paid for and the 1500 you claimed your husband received ? Thanks

Here's another Spanish dr performing on a find haired presumably Hispanic patient , they seem to have a knack for getting great coverage with quite small amounts of grafts which makes me think it might be something these guys are using ? Both are using implanter pens , are they getting extremely high regrowth due to less graft handling and the grafts being outbid the head for a very short time ??
