  1. Check this out http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171092-dr-maras-hdc-hair-transplant-clinic-2050-grafts-beard-healing-donor.html
  2. I may be bias because as you saw I myself lowered my hairline; however I think you're a bit off with your statements. I have seen plenty of cases where new hairlines are built that look natural. There are even patients with no hairless that get a ht just to lower a hairline. Not sure why you make these statements but they seem to be outdated. Just my opinion...
  3. Just got out from the 2nd day of my procedure. It's been quiet a long day for me, but I'm finally done! Total 1736 grafts distributed in single hairs in front and 2/3 hair grafts behind. They went a bit into my native hair to get a good blend (a bit hard to see because they shaved a bit in the recipient( Picture time! Some are mine and some they sent me so sorry for various quality Preop Immediately post op: 1 day post op: The yellow is where I had an injury preop. Obviously I can't say anything at this point about the results but I would like to say a few things about my e pertinence so far. The staff at HDC are amazing and kind, they have made sure I was comfortable in every aspect during my stay here and went above and beyond to me me happy. I really feel like the service I got until now cannot get any better... I guess in the end of the day the results will speak but I was important for me to point this out. More updates at 1 week!
  4. I would disagree as it took 300 grafts to fill in the other side. It's hard to see but I have some native hair there that they shaved off. Either way I was told between 500-700 grafts, so maybe it will end up being 700, I will update you guys. Should be done within 4 hours tomorrow...
  5. Hey thanks for all the replies. Quick update: I arrived in Cyprus today and was taken straight to my apartment which is conveniently next door tot the clinic. Went to the clinic had some pictures taken. A hairline was designed and later amended a few times. After discussing all the options and based on my personal stats we decided to drop the hairline, but just a bit. 1100 grafts were put in today to define the hairline and fill in the left temple. Tomorrow I will have the final 500-700 grafts put in behind the hairline. I will also post better pictures tomorrow.
  6. Background: My name is Dan, age 24. Hairline began receding around the age of 18 and continue to recede at a slow paste. Been looking to get a hair transplant for about a year now. Have been shopping around to see which Dr. will be the best for me. Got a consultation from almost every well respected Dr. in the US and Europe. History/Medication:Grandfathers on both sides have suffered from MPB, however, only at a later age (35+). My brother and father both have a full head of hair. Took Propecia for 1 year, stopped about three months ago due to no results and strong sexual side effects. Never took Rogaine religiously. However, I am aware that after the transplant I will need to start taking it. Hair: Norwood 2.5. Receding hairline and temples. No hair loss in crown or top of head. Hair is thick and wavy, donor area is abundant. Front (recipient): http://i.imgur.com/WHeQpPi.jpg Back (donor): http://i.imgur.com/YIVZQFQ.jpg?1 Why I chose Dr. Maras: After doing much research, a lot of reading (especially on this forum,) I have found the Dr. Maras and the HDC clinic would be the best choice for anyone living in Europe/Middle East, who want to get premium results at a good price. Dr. Maras has posted many good results, a few of the best I have seen on the site are his work. And he makes some killer hairlines! Travel: I will be flying out tonight to Cyprus (the flight was paid by the clinic,) there I will be picked up and taken to one of HDC's apartments (which is across the street from the clinic.) I will not write anything further about the procedure at this point or after, and will update when I am there. THE PROCEDURE 1763 grafts were taken from my donor via FUE over the course of two days and implanted into my frontal hairline (lowering it a bit and filling in the temples.) About half single hair grafts and the rest were variations off of 2/3 Will keep this updated with pictures on day of procedure, days following procedure, as well a monthly update of my progress. Updates and pic from post op on pg2 Will accept any questions/comments or suggestions! Updates will come soon
  7. Yup. I went to get some beach for the last time for the summer and boom into the sea floor I hope you're right
  8. Hey, With my unfortunate luck I managed to hit my head diving into shallow waters and my transplant is in 3 days! Now, the injury is not directly where I will be receiving hair, maybe just a bit, swelling is minimal but extends a bit above the hit. Minimal pain. So now I ask, will this effect my transplant? Or am i worrying for no reason? Picture: http://i.imgur.com/5N2B3Te.jpg Thank you!
  9. Yea I'm impressed too. I'm not sure how many he does p/day. My operation will be one day. There was a user who posted a 2400 fue with him earlier this year. Not sure if he mentioned if it was one or two days. Either way progress will be posted
  10. Yes, I have heard great things about him indeed. I made sure he will be the one who operated on me from the beginning and was notified that he is the only doctor at HDC who performs FUE, the other doctors only do FUT. Dr. Maras uses manual tools, which from all I've read has many advantages. Also, he does all of the extractions and incisions / slit makings for the hair placement himself. I have seen some great results posted on the site from that clinic, and I trust the technicians who are claimed to have 10+ years of experience to place the hair into the slits Dr. Maras makes
  11. So after doing a lot of research over the past few months I have finally booked my procedure to be done in one month at HDC clinic with Dr. Maras in Cyprus. I'm 24 y/o with receding hairline since age 17. Hoping to fill in my temples and lower the hairline a bit. Do you guys think 1400 will be enough? Will keep you all posted and updated Pic: imgur: the simple image sharer
  12. How about HDC clinic in Cyprus?
  13. I'll answer what I can... 1. I wouldn't let going overseas determine where you do your transplant. Don't settle for anything less than something you are 100% sure with. 2. There's no reason to cut your hair short (Except in the donor area where they shave you), it might be easier for the Dr. to do it with shorter hair tho. 3. Side effects of what? The only one you might actually be concerned with is shock loss, look it up. 5. average cost for 1750 grafts (from what i have researched i need between 1250-1750)? Varies from place to place, I know HDC in cyprus which is a well respected place is doing grafts for FUE at 3.2 Euros and they will pay for your airfare and stay there at that cost. Usually other respected clinics/drs in Europe charge about 4.5-7 USD for FUE, some even charge $10 per graft. In turkey the prices are half. 6. should i do this (i want to do this, my family says do it, an ive got 4 months of free time ahead of me, but do those with experience agree with me)? If you want to do it, than do it, you shouldn't care what people here think. 7. Time taken to get a consultation and then the surgery? Consultation you can do over the internet with pictures, or visit a clinic. Usually respected clinics will half about a one-two month wait for surgery. Surgery for 1750 grafts is a one day deal almost anywhere.
  14. Have you considered contact the doctor who did your procedure and asking him?
  15. The bottom line here is that there is no point of just doing 100 grafts. From the time you do the transplant to the time you will see the full results takes between 12-16 months. Why don't you just find a doctor thats recommended and in your price range and go for a consultation?
  16. Read everything on the internet about propecia before you consider. The side affects are much more common than the 2% advertised. Be warned.
  17. So I've been reading a lot between lipogain big 3, nizoral 1% or 2%, revita, alpecin. I would really rather avoid any shedding that may be caused by nizoral. I read that it might not be good using caffeinated shampoos while on rogain? So what's the bottom line? Or is it still not very clear. I am getting my first HT in about a month so I'm mostly looking for something to keep what I have. What do you guys suggest?
  18. Yes. Can clearly see you are balding. Its hard to tell from the low def pics but NW2-NW3 seems about right. Rogain and Fin would be your best bet for now, although neither have been proven to work on hairline. Have you considered a HT?
