  1. You will be okay, wait a while, your still very young. And do not worry about donor area on a fourty year old being thin, I am 40 and my donor area is just as thick as when I was 20. The top however is the problem, those hairs are weaker and slimmer than the hair on the sides and back of my head, hence the need for a transplant.

Oh I see, I'm just curious why dr's are saying ht is permanent when you actually read online that many patients actually started t lose thei transplanted hair after 2-4 years.. It's just scary :(

  2. Well I also thought hair transplanted should be permanent and when I googled I could see many people starting to lose their hair after 3-4 years and some at 2 years so I'm wondering does it worth that? It was my last hope but if my hair will just fall out after 2-4 years I don't know if its worth that:( I also was thinking to my self that its really impossible to have hair transplanted permanent since you can see on 40 years people, they don't have the same donor when they were 20 years old.. What you guys think?

  3. The point he was making is that if you have a lot of miniaturization in your donor zone, those hairs may not be DHT resistant and may fall out eventually after being planted, or even if they are never moved. A person with (from what one of the doctors on the board said) more than 20 percent miniaturization in the donor zone is not a good candidate for transplantation. However, an in-person exam is by far the best way to determine this, and with a goal like yours, which is somewhat different than the average person, I would definitely do an in-person consult.

Thanks a lot for your answer, everyday I log in this forum and see how you help to people so thanks! So basically what you say is: If I have more than 20% miniaturized hairs I'm not a good candidate? How can I find out? I just found out many people complained that 3-4 years after they have done the surgery the ht was fallen! Not the none transplant place. Is it common or it has something to do with the miniaturized donor? Thanks!

  4. Hello everyone, I'm 20 years old and planning to perform an HT in 2 years from now. I just read at dr Wesley thread about hair miniaturized and I want to make sure I understand it right. As long as you have hair miniaturized it means the ht won't stay for ever or...? I'm really confused and not even sure what it means, if anyone can give more details it would be great. By the way, the area I want to cover is just the hairline and cover the rest with hair system.

  5. I seriously can't understand, whats the problem to wear hair piece (as long as it looks 100% natural and no1 can guess it's not ur hair), It's same as TOPPIK, u basically live a lie but thats the only way to get back the hair I used to have when I was 15, I'm using TOPPIK for 4 years, waking up at 5AM in the morning to be ready at 7AM, If that's didn't kill me for 4 years i'm sure nothing won't be able to make me giveup haha, what do you think about this : ?

I would like to hear you opinion, thanks! :)

  6. Rahal isn't your only hope. Dr Feller did an amazing job for me and many others, there are many excellent surgeons on here who could give you a great hair line.

Think 5 years down the line. What if you get sick of wearing a wig? If you do it now you'll be locked into it.

Well I'm using Toppik for almost 4 years, everyday I wake up early and take a shower and then put the toppik, usually it takes me about 40 minutes the whole thing and I'm doing for so long that hair system won't bother me, I've done anything already, hair system, micro pigemantation I didn't like the hair system because of the front, the hairline doesn't look good at all and that's why I want to transplant my hairline and cover the rest with wig.. What do you think about that? I just know this is the only way to have back the hair I used to have..

  7. I'm 21, almost 22, and More the half the surgeons I have had a consultation with have agreed to transplant on me, and mind you these doctors are highly recommend on this forum and have a good rep.

Could you please post some photos? It will help me so much! Thank you! The only doctor I'm actually interested is dr rahal, since i just want to transplant my hairline only and he's my only hope..

  8. Hello guys, I know 99% of you won't suggest to do hair transplant at such a young age but there's something I can't understand, I'm losing hair everywhere in my head and the only think that is bothering me its my hairline. I know If I do ht on the hairline only in couple of years ill be NW7 and with hair on the front then and I have an idea for that : since I barely have hair left in my entire head I would like to cover all my head with hair system and transplant my hairline for natural results and at this case I can't see how the age play here, I know my hair loss reason is genetic, my father was NW7 when he was 26 and same with his 5 brothers, so basically my question is how does it matter what is my age.. I'm asking that since no1 is willing to do the surgery on me and its just killing me..

  9. Guys, thanks a lot for your comments, Nick, thanks for explanning me about BHT, Matt, I did understand what you wrote and thanks a lot for explanning, when you said my donor is avg, do you know about how many grafts it will possible to get of my donor? (I know you said it's very hard to know with pictures) but i'm just curious if it will be enough atleast for perfect hairline + some hair on the rest of my head, as long as toppik can hold it i'm fine with that, the most important thing for me is the front, i don't care about the rest.

greatjob, this is the first time i actually meet someone who started to lose his hair with younger age than mine.

I'm using propecia and hope it will do anything, even slow my hairloss will be fine.

Today I bought what Dr.rahal told me, saw palmetto, biotin and silica. I hope it will change something.

but for now, what do u suggest me to do? When should I start consinder HT? I just scared of the day when I won't be able to put TOPPIK anymore since I won't have enough hair on my head and then what.. People will notice im going bald, I know it's something normal, 99% of my family are balds but none my friends are, and I know it will have many bad effects on my confidence..

Thanks again guys for your comments! you are awesome :)

  10. Silica is a trace mineral which supposedly has a healthy effect on hair, skin, and nails; however, I think your biotin and saw palmetto extract pills will do the trick. I am also taking MSM (often paired with glucosamine as a supplement) and a B-complex vitamin, both of which I feel has made a positive difference in my growth and texture. But again.....the biotin alone seems to be one of the supplements with the most positive correlation for hair growth. As long as Ebay has that for you, you are good to go!!

Israel huh? Awesome! Tel Aviv is on my short list of places I want to see in the VERY near future!

    Best,

    Mike

Haha trust me buddy, there's nothing to see in Israel, but your always welcome! I'll buy you a falafel :)))

  11. You are for sure young for a hair transplant. However, some people are so blessed with an above average donor supply with above average donor laxity that allows them to address any level of balding. That being said, if you do meet these qualities, you may be a candidate for a HT at your age, although most doctors would suggest against it, because you'll most likely have to have a hair transplant in the next 3-4 years. They would much rather try to stabilize the hair loss and then address what needs to be addressed at that time in order to save you time, money, and unneeded emotions. I am speaking, of course, of respectable doctors -- ones that actually enjoy what they're doing more than how much money they can make off of somebody, even if that person is 19 years old.

By the looks of your picture, you do look you have a good donor density, which will work into your favor, and if I remember right, your skin is on the darker side, which minimizes the contrast between your scalp and your hair, giving a more dense look. I suggest that you get on finasteride until you are at least 21 years old, do research in the meanwhile, and if a hair transplant is something you're still looking at, do it. Just do a lot of research and make sure you get a good doctor.

Thanks a lot on comment, i never meant to do HT right now, but I want to do it in the next 2-3 years.

My skin is actually white and my hair is dark brown, I just know that my hair is really heavy.

And by the way, does it possible to take hair from the legs and put them on my head ? O.o

if u see my legs you'll understand why i'm asking that.. LOL..

    thx again!

  12. Yes I know 15 is too young and you know what's funny? well it's not funny at all lol, my brother is 15 years old and starting to lose some hair (You can't notice anything but you can see how his hair shedding when play with his hair).

My father went totaly bald when he was 26 so it makes sense that he probably started to lose when he was 16-17, all my uncals, from both sides are bald, so I believe it genetic, I'm sure stress make it wrost since I have a lot of stress, usually when i search up on this forum and see a bad HT, my heart starting to beat hard because I'm scared i'll be one of them, or when Chad told me I may not be a good candidate I couldn't sleep... hair become part of my life, actually the only part, since I was 15 and nothing didn't change, my parents always tell me to move on but I know for sure it won't happen and I never give up untill I have full head with hair like you guys have! :)

Uploading now the photos and tell me what u think. :)

  13. Guys, thanks a lot on comments, i'll post my photos right now and tell me what u think, I'm using propecia, 15% minoxidil with PG, Omega 3, Multi vitamin and now i'm going to start what chad told me to use.

The bad news are, I used Propecia for 2 years when I was 15-17! It didn't help me at all (that's atleast what I think because my hair became wrost). Honestly, I started propecia about 3 months after I found out i'm lossing my hair, I'll upload now the photos, thanks again.

  14. Daniel-

Tough to say buddy. I'm sure a physician or a patient advisor would chime in with a more "accurate" assessment. Looks to me like you have a good, dense/thick donor area.....however, photos are super hard to give an assessment. I know plenty of people who were expecting a great donor area, and then on the day of their procedures found out it wasn't as good as originally thought. Same goes for the other way around too. Scalp laxity will also play a role in what the physician will be able to harvest.

But speaking as an outside perspective, your hair characteristics look very similar to mine, and I had above average laxity and donor supply/density!

If you don't mind me asking, what nationality are you? Some of us Italians and Spaniards luck out in that department.....and are ideal hair transplant candidates. Just curious and not trying to be rude....so please don't feel as if you have to answer that question! =)

    Best,

    Mike

I like how you write your answers very carefully, I'm a jewish but im pretty much hairy like italians, hehe, I believe that my hair is heavy. I posted some of my photos to Chad (Dr.rahal services), and he said I may not be a good candidate which is very disappointing. However my hair is real short now, when it's a bit longer the donor destiny look much better, if you got skype or e.mail I can send you some of my photos and give me your opinion of what you think.

After all, i'm young, 19 years old and my hair doesn't look good at all, I lost most of it, I'm using TOPPIK so even my girlfriend or friends doesn't know im going bald.

I know 1 day I won't be able to hide it and before that day comes I want to do something about it.

    Again, thanks a lot!

  15. Hi Daniel-

Excellent choice in considering Dr. Rahal for your transplant. You will be in excellent hands.

I just recently started on Saw Palmetto and Biotin myself. I don't take silica personally, but know others who do. Do you live in the United States? If so, I personally buy ALL of my multi-vitamins (including my hair loss regimen) through Amazon. I find that they usually have the best prices, they ship directly to my house, and they have a "subscribe and save" option that allows you to sign up for monthly (or less) recurring deliveries. When I utilize this feature on the website, they discount your order an extra 5%. I am certain you could pick these up at any local grocery store or pharmacy in your city, but this is the most convenient option for me personally! Likewise, Amazon allows people to review different brands...so I can see which manufacturers are more highly rated. I find that when I shop in a store your options are more limited, as the store often only carries one or two manufacturer brands!

    Hope this information helps!

    Best,

    Mike

    Thanks a lot buddy.

I live in Israel, the only thing I couldn't find was silica, the rest I could find on Ebay.

  16. I think the average person is 70grafts/cm2 and most people have about 5-7000 grafts total. however, that number increases or decreases significantly depending on donor density (how many grafts are in each cm2) and also scalp laxity (how much your scalp stretches). A hair HT patient can normally obtain more grafts by first maxing out their strip surgeries and then once they are unable to obtain more due to scalp laxity, they are able to extract additional grafts via FUE. Anoterh important factor in determining results is also your hair coarseness (how thick hair shafts are), and how many multi-hair grafts (3-4 hair/grafts) you have. All of these variables is why it makes it hard to tell each individual what kind of results they should expect for their particular situation.

Wow you know so much information, you should be a doctor Lol.

Well, i'm young, im just 19 and started to loss my hair when I was 15-16, my hair doesn't look good at all but i'm using Toppik and no1 has a clue that i'm going bald, and without toppik u can see how bad it looks like... basically I just want full hair on hairline, and some hair in the rest of my head, as long as toppik can catch it i'm fine with that.

There's one more thing I can't understand, what is 2cm\70 i always see people post it and i can't understand it..

    Thanks again ^^
