@danielx111 My first question was going to be if you've taken finasteride. I'm sorry it didn't really do anything for you. In some people the genetic hair loss is simply so aggressive that even finasteride won't do anything positive. So far it's been good for me, but I am considering the idea of dutasteride since it blocks the other type of 5a enzyme that finasteride does not.

I think it's hard sometimes to forget, when we get so involved in all of this hair loss stuff in life, that perfection is never realistic, nor is it a healthy thing to obsess over at all. I've heard of the shedding that people apparently experience...luckily I haven't experienced any shedding in the past few years. I know I didn't share many pictures between the age of about 21 and 26, but my hair was all gone in the pattern you see in the pre-op pics by about age 21. Since then, there has been essentially no more loss. I've never noticed any shedding at all on my pillow or in the shower. So that's as best a situation I can hope for sitting here today.

I am extremely happy to hear that, If you didn't suffer any shedding from your donor by now, I am pretty sure you be 100% fine. 🤗🙏🙏🙏

Not a candidate in the sense that, it is unclear if you have a truly stable donor region. You may be one of the people who's transplanted hair thins.

But yes I agree, having some hair on top is better than no hair, so it was certainly worth a try.

    Unfortunately he is right.

I do wish you success and hope it will turn out great for you!

However, you and me are sharing the same situation. We are the same age, I started to lose my hair when I was 15-16 as well, by 23 Norwood six.

Started to wear hair piece when I was 21 (no one knew I ever got bald because I used Toppik while I was losing my hair and transfered to Hair piece when Toppik couldn't work anymore).

At age 25 I went under HT (FUT), 2k grafts to transplant my hairline and place the hair piece behind it.

At age 26 I went under FUE (1k grafts) to transplant the scar + 800 grafts to fill temples and lower the hairline by 3/4 inch.

Everything grew perfectly, I would say I had 95%+ growth. I went to one of the best doctors in US, however... About a year after my first HT I started to shed some transplanted hairs, I did notice it gets thinner and thinner. 3 years later (Today), I lost about 30% if not more.

Just to clarify, the hairline was SUPER dense and gradually decreased the destiny. Honestly? I wasn't shocked, I knew it would happen but I was like, if 30% will remain I may still be able to work with it. However as it seems now, I don't think 30% will remain in two years from now.

The reason I knew I may lose some of it (I never knew I would lose so much and so soon), is because I am shedding from my donor. When the hairloss is aggressive and especially for young people as us the donor takes an effect as well sometimes.

Now I am in a stage where :

My "hair" looks great, impossible to know I have hair piece and I have brushed back hairstyle, However I am concerned about the future, How far my hairloss will continue in my back and sides, what if it will become so thin that even hair piece won't be an option?

Looking at my uncles/father/grandfather's, we are ALL Norwood 6, all of them have hair on sides and back but it's definitely thin compared to the average person.

Look at your relatives, it may give you an idea how your donor will be at theirs age. The fact your taking propecia may help you as well, for me it just didn't work even when I took it 4 years straight, always shedded the same amount of hairs.

Something weird that I experienced though, after FUE (The second producer), my shedding has stopped for 3 months straight. Something that never happened to me for many years, my entire scalp felt better and not oily etc. I think due to the blood circulation (taking out the grafts and the numbing) actually "Cured" me for couple of months. I tried to pull hairs out, it was impossible, If I go to my donor now and try to pull gently, at least two hairs will go out.

Anyway, I wish you lots of success and will definitely follow this thread. Your beard looks good as well and I believe you have additional 1k+ to take from there.

This is complicated.  Typically a hereditary condition that can come from both sides.  It can even skip generations.  Some people thin early and rapidly, and others are late thinners. No rhyme or reason. Yes, what drives guys is testosterone which is broken down to DHT - which we know is an irritant to the follicle.

Big difference between shedding and hair loss.  Shedding is normal.  100 hair a day is considered normal.  This will happen randomly to all the hair in your head.  The follicle goes into a resting phase for 3-4 months.  That hair will return.  Hair loss is different.

Under a bright light look at the hair in your temporal areas.  Notice each strand.  Some thick, some finer.  Some are so thin you can't hardly see them.  We refer to this process as miniaturization.  Eventually the hair dissipates and disappears.  Once gone, it will not return.

Are you doing any type of medical therapy to help you with retention?

Thanks for the reply! I am still very young and in completely different story, I was just curious if there's an age where the hairloss may stop by itself at some age, let's say 40 or at least slow down (Speaking on those who started to lose theirs hair at an early age and haven't progressed to Norwood 7 by 35 for example.

The biggest issue with hair on the chest, legs etc. is usually the thickness or length never really reaches good length like scalp hair or in some cases beard hair.

Beard hair is also usually thicker and coarse, which can curl and sometimes is a different colour than the scalp for some. So it's also not perfect but it can grow fairly longer than chest or leg hair etc.

That's why medication like Finasteride is such a key part of hair loss prevention imo because if you respond positively it will put you in a greater position to keep the hair you have had and not have to resort to the other sources which are much more difficult and sometimes do not yield a positive impact. Mentally having spent that much money and receiving a sub standard outcome is probably still going to hit as hard.

My legs hair about 2 inch length, I am looking to fill the donor with these hairs so I won't keep them longer than 0.25 inch. My legs are are pretty thick and extremely dark. When I was a child I hated to go with a short because of that 😂 Now at least I hope it will have some use haha

We have performed hair transplant using leg hair as the donor. Please inbox us your contact details and we can get back to you for a detailed consultation. Or you can reach us on +918826473333 or info@eugenix.in

We can also share the pictures and contact details of the patients who have had leg hair (donor) done with us.

I actually sent you a message on Whatsapp about 8 months ago, you mentioned legs are not an option, just chest and beard.

I am actually extrem happy to hear that. Will PM asap.

My Dr said the only viable option after scalp and beard is chest . Whether for filling the crown or donor . He said leg/arm hairs are way too weak . I may have to address the overharvesting situation myself soon and I do not want to do SMP

Thing is, my legs hair are EXTREMELY thick. I also have tons of doubles leg grafts. I am looking to fill between (And also re build the template which is the only place that is virgin scalp).

I am just curious if anyone transplanted legs/arms hair and it actually grew and 2) Which doctor did it before besides Umar.

  7. Hello,

Okay this is a little stupid question but I am really curious how it works, Let's say with FUT producer the doctor will take 2,500 grafts from my back, the width of the strip will be 1.5 CM.

I come back two years later for another fut, then he will take additional 2k grafts, and the width would be 1 CM.

I just took about 2.5 CM width of my head, how come the nape won't start higher (after attaching back the skin), I do know obviously that it doesn't go higher, or make your head look like you pulled  both sides to attach it back but my question is why? If you just took almost 3 cm width of the back of your head, how does the skin and everything looks exactly the same with super thin scar?

    Thanks!

  8. Hi guys,

    I have a question,

To secure a surgery date I know you have to pay in advance an amount of money (About 2,000$).

But when do you have to pay the rest amount? If I have been quoted 13,000$, beside the 2,000$ to pay to secure the surgery, do I pay the other amount at the day of the surgery or before?

And if I have been quoted for 2,500 grafts, but at the end, I will need only 2,000 grafts, do I get a partial refund?

    Thanks!

  9. When you say you're doing an online consult, can you tell me where you are doing it? Are you doing it through our website? Through his website? Maybe there's a technical issue of sorts. If there is, especially if it's on our website, we need to investigate this. I have tested it multiple times recently and it does appear to be working. But you never know, there might be some weird anomaly and I want to figure it out. That said, I would pick up the phone and call him, he is usually very responsive and very hands-on.

    Best wishes,

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

I'm sorry on late reply, I had an holiday in my country which just over today.

I have contacted Dr.Konior through his website, not through this forum (I didn't even know it's possible to contact through here haha).

Anyways, I sent a PM to Spanker so will be fine, thanks a lot!

  10. Anything that is herbal based is good however I would not recommend shampooing "every day" as it's not necessary and some of the oils that our scalp excretes is actually good for our hair and scalp surface.

Thank you so much for your reply,

My hair look really bad and greasy if I won't shampoo everyday, I don't have a choice :(

When you say "herbal based" does the shampoos I have wrote have that?

    (1.REGENEPURE DR

    2.REGENEPURE NT

    3.Johnson's Baby Shampoo)

    Thanks!

  11. Hello guys,

I'm not looking for anything to fight hairloss, just something that I can use without harsh chemicals, I have read that the ingredients in Head and Shoulders are pretty bad to use daily, I'm using this shampoo for couple of years, it makes my hair pretty dry and dead.

I wondering if there's any alternative shampoo, (Not Nizoral), that i can use daily?

From the research I have done I have few in minds and will appericate that if you can let me know what you think :

    1.REGENEPURE DR

    2.REGENEPURE NT

    3.Johnson's Baby Shampoo

I'm basically looking for something that won't make my hair dry, and also won't have any bad effect for daily use like Head and Shoulders.

    Thanks in advance!

  12. Hello everyone,

I was wondering, lets say I want to build my temple\peaks points and the first 1 cm line of my hairline,

As I have read it require 1 hair graft, max 2, does with FUT the doctor can choose which hairs to take? It just doesn't makes sense to me since it's basically a big piece that he just takes and he has no control of which grafts he will get compared to fue, but I may be wrong and wanted to know about it :)

And my second question is, lets say I have miniaturization in my donor area, does with FUE he will be able to get the most healthier hair I got in my donor? (I need only 1000-1500 grafts at most).

    Thanks!

  13. I feel you bro. I just want a HT because it's the natural hair that will be transplanted. I'm not into hair system and SMP bullshit, because then I will feel like I'm pretending to be somebody I'm not, therefore I'd rather be bald than using systems and things because I still wanna do things without ppl realizing it's not my natural hair. But if youre personally happy with it, then so be it.

Btw, it looks like you've come a long way in your hair loss so why have put a HT on hold?

Because there is no way I could become norwood 1 with HT, first of all, since i have the worst genetic ever, I even shedding at my nap area and sides, when i look at my father and all his six brother (Also in my mother side with her two brothers), they all norwood 7, and they have no hair at their nap, their temple went way back (I will be there also in couple of years), but i will still have about 2000-3000 grafts at the heart of my donor area just to fill those temples + build a new hairline and just put full cap hair system behind it (Which is an hair system for the entire head).

I don't feel i'm lying to my self as you have mentioned, well, maybe a little, but I do rather "lie" to my self instead of look at the mirror and be sad, i just know i won't look good without hair, like i said, i'm wearing for 2 years, nobody knows im wearing, my cousins are like "How you still have full head of hair"? they think propecia helps me, all the girls i have been dating in the last 2 years, had no clue i was wearing, they could touch my head during sex and felt nothing because i wear thin skin, it's just like a scalp, you can't feel anything.

Why would I go through the HT if there is NO WAY in the world i will be able to cover the entire scalp, not even 1\3, I still keep searching about HT, i'm still reading every day because I think about the future and I know I will need to have a small HT in couple of years but i prefer to save those grafts just for my temples + hairline instead of just having super thin hair that will look awful.

Listen to HTsoon, i see his comments on every single post, also spanker, those guys are truly helpful and they want the best for you, being bald is sucks, I know, I wanted to die my self, seriously, dying, but be bald with high scar and few hairs on the scalp will look so much worst, you don't want to do this and none top doctor like konior, hasson or rahal will take you as a patient.

and HTsoon is also right about what he has told you, my sides dropt and i can still see some of it will drop, atleast 4 cm, i see it's thinner, i also look at my father and can tell where im going for, if you don't want to go with hair system and I understand, it's not for everyone, i also believe people without hair dressing skills won't be able to take care of it and make it undetecable 100%, you can go with SMP, and if you also prefer not to go with that you better shave everything and live with that, but don't even think to go with HT, that would be the worst decision brother.

  14. I feel you man, I'm 22 years old and started losing my hair when I was 15.5, my father noticed that my crown was thinning when i was sitting, he took me to the doctor and since then my nightmare has began, The doctor looked at my father (Norwood 7), and said there's nothing i can do, i took propecia when I was 16.5, minoxidil twice a day, nothing did not help me, I started searching online, my english is not my first language and it took awhile until it got better, it was very hard for me to understand but i was browsing each day for over 4 hours on forums of HT, Hair systems etc, i started using toppik when i was 16 - 21, i did not swim for 5 years, i gaveup on many things in my life just to have "Hair", nobody knew i was losing my hair, not even my ex who was with me for 3 years, (I woke up every morning 1 hour earlier just to take a shower and reapply the toppik), it started getting wrose when i was 21 and i had to find a solution, after long re-search of HT i understood it was not the right thing for me for few reasons :

1.I was young, and im heading to norwood 7 like my father, there is no way in the world i could have full head of hair with my hairloss, So i did a lot of research about hair systems, i went to salon in my country, paid 2800$, my hair was always pretty short so i wanted them to attach it without shaving it first just to see how it would look, it looked so bad, with super high destiny just like a dead cat on my head, i asked to throw it away, i paid the money and got nothing, but again - I did not giveup, i did some research for few weeks and found a good factory that producing those hair systems for wayyyy cheaper, i bought a custom one I have chose the destiny, kind of base etc etc, I also decided to cut it my self, I knew the only way to be 100% happy is if everything will be done by me, unfurtaneltly i ruin the first one, also the second one, even the forth one... (I did all this after my gf broke up with me, that's also when my hair got way worst), thanks god i have a support family, they gave me up, especially my mother who did not want to me to go bald like my father :P

my 5th system, I did cut it down perfectly and actually copied the hair i had with toppik, i'm wearing for 2 years, fucked over 20 girls, my gf wants me back for almost a year, i started going hard on gym, thanks to my hairloss I opened 2 kinds of business, hair fibers business and I also supply hair systems to hair salons in my country, i lost many of my years as a teenger, but i knew that i prefer to die instead of being bald, and all the hard works, all the fear, all the stress in the end, it was worth it.

I'm sorry that I wrote so many words and I know it's not easy to understand with my english, i just want to tell you that i was in your stage, we are about the same age, i can tell you for sure that hair transplant is not the right thing for you right now (I consider HT my self in 2 years) just for my hairline so i can expose it without fear like with Hair system, but now it's not the time, i think if hair is really important for you, you should give a try to hair systems, i can help you with what ever you need, it took me a lot of time until i understood the kind of bases, what to order, how to attach, what kind of glue\tape is right for me, but in the end, it's worth it, i'm wearing as i have mentioned for 2 years, i swim, i go to pool partys, i sleep with woman, i do what ever I want, none of my friends (Except one that i have told him im wearing, and he still can't see what im talking about), nobody suspect a thing, i wear thin skin (Not lace), which is also impossible to feel when touch, it's like a scalp, the only difference between this and real hair is 0.08 MM and attachment that you have to do your self once a week which takes 1 hour including shower.

Here's some photos with my hair system, i like short style, I also think it's more natural for me, so if you need any kind of help of anything, i can help you like hundreds of people helped me
