  1. I've heard India is a good place to get FUE as balding is a fairly big deal culturally over there so the demand is high. Not sure if that is true though.

Good call avoiding Bosley. $1.32/graft is incredibly cheap so I'm assuming that even with flights yours was less expensive than mine. I hadn't heard of Dr. Bhatti before but I only looked at docs in North America as travelling abroad seemed like a pain in the butt. From looking at his website I'm pretty sure I actually watched one of his YouTube videos at one point. Not that many results on his website, but he uses the Harris SAFE system with a .8 mm punch which is what was used in my procedure too.

My doc was $7/graft which was consistent with the other coalition docs that I contacted for quotes.

    Hi baldlivematter,

Congratulations on getting your HT done. We wish you all the best.

India has definitely become a major hub for all kinds of medical tourism and HT is also way up there in that list. As you would know from your research, cost of the HT should be considered as one of the factors for choosing the HT Surgeon but certainly not the first and/or the only factor. The Surgeon's skill and past Patient results should carry more weight. That said, for the record, the return flights to India, hotel, food etc. should cost within $2000. Travel to India definitely involves a long flight but the travel itself is not too bad. Some airlines offer direct flights from the US to New Delhi, India (from San Francisco SFO, New Jersey). India made its visa application process very easy for US Citizen.....just an online application and a printout to carry with you.

    Happy New Year 2017.

  2. I'd rate this as a mediocre result. Just an honest opinion.

This kind of growth/result with just 2357 grafts=mediocre results?

Mp96, we are all entitled to our opinions but I was wondering if you got a chance to see this Patient's video that was posted.

The comb through is a good gauge of the density of the transplanted hair.

At the end of the day, Patient satisfaction is of prime importance. I know for a fact that this Patient is very happy with his HT results and has been sending us his pictures to share.......is that not what matters the most.....

  3. do you guys have a clinic in California or only India?

    Hi ejojer9,

Dr. Bhatti/Darling Buds India has only one Clinic which is located in Chandigarh, India. Dr. Bhatti does not believe in outsourcing and/or franchising. All the HT procedures are performed by Dr. Bhatti himself.

Pease let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best regards,

    California

  4. Thank you everyone. Your comments mean a lot.

I have this link hence, I am able to open this..Thanks

    Hi Vemaj,

We wish you all the best. I personally know that you have done a ton of research and due diligence in getting to this point.

Your post/thread does show up among the other Forum threads. Not sure why you are not able to see it.

Please keep us posted on your HT procedure and progress. Some post-op pics would be nice.

  5. Hi,

Was this temple point design chosen by the doctor or by the patient?

    http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/attachment.php?attachmentid=101070&d=1480446231

    Hi hsrp10,

Not sure about this particular case but usually it is a combination of both. The discussion takes place during the pre-op consultation. Dr. Bhatti draws the hairline and the temple points and let's the Patient approve or request changes. He moves forward after there is a consensus.

  6. Hi SandeepGeorge,

Please find my responses to your questions below

    1) As of now, I am planning to return next day after the surgery (after hair wash from the clinic). Do you think it is a wise decision or should I stay few more days to see how things span out?

Depends how far you are planning to travel after that. Even though you are "technically" Ok to travel day after the procedure, I would suggest that you stay back one more night in Chandigarh. Go back to your hotel and relax. That way you won't be "rushing" through the Clinic, traffic to the airport, airport security etc.

    2) Is it enough to transfer money after reaching clinic for the first time? Myself and Doctor have approximately agreed upon 2500 grafts. With out knowing the number of grafts being placed how did you pay the full amount before the surgery?

Please note that you will get charged according to the number of grafts that are planted. If that number turns out to be higher or lower than the estimation, then you would end up either paying the difference or getting the difference refunded to you.

    3) Do you advice me to go for PRP along with FUE procedure?

That is totally your call. Maybe the other Forum members can chime in here. As far as I know, there is no proved scientific data backing up the benefits of PRP during an HT. Some of our (Dr. Bhatti's) Patients do opt for PRP. We will be happy to do that for you too, if you wish.

Any other questions, please feel free to ask. You can also email me directly at darlingbudsusa@gmail.com

We are always a phone call or an email away. Happy to help.

  7. Good afternoon friends. I still doubt in choosing a doctor. I do not understand why such a difference in price?. 1) Dr Gaurav Garg (dermalife Clinic) - 35 Rs per unit. 2) Eugenix Hair Sciences- The cost per graft is Rs. 80. 3) Dr Suneet Soni - INR 60 per graft. 4) Mchprashant Yadav - 1 $ per graft. Eugenix Hair Sciences - get the most expensive of these doctors. Why?

    Hi DMITRI77,

Even though cost of hair transplant is an important factor, but it should not be the main factor. My suggestion is that you should research as much as possible and pay more attention to the past Patient cases of the HT doctors. When it comes to HT, the room for error is very little. The more you educate yourself, the better chances you will have of choosing the HT Surgeon that would be right for you. In this industry, the track record of the HT Surgeon is extremely important.

In regards to your pricing question, different Clinics offer different pricing. That is just the norm. That said, the HT market has to support the pricing. If a Clinic is priced too high, they might not get a lot of traction with the potential patients and might have to revise their pricing lower and vice versa.

Again, please use this Forum (and maybe other Forums too) to research as much as possible.

I wish you all the best.

    Best regards,

    California

  8. Nice results Shera. I am at 5 months post op. Check out my blog for snaps. I will hopefully get as good a result as yours.

    Cheers,

    Hi hair99,

Your 5 months post-op pictures/results look nice. Can you please try to upload some more pictures under better lighting. That would be highly appreciated.

I wish you all the best.

    Regards,

    California

  9. Heirlost,

I very strongly urge you not to have an HT before you travel. I took 2 months off between jobs and I can safely tell you you do NOT want to travel anywhere that soon after, especially not backpacking.

California, I'm sorry but I have to call it how I see it: that is TERRIBLE advice. Backpacking 2 days after a procedure would be HELL. As a patient advisor (and I'm hoping the recipient of an HT, preferably from the clinic you represent) I personally feel you should answer more honestly. I realise you're trying to not push the patient and remain impartial, but it doesn't really come across like that. Just my 2c.

    Hi Tj287,

Please read my post again. I NEVER advised him to go backpacking 2 day after his HT. I just said that he should be able to travel (go back home) 2 days after his procedure is done. I had clearly advised him to get done with his travel/backpacking before and NOT after his procedure.

    Best regards,

    California

  10. I could probably arrange it that way. If I get the HT done first, how long should I wait to take the rest of the trip?

    Hi Heirlost,

If you are asking how long after the HT, you should stay back and rest, then my answer would be 2 nights after the procedure. The grafts can take up to 6 days to get rooted into the scalp but as long as you are careful, you should be OK to travel 2 days post-op.

    Best regards,

    California

  11. If I come to India for the HT, it will be at the beginning of 3+ months backpacking around around Europe and possibly Asia. Is there any reason why I shouldn't do this? I could stay for a week or two in India if necessary. I do not want to do anything to jeopardize the success of the hair transplant.

    Hi Heirlost,

Sounds like a lot of fun:)

Is there any way you can do the backpacking first and get the HT done towards the end of your trip. Going backpacking right after an HT procedure might not be advisable. Just my 2 cents.

    Best regards,

    California

  12. Hi Heirlost,

Thanks for sharing. Thank you for your kind words regarding Dr. Bhatti's work.

I personally believe that you are on the right track when you say that you are researching and will continue researching before making your final decision regard your HT Surgeon.

Also, I agree with your views that although price is important but the quality of work is even more important.

Please know that if you need any help from our (Dr. Bhatti's Clinic) side, we are just an email away.

p.s Will be happy to share some tips with you regarding vacationing in India. It is a very interesting country and if you do go there, you have to visit the Taj Mahal!

I wish you all the best.

    Regards,

    California

  13. With all due respect, I would request folks to hold off on jumping to conclusions. As all of you know very well, not every HT result from any HT Surgeon will be a stellar result. I believe that as long as your HT Surgeon is backing his/her work, standing by the Patient and willing to do whatever it takes to help the Patient reach his/her HT goals.....that is what really matters.

Vik had placed his faith in Dr. Bhatti and we take that very seriously. We do not give up on our Patients and/or let them down. Vik is no exception. He has been in constant contact with Dr. Bhatti and is going back to our Clinic in the near future to get the low density issue resolved.

    Best regards,

    California

  14. It's about a week short of being 9 months. I got my hair cut and styled. It might not be a full year yet but I think the end result is will be pretty close to what it is now.

I think the results speak for themselves. There is no doubt it's a huge difference from where I started.

With that said I'm definitely considering a second procedure 5-6 months down the line, this time using body hair which I have a good amount of. I'll be able to touch up the crown and fill in spots up front to get more density. I'm so pleased with the results that I want more and more until there is no room left on my scalp for hair.

I think Dr. Bhatti and his team did a phenomenal job and I'm definitely happy I traveled half way across the world to get this procedure done.

I probably won't be updating this thread with pictures any longer until a 1 year update. However, feel free to post any questions, comments, etc. Thanks for being on this journey with me.

Note: The first picture is another picture before the procedure. The second picture is now!

    Hi Red,

Thanks for sharing your recent pictures. Your hair looks very nice. We are very happy for you. Thanks again for your kind words about Dr. Bhatti and team. It means a lot to us.

In regards to your future plans of going for a BHT, that happens to be Dr. Bhatti's favorite!

We wish you all the best. Please do keep the updates coming. You got a "killer" hairline :)

    Best regards,

    California

  15. Hi Momo99,

Thank you for sharing your HT journey so far. Excellent write up. You really make it all sound like a "breeze":)....which is what it really is....once you decide on the HT Surgeon that you would be going with.

    Love your attitude.......

Your hair looks very nice. Please do keep the updates coming.

    Best regards,

    California
