  1. Raphael-

What an AMAZING result for you. So incredible to see such a detailed and thorough update, and to see your presence in the forums again. I miss seeing you around, as you were one of a couple of fellas on here who were directly responsible for me choosing Dr. Rahal for my procedure......and I too feel that my hair restoration was a life-changing result! It's amazing to feel like a new man again, and to see those "pictures of the past" that remind us how bad our hair really looked before we made the decision to do something about it! Although I totally understand that there isn't a need for you to be on the forums as much, I do hope to see you around more often! Again, congrats on your 1 year milestone. I am posting my 11 month photos this weekend.....which means my 1 year milestone post will be right around Thanksgiving. I certainly hope to summarize my anniversary half as well as you did!! Cheers buddy, and congratulations again! You definitely deserve it!!

    Best,

    Mike

  2. Hi buddy!!! Looking great....I can't believe it's been 3 months already! I remember when I was messaging you just a couple of days before your procedure! You're going to see things take off here in the next month! Really exciting things are up around the corner.....really happy to see your month 4 update!!! =)

How do you feel about things? You getting excited....I'm sure you are noticing some big changes already?!

    Best,

  3. This 43 year-old Investment Broker came to Dr. Rahal after extensively researching the forums to find a surgeon who would produce the specific results he was looking for. Before his hair restoration, this patient would avoid bad-weather days, as he was afraid to deal with what the elements usually did to his thinning hair. He was a Norwood III, and didn't want to deal with the self-esteem issues that went with his hair loss any more. In August 2012, the patient flew to Ottawa to have his procedure in Dr. Rahal's clinic. He received 2205 grafts via FUE. The photos taken and posted here are one year after his procedure. The patient had 450 single grafts, 1081 double grafts, and 674 triple grafts, for a total of 4634 hairs. The patient no longer hides his head under hats, and spends less time worrying about his hair and more time enjoying his hobbies of exercise and golf! He recently stated in an interview that he thinks he went to "one of, if not the very best surgeon in the field". To this day, his hairdresser has no idea that he has had a transplant because of the natural result!!!

  4. Thanks Everyone.

Matt- Luckily I had a pretty decent hair count, as my 4700+ grafts turned into almost 11,000 hairs!! I'm lucky I had decent hair characteristics!

Stagger- LOL it was fun to play with, although a Fuaxhawk isn't practical for everyday wear......lol I don't know that they'd like that much in Nursing School if I showed up like I did to the festival!

    Cheers everyone!!

  5. HOLY HECK!!! I can’t believe it’s been 10 months since my procedure. It really has just flown by.

I just wanted to update everyone here as to my progress to date. I haven’t really seen any big changes from month 9 to 10, but I certainly don’t think that’s a bad thing; considering everyone who sees my hair now loves it. I finally got the nerve to cut it pretty short this last time around, after I wore it long for a pretty large amount of the Summer. The first few photos were taken at a festival I attended. My hair was worn long, and spiked up on multiple occasions. I have to say, I really enjoyed wearing my hair long and spiky!! It was pretty cool, and I will most likely begin growing it out again.

Part of the reason I cut it short this time around, was that I had requests to see my hairline more readily in photos, as my bangs were covering it up. I shaved the sides of my head down to a 3 guard, and used a 6 guard on top….and blended the two into one another. As you can see from my profile shots, there is a small area on my left side (behind my ear) where I had a bit of shock loss that hasn’t fully grown back. I’m still optimistic that it will…..as I heard sometimes it just takes a bit!! Otherwise, my scar is barely visible at a 3 guard. Next summer, I think I’m going to completely buzz my head again, just to see what the scar looks like all healed up! Because it was a Dr. Rahal incision, I’m sure it looks amazing!! =)

The photos taken here were all taken with my iPhone 4S. I tried to take as many shots from as many different angles as posible, to portray how my head would look if you were to walk around it and view it from all angles. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my procedure. Best decision I’ve ever made, hands down!! I feel that my right side my be a little thin still in the frontal scalp, but I’ve heard it is not uncommon to have a shed and then it will come back thick again. Also, I plan to have my mid-scalp and a little more crown work done next year, so I can always have it addressed when I return!!

The first 3 photos taken were all taken with my hair grown out. You can see in these 3 photos that my hair is spiked. The rest were all taken at home, AFTER I cut my hair. The photos taken with my hair long, were taken just shy of the 9 month, 3 week mark! The rest were ALL taken exactly 10 months post-op!!

As always, if you have any questions/comments/concerns, please don’t hesitate to share them with me. I want to share my experience with people in the most honest way; in hopes that I can help others make the decision to have a hair restoration an easier one!! =)

Thanks for reading everyone! Link to my 10 month photos are below!!

    Until next month……..

    Agenteye's 10 Month Post-Op Photos!

  6. Hey Stinger-

As promised, I'm returning to answer the questions to your inquiry. You're correct in your estimation that the 2733 grafts went into the patients frontal scalp, and not any into his crown. I was able to view the patients graft placement, and can confirm this information. The patient is most likely experiencing improvements in his crown from Rogaine/Fin. I hope this helps!

  7. This 38 year-old Web Developer came to Dr. Rahal because of his thinning hair. He was a Norwood VI, and felt that his hair loss was getting in the way of his life. He received 2733 grafts via FUE, and followed up with the clinic one year from his procedure so that we could document his progress to date. The patient said he feels 10 years younger, and that having the hair restoration was easily the best thing he's ever done for himself; as it has completely restored his confidence. The patient had 647 single grafts, 1116 double grafts, 968 triple grafts, and 2 quads, for a total of 5791 hairs.

  8. Mouse666666,

As Bill mentioned above, I am also a little late to this thread. I've been out of town for the past 10 days. It looks like several of your posts were edited, so I didn't know where your thoughts were currently on your procedure. I just wanted to chime in here and say that you were in great hands with your surgeon, and that the clinic takes pride in customer satisfaction. I think you are going to really be happy with your results in the end. It has only been a couple of weeks for you.....and the early days of a hair restoration are mentally/physically trying on a patient. I hope that you know you were in great hands and that it will all work out to a very satisfactory result. In six months time, you will be very happy that you had the procedure done. Looking at your photos, the work looks very clean.

I am here to help in any way that I can....so please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or just want someone to chat to. I went through the same doubts in the beginning, and now I couldn't be happier that I had my transplant.

    Chin up buddy! =)

    Mike

  9. Hey Mr. P-

Looking right where it should be buddy........you are right on track to a great result! =) My scalp/hair looked very similar to yours at the 2 month mark......and by 3 months, the fun really began! I am looking forward to seeing your next post! =) Going to be awesome when it all starts growing in for you here really soon!

    Best,

    Mike
