  1. Here is link will several testimony about BIFA https://www.amazon.com/forum/health?cdThread=Tx3KPQQ92HRAC3O
  2. Harryforreal, let me know what he says. I had some grafts transplanted in the hairline area and it has been stable for 20+ years and it started receding in the last year or so. So I am wondering if 1) its the botox as the article indicates BIFA 2) or the transplanted hair that is thinning out over time (senescent alopecia).
  3. This article was recently published in 2016. I did a Google search and the topic comes up in discussion forums. The last thing you want is to create another problem (hairline recession) while fixing one (forehead wrinkles). Anyone out there with knowledge on how to approach this and if its reversible if you stop the botox ?
  4. Hi, I just came across this article (see link) and was wondering if anyone has heard or experienced this ? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5096242/ Is it reversible (non-scarring) or permanent (scarring)? If you stop the botox does the hair come back, if so how long does it take ? Is it preventable i.e. if you use a lower dose of botox or avoid injecting close to the hairline ? Are there any treatment modalities ? i.e. minoxidil 5%, PRP, Lasercomb, finasteride…..etc ? Any thoughts or comments ?
  5. Hi, as anyone experimented with either drug for MPB ? They are used to treat Alopecia areata. They also inhibit PDG2 which was found by Dr. Cotsaris to be present in excess amount in male with hair loss.
  6. I would tell them I want a refund and stand my ground. I would also go see a top FUE expert to get a second opinion. The redness in the front of your scalp is possibly a sign of infection and I would have it checked. If the FU were not harvested properly they could have been transected thus the reason you have poor growth.
  7. Do you need to remove hair fibers at night or can you apply Rogaine foam over it ? I am ok with applying Rogaine foam first in the morning and then hair fibers but at night I don't want necessarily to wash my hair again. Any thoughts or comments ?
  8. I used a caffeine shampoo for 3 monte (N2 shamppo) .It worked well for two months and after that I got red bumps all over my scalp and my hair started thinning. I was using it everyday but I believe it might be too harsh for daily use. It really stopped the shedding and was impressed but it seems that it stops woking after a while. Anyone care to share their experience with caffeine shampoo ?
  9. Spex, I did 340 FUE into the scar about year ago with moderate growth . I am told that it usually takes two sessions into a scar to get good coverage. would there be any contraindication to do SMP before to get some coverage of the scar and do beard FUE into the scar afterwards ? Theses scars ar a significant problem as you get older and your rim hair thins.
  10. If I were to combine SMP and FUE into scar. which should be done first ? My thought is SMP followed by FUE ? What do you think ?
  11. Hi Ithought I would post the response I got from Spex. Hi, I had temp SMP with Milena Lardi back in June and no anaesthetic was used at all. The treatment was not painful at all even into the scar area. Shockloss has NOTHING to do with pain. It is associated to the amount of trauma the scalp and existing hair undergoes. Minoxidil is alcohol and one of the things recommended to avoid as can effect the pigment. It can certainly cause early fading of the temp SMP. Regards Spex
  12. Thanks Spex, do you any recommandations in terms of places that do SMP in Canada close to Montreal,Quebec ? Does Dr. Feller do it. I have not seen before or after photos on is website ? Thanks
  13. Hi, I am considering trying SMP to camouflage a strip scar. I called a few clinics and they seem to have different protocols concerning local anesthesia. Some use a topical cream , some give you an injection similar to what you get for a HT procedure, some say you don't need anything (which I doubt). I have two questions; 1) is this procedure painful and what is recommended in terms of anesthetics ? if the pain is reduced to a minim will that prevent surrounding hair shock loss ? 2) Does applying minoxidil after the procedure prevent potential hair shock loss ? Thanks

  15. Anyone had an SMP procedure with Dr. Jones in toronto that could share their impressions ?
  16. Theres a lot of conflicting information and user experience with shampoo and drugs (minoxidil, propecia) that its hard to get a clear picture. I believe that 1% ketoconazole should be in there but how many times a week ? No one kows for sure but 1-3 times seems like a safe bet depending on how it dries your scalp . I use it at night and use a volumizing shampoo in the morning. Nioxin, Tricomin shampoo with conditioner or l'Or?al Body vive. Just curious to know why the caffeine shampoo I was using seemed to lose effectiveness after 2 months. this was the BEST shampoo that I had used so far better than Ketoconazole shampoo. Still would like to know if it can be used with rogaine ? Can anyone comment ?
  17. I don't recommend it because it triples the absorption of minoxidil which may be a good thing but also triples the risks of side effects. Thomas 2012 FYI if you look at the list of ingredients with Lipogaine it contains retin-a. I had been using minoxidil liquid and foam for years with no side effects. Decided to try Lipogaine and after three weeks I got headaches, shortness of breath and periorbital edema all signs of Minoxidil over absorption. Some people use Lipogaine with no side effects but be careful and on the lookout for any of those side effects. So I stick with Regenepure shampoo and minoxdil foam for now because too many side effects from finasteride.
  18. There is conflicting information about the use of both for hair loss because caffeine shampoo (Alpecin or N2 shampoo) which contains caffeine is a vasoconstrictor and Rogaine a vasodilator. Plus there is data showing that caffeine augments skin permeability ( so less minoxidil could be absorbed by the skin). So shampooing in the morning and then applying Rogaine would not be a good thing because of they have opposing effects. What do you think ? Would less rogaine also be absorbed ? Would it be better to use caffeine in the morning and rogaine at night only ? The caffeine shampoo that I used daily worked well for the first two months (less shedding , some fine hair growth along temple area, more bounce and fullness to hair) but seemed to lose some of its efficacy after that and my hair seem to be thinning. Has anyone heard or experienced this ? Thanks for your help
  19. Well I tried Regenepure and its seemed to thicken my hair but I don't believe it should be used daily but maybe 3 times a week. The best result I got to stop shedding was N2 caffeine shampoo but after 2 months it seemed to lose effectiveness and my hair seemed to get thinner.I also read that it should not be used at the same time as Rogaine (vasodilator) because of opposing effects. Does anyone have any success combining the two or could share their experience ? I am going back to Regenepure for now.
  20. Anyone out there with experience combining Caffeine shampoo (Alpecin or N2 shampoo) with Rogaine ?

Tried Lipogaine and got periorbital edema which is still lingering after 4 months (I believe the retin-A in Lipogaine causes too much minoxidil absorption in my case). also tried Lasercomb for one year and did not see much happening. The caffeine shampoo worked well for the first two months (less shedding , some fine hair growth along temple area, more bounce and fullness to hair) but seemed to lose some of its efficacy after that. 22. Day 21 update: Swelling is going down slowly (about 75% from baseline). swelling is going down faster on the right side than on the left side (possibly due to my sleeping position). Quick update on Caffeine shampoo. So far so good. It seems to have stopped my hairloss or at less minimize it (with daily use). Hair has more fullness and bounce to it. I have also noticed some fine vellus hair starting to sprout around the temple area. This shampoo seems too effectively block DHT and help miniaturized hair to start regrowing. I have read a lot of positive reviews on the internet even know there are no large phase 3 clinical trials and I doubt anyone would invest millions of dollars to do one because there is not patent protection. In my case it seems to work even better than ketoconazole (1%) shampoo. Did any of your patients report success using it or Ketoconazole based shampoo ?
  23. Hi, here is my update at day 14 of stopping minoxidil-retinA-Azelaic acid combo. Things are improving but very slowly. As you said tissue inflammation comes quickly but goes away slowly. I would say that swelling is down about 60-65% from baseline. I looked at the Loniten product monograph and this drug when given orally must be given in combo with a diuretic because it can cause severe edema/fluid retention. Since I got shortness of breath as a symptom I must have absorbed quite a bit of minoxidil. Will continue to monitor the situation until I get back to normal before restarting Rogaine 5% (without retina-a). On the good side I have started using N2 shampoo (caffeine based shampoo) and it really thickens my hair and seems to slow down/stop hair shedding. This is one of the best shampoo for hair loss that I have used along with Regenepure shampoo (1% ketoconazole).I know that in England there is a similar shampoo called Alpecin C1 that is very popular for hair loss. they claim that caffeine blocks DHT in the scalp for 24 hours, so it must be used daily. What are you thoughts on caffeine based shampoo for hair loss ?
