I once had this girlfriend/friend who was really shocked when I said I was considering a HT. Its funny because she had a boob job and was anything but natural. She said she didn't want to imagine me being so vain.

It's like when a guy has a 6 pack. Most girls don't want to know that he did 1000 sit ups before bed each night for the last year and stared into the mirror a billion times. They just want to think he looks good naturally with some rainbow-unicorn-magic somehow.

It's a double standard but I would think a bit if you are unsure about telling her. It could turn her off.....or she'll be 100% fine with it, but if you ever break up she might mention it to others at some point, either on purpose or just in passing.

Yes. Propecia can really stop hair loss. It slowed mine to a halt and bought me a few more years with my hair.

You really ought to consider consulting with one or more of this site's Coalition docs or Recommended docs who practice FUE for a second opinion before letting the doc who performed this procedure have a second go at you.

Hmmmm. It doesn't seem like 3k's worth of growth. Almost looks like if you cut your hair the same as pre op it might look like you got half that.....I could be wrong though.

Don't believe the myth that it won't thin until you're 80. I'm 45 and my so-called safe area has been thinning for years. My transplanted area keeps thinning as the years go by and the donor area is so thin that I can't cover the scars. You can see my pictures in my profile if you don't believe me.

The HT was supposed to give me more hair, not leave me with less.

How would one know if they might end up with such minimal scarring?

Is it all just how a person heals?

Can we look at old scars on our bodies (legs/old scratches/operations etc.) and be able to judge how a HT scar might turn out?

Does it all just come down to scalp laxity?
