  1. TRX2™ Molecular Hair Growth Complex was developed based on laboratory experiments that turned closed, dysfunctional potassium channels into open, fully activated potassium channels.*

The proprietary potassium channel-stimulating complex within TRX2™ contains a patent pending combination of micro-nutrients. Potassium, L-carnitine, BCAA and nicotinic acid work with your body to postpone-hair loss and stimulate the growth of hair follicles on a molecular level.*

How TRX2™ Molecular Hair Growth Supplement Works*

TRX2™ Molecular Hair Growth Supplement acts on potassium channels, small pore-forming protein structures that control the transport of potassium ions across the hair follicle’s cell membrane. Healthy potassium channels are essential for maintaining the hair follicle’s full biological activity. TRX2 scientists have demonstrated that as people experience hair loss the function of potassium channels within hair follicles diminishes. The effect is impaired membrane potential and interrupted ion transportation across the hair follicle’s cellular membranes – resulting in shrinking follicles and thinning hair. Based on this research, TRX2 devised an elegant solution for stimulating hair growth on a molecular level: The stimulation of potassium ion channels within hair follicles. TRX2™ Molecular Hair Growth Supplement facilitates the entry of fuel (amino acids, lipids and regulatory compounds) into the hair follicle and stimulates the production of new potassium channels – postponing hair loss and growing new, healthy hair.

TRX2™when used in combination with minoxidil

Topically applied minoxidil is one of the most widely used treatment options against male and female pattern hair loss. However, the clinical outcome of minoxidil based treatment regimen is often disappointing. In many cases the response rates are limited and efficacy decreases or disappears over time after continued use.

Originally minoxidil was developed as an oral antihypertensive drug, but a frequent side-effect was hair growth. The detailed mechanism of action of minoxidil on hair follicles is unclear. However, known as a potent potassium channel opener, it can be assumed that the drug targets the same tiny protein structures (potassium channels) TRX2™ does. Recent studies reveal that the ability of minoxidil to bind to potassium channels and function as an effective channel opener within human hair follicles varies among patients. This may be because every patient has different genetic susceptibilities.

TRX2™’s potassium channel activating nutrients work well in combination with existing minoxidil based treatment regimens such as Rogaine™ (Regaine™ or RIUP™). Our proprietary TRX2™ Hair Growth Complex has been shown in studies performed to date to boost overall efficacy of minoxidil treatment and to significantly improve the results even in those patients who have not previously experienced positive responses.

Listed below are some of the specific beneficial effects observed at the cellular level:

    Cellular level

    1. Increased membrane potential of dermal papilla cells in hair follicles*

    2. De novo
      synthesis of potassium channels*

    3. Enhanced potassium channel activity & functionality*

    4. Hyperpolarized hair follicles*

This product is specifically designed for patients suffering from the early stages of hair loss (Norwood 1-4). Some of the benefits reported by those who regularly take three TRX2™ Molecular Hair Growth Supplement capsules per day include:

    Visual level

    • The cessation of hair loss*

    • The re-growth of hair follicles – including frontal region and temple area*

    • Visibly stronger & thicker hair shafts*

    Hello Hariri,

I don't have any personal experience with this product. I guess one could take the approach that almost anything is worth a try. However, I find myself chagrin because of the consistent victimization of hair loss sufferers. Independent studies by reputable medical researchers should be done before embracing the next miracle cure. The following is the advertised blend of the product (Potassium, BCAA, Nicotinic Acid) with a natural energy-generating substance (Carnipure™ tartrate). The last ingredient simply being the amino acid L-carnitine. All these ingredients are available in various natural health supplements in different proportions though maybe not in the concentrations of the product.

My point here is that hair loss sufferers have been down this road before and bilked for millions of dollars. I suggest proceed with extreme caution or better yet wait for verifiable independent research proof and not anecdotal stories. All the Best, Michael

  2. Hi guys, for the past year or two I noticed I had a bald patch at the back of my head and ever since I have been self conscious about it. I forget about it some times but at the moment I feel like its gotten much much worse and now I'm really self conscious. Coupled with my oddly shaped head it really brings my confidence down. I think it may have happened because when I was younger (12-14) I used to twist the hair on my crown for ages... I dont know why I just did, but yeah.. is there any advice you can give me? Thanks

    Hello,

First of all you should not be taking Propecia or any medication without a doctors prescription and your age alone makes it not a good idea at all. Your picture looks fine and the density of the swirl at the crown of your head is not something you should worry about mate. Our coming of age years are challenging for us and self image goes through quite an evolution. These are also some of the most exciting times of our lives. I really don't see anything there for you to worry about. If really worried see your family doctor or dermatologists. Most importantly ... Go have some fun, nothing to be worried about at 17 years old. All the Best, Michael

  3. How long should I wait before using Nizoral again after a hair transplant?

    Thanks.

    Hi 362guy,

You have made an important decision in having your HT and a considerable investment. Continue to use the top medical advice and follow their post surgical instructions. The best advice is to continue to use professional medical advice to continue your journey in alleviating your hair loss. All the Best, Michael

  4. Oppps sorry, meant to say "I regret nothing more than having MY procedure" not sure why I typed it like that. Only had one procedure.

    Hello Mickey85;

Many people can regret their surgery; the most common reason is that they made a poor selection in choice of surgeon. In any business medical or otherwise there are levels of competency in skill and integrity in business. The HTN community is a legitimate community to assist and help the consumer in that choice. We cannot change the regret that you have, the important thing is to help you to move forward. I cannot say that another surgery can resolve this issue. However, I do know that in our practice we have been highly successful and assisting people in situations similar to yours. The best hair restoration doctors are not just trying to gain another HT surgery but rather help their patients come up with the best solution to their hair loss and helping them restore self image and esteem. I truly hope this helps you find a new path to improving your experience in resolving your hair loss. All the Best, Michael

  5. Hi guys,

I've read about hair transplants for a while now and am ready to take the plunge hopefully soon. But there is one thing that still puzzles me, and I thought before I hassle one of the many qualified Physicians with the question I'll try my luck here, hoping the answer could also benefit others.

I'm interested in FUE and FUE only.

How does a Dr. determine how many hairs he can harvest from a given donor area, or in other words, how many does he actually harvest. Do they have rules that they take for example only one out of tree existing hairs and leave the others?

I've heard about Docs saying that a donor area is depleted, how is that determined? Do they do a hair count on a given area and don't go below a certain density, maybe 45/cm2 ?

Obviously hair needs to be left behind, but how much?

I think you get my drift, I've not come across an answer to that question yet and hope you can help. In case no one knows anything about this I will ask my Dr. of choice and post the answer (or an interpretation of it) here.

    Many thanks,

    Hairmore

    Hi Hairmore;

HT doctors with good experience are looking at several factors when it comes to donor hair counts availability; 1) The future prediction of MPB, though the back and sides are permanent zones where hair is resistant to DHT there are certainly patients who have more recession on the hairline at the sides of the head and also more loss from the crown where the pattern extends down into the back of the head. So in such instances there is a lesser pool of available donor hair, so future prediction of MPB is a vital consideration 2) The texture, thickness of the hair shaft and overall density are also factors in consideration of the donor hair pool for initial surgery and for additional surgeries if they are planned.

These factors make each case so uniquely individual that only your surgeon can give you an accurate count after a thorough microscopic evalutation and consult. I know this does not give you anything to estimate with on your own but the truth is this critical factor of planning in HT can only be determined through the services of a HT surgeon and preferably one of those recommended on HTN. All the Best, Michael

  6. I was wondering why if the downsides of FUE seem to come from the fact that the grafts are out in the air too long and possible transections why don't the doctors work like this:

    1. Do 100-200 grafts (lets say)

    2. take a break while assistants place those grafts

    3. do 100-200 more etc.

This would reduce the time the grafts are out in the open and also because the doctor would be better rested it would cut down on mistakes and transections.

Seems simple. What do you guys think?

    Hello Magnumpi;

This is a great question regarding the use of FUE. Of course you are most aware that the shear human demand on physician and medical technicians makes reducing the number of grafts a feasibility issue for some doctors. ISHRS now has a committee specifically researching issues regarding FUE. Also the chairman of that committee Dr. Parsa Mohebi (I work for him) has done studies on the viability of grafts outside the body in an effort to find an optimum time between extraction and implantation. I think you may request that he join this thread and provide his insights on this. He is recommended on this forum here:

  7. Hey speed-bird,

You may very well be a candidate for a hair transplant, however the number of grafts that could be extracted might be an issue. Of course, the best bet would be to consult with a doctor and have him evaluate your scalp. From there on, he or she will be able to provide you with everything necessary to get you on the right path. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck! All the best, Michael.

  8. Hi Doug,

Thank you for sharing story. You've come to the right place since so many people in this community express the same feelings as you. Losing hair can be very emotionally distressing, especially at a younger age. You can definitely learn a lot here from others and the road they took to improve their self-image and esteem. Although it may be difficult, try not to dwell on the negatives too much. You will eventually find the right doctor to help educate you about hair transplantation and guide you in the right direction. Don't forget to keep us posted. All the best, Michael.

  9. Hi there Mallyboy,

Congrats to you on your new journey! This is surely an exciting time in your life and waiting for those results must be making you anxious! Remember not to overexert yourself and get some good rest during the first few days after the procedure. It would be great if you could keep us updated since this can be a good learning experience for those who are still considering a hair transplant. It is always nice to get a first-hand perspective from the patient themselves on their experience.

  10. Hello there Houston123,

Congrats to you on your new journey! It is always nice to hear from patients post-op and learn about their experience. Write-ups like these are great for those who are considering a hair transplant procedure. As you mentioned, rest is definitely important during the first few days after operation, even if you do start feeling a little claustrophobic at home. As far as Finasteride goes, some patients are hesitant about taking it, especially the younger ones. However, it is generally advised by physicians that post-op patients start taking Finasteride for up to 3-6 months since it has been proven to help reduce shock loss. Some decide to continue using it after that time period because it is working well for them, while others decide to switch to Minoxidil. Good luck to you on whatever you decide and don't forget to keep us updated. All the best, Michael.

  11. Hi TommyLucchese,

As mentioned prior, there are numerous factors that can contribute to hair loss. For those who are concerned about their hair, maintaining a healthy diet is something that should not be overlooked. However, controlling your stress levels can also play a major role. In today's world, stress is often unavoidable, but can be reduced. Generally, speaking it is important to note that alopecia related to stress and not minaturization from the effects of DHT is not normally treated by a hair transplant. Of course, living a balanced lifestyle is the best way to remain healthy on both the inside and outside.

  12. Hello everybody,

The following case is an example of how His Hair Clinic works when the objective is to eliminate an scar from a previous HT procedure with Strip method. In order to achieve this has been used the particular Micropigmentation procedure patented by His Hair.

    Hello Escar,

We are initiating our services in SMP at our centers. It clearly has beneficial applications in medical hair loss solutions. Scar revision which is an area of speciality that we also provide is such an area. The work here is excellent and demonstrates the positive results that can be achieved with SMP. All the Best, Michael

  13. I am a 23 years old girl and I have been suffering hair loss since last year.

    .

Last summer i had experienced a very stressful courses from June. I started to realise my hair had become thinner around august. Since my hair has always been thin and fine, the sudden thinning makes me really worried.

I went to see some so call "hair expert" who sell very expensive treatment. I didn't continue because it was too expensive and doesn't really works. The hair expert said i hv diffuse hair loss and I m lack of iron. After that i started to eat more especially red meat and I also started taking supplement that is for women's hair skin and nails. (I have taken it for 3 months). After I stopped the treatment, i went to see doctor as I really want to find out the cause. Blood test were performed and everything turns out very normal (iron level, thyroid, etc). And the doctor told me it's because of stress. But I did not really think so as my hair didnt hv signs to grow back.

I went to see some other doctors. One of then told me it's because I have nose allergy so this makes me didnt sleep well and hence hair doesnt grow. Once again, I do not think this is the real trigger of my hair loss.

My hair loss continues. Around Nov to Dec, I found that my other body hairs are falling off more compared with the past. (Eg more nasal hair, eyebrows, pubic hair etc fall off, some short and fine body hairs also fall off , which I haven't experienced in the past.)

I then went to see the dermatologist last week. The derm diagnosed me with Male pattern hair loss. He prescribed me for 2% minoxidil. He said I have too use at least 3 bottles in order to see result. I have researched online and noticed that hair will fall once stopped using it so i do not really want to use it unless there are no other ways to help with my hair loss. I still believe there are some other cause for my hair loss. I may associate my period pain to my hair loss. I have irregular periods and very serious pain on the first day. I am not sure if this may be the cause.

Until now my hair loss still continuing. I do not really loss many many hair but it's more than in the past and my hair seems not growing back after it falls off. Also my short and fine hairs fall off as well.

Does anyone know about the potential cause of my hair loss?

If it is really male pattern hair loss, I think I may consider taking Minoxidil or Yasmin (hormones). Anyone hv tried these?

Can anyone help with some advise?

    Thanks.

    Hello eminlik,

I understand your concerns and angst. Female hair loss is a complicated issue and is a speciality in the centers I advocate for. I am posting some links here to help you inform yourself. Also, you can schedule a free Skype consult with Dr. Mohebi to advise you if you need. All the Best, Michael

  14. I had an FUE operation on 1st June and here we are just over 6 months later and I only have about 15-20% growth. I am very disappointed and not very optimistic about it improving. I would have thought that after 6 months one should expect to see about 50% growth? I have been in touch with my Surgeon (whom I don't want to mention at this stage) who has told me that it is still early days yet and more will grow, however, I am not convinced as I look identical to what I did before the op.

    Hello HairyBadger;

I fully understand your angst looking at your photos. Of course it is true that you may be a slow grower as pointed out. There are some questions that I would like to ask.

    1) Did you physcian conduct a FOX test prior to surgery?

    2) What method of harvesting was used, robotic or manual device?

    3) How many follicular units were transplanted?

    4) Did you use finesteride pre-op?

    5) Were you subscribed finesteride post-op?

    6) Did you use a recommended surgeon from HTN?

    6) Could you post a side by side photo from the same exact angle as your post op?

I appreciate your position and this information can be pertinent in your situation. All the Best, Michael

  15. Hi, I'm 25 turning 26 soon and really considering doing my first FUE transplant to restore a receding hairline.

I live in central California and was wondering who are some of the best FUE surgeons in California? Money is not really an issue and I'm willing to travel outside of California if I need to. I just want to do it right the first time.

Some doctors I've considered are Dr. Umar and Dr. Rahal. Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello plyo77;

I can also recommend the center and surgeon to whom I am a patient advocate as recommended here on HTN: Parsa Mohebi, M.D Hair Transplant Surgeon in Encino - Los Angeles, California

All the Best with whomever you choose, Michael

  16. I am 17 days post-op an FUE hair transplant, and I can already say it is the worst mistake I have ever made. I'm am posting this so anyone considering a hair transplant, will come across this when "googling" and researching and avoid the mistake I made.

I had a receding hairline for about 3-4 years, but had stabilized it with Rogaine and propecia. I had no problem buzzing/shaving my head, but I was looking to recover some of my hairline. At 29 years old, this would not be an uncommon desire for most men.

I had consulted with a HT specialist about two years ago, but was scared off by the cost. However, I decided to go back recently and proceed with the procedure. The staff was very professional and friendly, from what I can tell my procedure and healing has been very fast and typical, I will not go into detail on the procedure and healing, anyone can handle that part.

So I went with the doctors recommendation of 1200 grafts to fill in my hairline. When the scabs came off in my recipient area, there was hair. The density however was nowhere near the density of my other hair. I am not a severe case by the way, I might be a Norwood 2.

So here I am, back where I started, yet worse. I can't shave my head because of the donor site, and probably never will be able to.

I realize my new hair won't reach "full effect" until 12 months after the surgery, so please don't bother pointing that out. BUT the general consensus is that before the shock loss occurs that "what you see is what you will probably get".

So naturally I spoke with the doctor and voiced my concern. He says we can tak a look in six months, and add another 400 grafts or so then. More surgery!? My hair loss was minor in most respects! He said that any more density that he would have added in the first surgery would have been lost anyway.

My level of satisfaction is 0 out of 10. I was better off before. Now I am a hermit, and ashamed for my head to be seen in public. Again, I'm a fast healer, that is not the issue.

Don't be fooled by the blogs and pages showing a great head of hair appearing, then disappearing, then reappearing in 12 months. It's not as simple as all that.

Save your money, save your time, save your scalp.

Don't end up like me, already regretting your hair transplant before your new hair has even fallen out!!!! This is supposed to be the "honeymoon phase", but trust me, it's anything but!

I hope this post gets searched and read a whole lot, so someone else can avoid such a huge, costly, and pointless mistake.

    Hello BummedinCA,

Again I have great empathy with you as you have related your experience. However, I am remiss that you did not give evidence to your angst with some pics in the process that is so much more helpful to forum users. Could you post some? Of course though you may not like it; it is to early to tell on the success of your procedure and you do have to wait it out. I am curious as to what mechanism was utilized robotic, automate or handheld device extraction by a surgeon. Your update on these and inclusion of pictures would lend a lot of creedance to this thread. Thanks, all the best, Michael.

  17. Hi there Jfox,

Many men start to experience hair loss at around your age, or even younger. One of our patients, a 25 year old male, just recently had a hair transplant procedure done because he expressed many of the same feelings that you have. However, it is still difficult to tell how far your hair loss will actually progress. If you are concerned, then the best bet would be to schedule a consultation with a doctor and have him evaluate you. Also, you may want to consider Finasteride with the approval of your doctor. All the best, Michael.

  18. Of course continue research beyound ancedotal is really necessary for all medical advancements. Also important is the contraindication of any other components with the natural supplement. As a patient advocate I just like to emphase to hair loss patients that at present no homeopathico or naturopathic remedy alone has been proven at the clinical level to effectively stop hair loss or accelerate hair growth. I hope that future research discovers more altternatives. All the Best, Michael

  19. I saw prince William on the tv last night, and I was thinking why doesn't he get a hair transplant. He would have the money or maybe he is to far gone and would need at least2 procedures with his amount of hairloss I'd say he is a Norwood 5.Do you think he is to far gone to have restoration?

    Hello Brone,

He is pretty thin there the "man who would be king." Appearance can be deceiving. He appears to have a good amount of donor hair, but maybe of a fine texture. Without a microscopic evaluation to predicate the advancement of MPB this would only be conjecture. It is curious that he does not take advantage of the modern growth of hair restoration.

Perhaps, he just doesn't like the idea of surgery, has learned that he is a less than ideal candidate; who knows. He will most likely be king and probably is just not hung up over the idea of being bald. All the Best, Michael.

  20. What do you do when you have mis-matched angles in your hairline that clump and point different directions?

Can you take them out and replant or do you build around?

    Any ideas?

    Hi there East Coast,

A native of the frigid Northeast here; but sunny Southern Cal finally got me; guess why...lol. One of the most rewarding things we get to do in the practise here is exactly what your asking. Repairing or redeisgning older or inferior HTs. So simple mate, it can be corrected and improved in the hands of the better HTN recommended surgeons. Get an online consult from several and make the choice that suits you. All the Best, Michael

  21. Hi,

I noticed blood in two places in recipient area yesterday. I cleaned it with towel and had shower. Today again I noticed blood in same two areas. I couldnt see any pimple there.

Yes I admit I scratched a little during applying shampoo. I had HT almost 2 months back. What can be the reason for it.Did I damage my grafts?

    Hi amanmehra11,

Hopefully, you have no soreness and are only experiencing a minor case of folliculitus. If it continues further take the safe route and call your HT doctor, mate. All the Best, Michael

  22. Hey,

First off i want to say im super happy that i found that forum. After reading abit through i realized with joy in my heart that there seem be alot of very experienced ppl that got the same problem im getting now since a long time. So thx for reading this and maybe helping a young german padawan on his way...

This is the first time im asking for help because of my hairs somewhere, i tried to tell myself its just imagination that my temples are thinning up, but i went to see a dermatologist today and he also said that it looks like my hairs on the temples are thinning. I had a receding hairline all my life already, but im pretty sure it got worse within the last year, since it just doesnt look normal anymore to me.

Unfortunatly im one of those ppl that care alot about how they look and the fact that my hair is thinning with 20 years already totally crushes me, because i always loved my hairs. Im thinking about it at least 20 times a day and it makes me feel super bad everytime. At the moment im just sitting here and not sure what the best line for me, feeling kinda desperate

I was thinking about starting with finasterid already 2-3 months ago, but what i read about the sideeffects sounded so bad that i was too scared starting with it. Especially the part where it said not outgrown man should never take it makes me really wanna stay away from it. Im also going to the gym, so i kinda need the testosterone to build muscles and i guess finasterid is bad for that matter right? (not sure about that, just sounds logical to me)

So heres the plan that i have in mind and i would like to hear your opinions about it and what you(after prob years of experience) would do in my position.

First step of my plan was living healthier, i started that already 2 months ago, i am eating alot of vegetables/fruits, less meat and stopped eating (bad) sugar. Im also taking quite alot of supplements like zinc, fish oil, vitamine complex, wheatgrass etc. Also doing things like drinking alot of water daily etc.

Second step, im using a anti hairloss shampoo since 1 month, some thai brand that i dont really know, trying to figure out which one is the best on the market, which one would u suggest?

Third step that i started recently is applying 5% minoxidil on my temples twice a day.

For the third step im thinking about a hairtransplantation with dr path, since i moved to thailand 2 years ago anyway, i wouldnt even have to travel or sth.

I want to fill out the 2 temples abit more, not much tho, after seeing all the pics id guess i only might need like 500 grafts or sth, i know thats not much but it would make me feel alot better.

Thats basically the short version... so what do you think about it? is there anything i should add that gonna help me or anything i need to know?

    Any help is much appreciated

    Shine

    Hi Time2Shine;

Be as healthy as you can...that's a sure fire way to go, mate!

I love a well thought and organized plan. Your postive outlook reeks from the screen, that is awesome. Minoxidil of cours you know has been proven to work for many people. It is reasonable to think that it could be successful for you. So monitor it well and make sure that results are real. Of course you should remember there is much evidence that gain is lost after cessation of usage and that is a consideration.

Improving the temple density and hairline is always a smart approach in framing the face with permanent hair that looks great. As long as your checking with a reputable HT surgeon on your hair restoration journey and using among the best ... your attitude will just further soar! :) All the Best, Michael
