  1. Nubya congrats on ur procedure. Dr b I'd excellent doc. To be clear, I'm actually not concerned at all about the touch up I require. I'm actually very excited and anxious to go back for my second op. I also had zero shock loss and great healing , Which was very good. Keep us posted on ur progress, but I'm sure u will have a great result.
  2. Even with document, I was asked to remove my bandana, I did so in private, was a five second thing, no issues at all and a really a non event for me. Yes I enquirer about his techs and he assured me they were all very experienced and have all been with him for many years. During my op, I asked the techs and all confirmed that they have been with dr b for some time. They all seemed experienced . Injections were done by Natasha for me who was really sweet and great. He has another person , a man, can't remember his name who also does injections. I have spoken to past patients who had both and all said both were great. Dr b is a class act, ethical and ru s a top clinic. His work is refined and clean and he is very conservative. You are in good hands.
  3. ok let me answer your questions 1 at a time 1-for grafts that didnt take, i cannot see any scar or anything abnormal even after close inspection under very bright light 2- i did have some swelling 2 days post op, nothing to crazy but definately some swelling on forehead and between eyes. 3- managed the swelling by not over walking, watching movies with head tilted for fluid can drain in te back not down to the face. also used ice. 4- left home sunday night, arrived monday, procedure tues/wed. come back sunday. 5- dr bisanga provides a light black bandana so i used that everytime i went out and took if out to let head breath when i was relaxing in my room. 6- i wore the bandana at the airport. i was checked, and they asked me to remove the banadana. i requested to do so in a private room which was no issue. i removed it quickly, they saw they saw i wasnt hiding anything dangerous and said ok n problem. it was as simple and easy as that 7- dr b will gve you very clear instructions. the first 2 days after the procedure i took it easy lying down so fluid would drain to back, i did walk around brussels and the 3 rd day i walked around almost all day. 8- dr b will give you products to use with clear instructions.. i also used aloe on the donor. post op day 7 you can start gently rubbing scabs and by day 10 all scabs are off and it was as if i had no work done, the donor healed crazy quick. once grafts fell out i my hairline was red however, but nothing too bad.
  4. Hello longtime, glad you read my thread and my journey. It was definitely a roller coaster of emotions throughout the journey. In the end I do have a significant cosmetic difference especially considering that one year later from my pre op pics I am sure I lost a lot more of that thin native hair that was barely hanging on pre op. To answer ur questions, I chose dr bisanga because he uses manual punch, he personally did all the punching himself and he personally cut every recipient site. Alll the technicians did was graft placement. I also spoke to many patients who had a great experience and those where results fell slightly short of expectations only needed touch ups which dr bisanga offered for free. This showed his ethical dr bisanga is and how he will stand by his work. As I mentioned in previous posts, in my case dr b said he will offer free touch up in my second op and do whatever he needs to do to make me happy. It took my ten years to finally do it and I'm so happy I did it. I can't wait for my second op. My advice is to narrow ur choices to 3 top docs, my opinion would be bisanga and Lorenzo, consult with a few and decide on who u feel most comfortable with. Let me know if u have any other questions. I know exactly how ur feeling.
  5. Dr bisanga and sl have been great, always felt they were by my side and never felt abandoned. Dr bisanga reassured that he would do whatever need be to bring result up to his expectations. He really stands by his work and wants nothing but the best for his patients. After care from sl was beyond incredible. I'm looking forward for op number two and will continue to update on my journey. I'll update pics at 18 Months but do not expect much change from this point on.
  6. As promised here are some 1 year pics. Overall, definately a transformation from where I started. Was it the stellar result I was hoping for, no. But definately a nice cosmetic improvement. Dr bisanga has also offered free touch up to add density no questions asked, where growth wasn't as strong as it should have been. I'm planning op 2 for next December. I think I will go max 2500 grafts this time. 2000 scalp and start with 500 beard. I'll need a third op to get to where I want to be so rather not push the limits.
  7. hi garageland, the work done was good, donor still looks prestine and untouched, recovery was excellent and after care service amazing. also dr bisanga is very ethical and offered to do whatever it takes to bring op 1 to par. yes the yield was not as good as i hoped for, but dr bisanga will address it. i will also do a smaller session as maybe 3223 was a little too much.
  8. Hi FUE2014, i am not considering any other doc. i have full confidence in dr b
  9. Htsoon, I grew my hair the longest I have had in over a decade which was nice and definately makes a huge difference for illusion of coverage. I just cut it last week short again as the crown looks much worse when front is grown out. I am very anxious to get op number two done next dec.
  10. Thx Pma, you have equally been there for me throughout this journey and I appreciate it greatly. We are now friends for life. I'm also glad that u got an outstanding result.
  11. I will gladly be posting pics at my 12 monh mark, mid December.
  12. Hello, I had decided to stay off forums and stop stressing about my hair as stress can be bad. And would come back to post pics at my 12 month mark. I can say that I have seen some improvement which is great. I am now a few days past the 11 month mark. I am not sure if I had more growth but the hair that did grow has thicken up quite nicely making the overall result better. The yield still remains below expectations, but far from a failure. Dr bisanga has also re confirmed to me that he will do whatever it takes to bring result up to par and up to expectations. He really is a class act and stands by his work no questions asked. I have booked my second op for next dec. I was a slow grower and want to give it a full 18 months before doing another procedure especially since my op 2 will involve some touch up from op 1 area. My next op I am also planning a smaller session. 3200 might have been a little much, so my next op I am planning 2500 grafts to 2700 grafts, 500 of which will be beard to conserve scalp grafts and test to see how beard hair works on me .
  13. I would not proceed with a dr who recommends 5000 if I had ur level of hairloss, that is completely crazy. Max for ur case I would say 2500. See what that brings u and then if need be do a second op down the line for 2500 grafts.
  14. Aim4hair, I think the angles Are fine. I think the issue is lower yield that expected and patchy growth. Not sure how many grafts I would need to bring it up to speed. When I saw d bisanga in person he stated 400, but I'm sure once he inspected again in more detail this number would higher unfortunately. I'm very curious to see what my end result will look like in 3 to 5 months from now once all hair has a chance to fully mature.
  15. Sun seeker, yes 85 percent means 85 percent grew, I am not sure I got 85 percent and not sure there is any way to really know. Sl might know if counting exact with shave head is possible.
  16. Thx td, will see how it improves but I'm not to hopeful for much change at this point.
  17. Really don't think it got better from month 8. I had realistic expectations, I'd really like to know my exact yield but only way to really know would be to shave ,my head and have a qualified Dr check recipient sites and see how many didnt grow. The only hope I have is that I see many thin thin hair so if it matures and thicken maybe result could be decent. For now, going to try not to think about it and re evaluate in 3 months which would be the 12 month mark.
  18. I'm trying to stay positive, but at 9 months, I know usually by this time, the result is pretty much seen and if so, not great.
  19. Hi htsoon, will take when I have time, but I atached a pic of graft placement, which clearly shows how far back he went. There is no question we covered a large area, that being said, for that amount of grafts, density should have been much more than that for sure. Fue, I also don't think it is 85 percent yield. I still don't know why is looks thinner now than last month. Could it be a shed and it will regrow stronger and thicker? I'm not counting on it. I thought once new hair grows it is in growing phase for six years before it sheds again. I have read about some cases that have had shedding between 6 and 9 months, but there was no follow up posts, so don't know what was final outcome.
