  1. Wow, thanks for the info, esp on the grapefruit! BTW, your website and pictures helped me to decide to go ahead and have my HT done. Thanks again!
  2. Joe, That's so clear I don't know why Rugger didn't know what you meant. He definately led me astray and planted confusing subconscious thoughts in my mind!:-)I hear that's how he gets the babes! BTW, Sounds like I may have to come up there next time!:-)
  3. Rugger, Does this mean two hair transplants in one day? I think Joe must have spotted a good lookin babe, and got a little carried away!:-)Well at least the numbers add up.
  4. fortune, Dr Shapiro did my HT (I'm now 3 months+)and I would say that I lost only about 40% to 50% of my transplanted hairs from shedding, not permanently. The others stayed and started growing strong and dark. Of course new hairs are still coming in and will be until around a year. I'm at about 40% density.
  5. I pretty much let mine fall off on their own. I was apprehensive about helping. So mine took longer, but I've had great results so far(3 months post op). I do like the idea of soaking your head, I would have done that! Good Luck!
  6. Thanks T, I actually had seen his name before and the name sure sounded familiar. Now I know why! Is memory the first thing to go?:-)

    MSM

Hey Guys, Take a look at planetdrugstore.com, it's where I found the best deal on MSM. You want to get MSM with Lignisul, it also helps and was mentioned in an article. I ordered the Doctors best 1500mg with Lignisul, got a deal on four bottles.
  8. Cliff, How many fus have you had planted so far? I think you look great as you are, so evidently do the babes!:-) But, since I will probably have another one when I can, who am I to talk!? I think the game plan you mentioned is the way I would go, of course the good Doctor will help you find the best route. To say, "The man is an artist", is an understatement! Good luck!
  9. My scalp peeled a lot after my HT, and it lasted for a few weeks. It finally went away and I only have a little to pop up now. Just follow the advice of your doctor and don't panic. Your implanted hairs should not fall out with the peeling scalp.
  10. Fortune, Make sure you follow the advice of some on this site and soak your head really well before you have the staples removed, and they should come out much easier. I hope you've applied hydrogenperoxide or neosporin to the staples/sutures in order to stop scabs from forming over them. If not your pain will be multiplied! And, have someone remove them that is used to removing staples. If you've not done, or don't do these things, you could be in for some major pain! I didn't soak my head around the stapled area and had to hold on to the seat my friend!
  11. Amen! The articles we've read recently really have opened our eyes. I certainly wouldn't chance it!
  12. Wonder if it's possible to take hair from my chocolate brown cocker spaniel and transplant them to my head. I've always thought that something like that wouldn't work due to the body rejecting the foreign substance. But, I think the dog is getting a little nervous!:-)
  13. Frenchie, I had my HT done by Dr Shapiro on 12/15/03, when exactly were you there? There was another guy there who was having a HT done by Dr Rose, that wasn't you was it? I had a pretty pleasant experience over all, and things are looking pretty good for me. I hope you are growing well!
  14. My experience and procedure was exactly the same! As a matter of fact my game plan was exactly the same. I had 2460 fus and 6041 hairs placed, and I'm very happy with the results. I'll need another procedure maybe to thicken, and to lower the sides of my hairline a tad, and put a few on the crown. I'm 3 months out and my hair is growing in nicely(I will be posting my pics very soon). You might start putting Minox on the recipient site, and start taking MSM(I take 1500mg once/day, which I buy from planetdrugstore.com. Good growth!
  15. I was put out while on Propecia, and it was not an issue at all. If you have real concerns you might ask your doctor, but it was not an issue with mine. Good luck!
  16. Fortune, You're looking good! Dr Shapiro is one great surgeon and artist, you'll love your result. He did my HT on 12/15/03, and my hair is coming in nicely. I hope to post my 3 month pictures very soon. Have patience, and you'll be rewarded!
  17. Ted, The only thing that I would recommend is that you ask someone that you trust if one can easily see the toppik on your head. Just trying to save you some possible embarassment. Good growth!
  18. From everything I've seen and read about Dr Feller he does great work! Look at his work on people of this forum, and see how pleased they seem to be. That's the proof of the puddin. I had my work done by Dr Shapiro on 12/15/03, but certainly Dr Feller is right up there with the top docs. He often contributes to this forum. I've been using Minox on my recipient area as recomended by Dr Feller, and it has helped my growth.
  19. I'm very happy for you, sounds like Dr Keene is the fine professional we've heard she is. I had my HT done by Dr Shapiro on 12/15/03, and am so very pleased with my decision. All the doctors associated with the SMG are top notch professionals. I will soon be posting pictures of my HT!
  20. I've been using propecia and paying about $50.00 for thirty pills, too much I know. So I'm ready to buy proscar from a realiable supplier(product quality and realiable shipping). I would really appreciate knowing where some of you get your supply, and about what I can expect to pay for product and shipping. Thanks much!

  22. Here's something else to consider, if your hair is fairly full it might not be noticed. My hair was very thin where I had applied it, and it showed in the sunlight. Yours may not! If you're married ask your wife, or someone else you "trust" how it looks in the bright sunlight, you might be ok. Also, don't go darker than your hair, try to match it as closely as possible, maybe even mix colors.
  23. Yes, happened to me and believe me the result is worse than not having it on your head! People don't know what it is, or what they're looking at so they "STARE"-not good!
  24. Yes, Dr. Rose, with the Shapiro Medical Group is in Florida and does great work. I believe someone just had work done by him, with very good results. I would certainly give Dr. Rose a call.
