I did the forward comb over the hairline for 2 or 3 weeks and then went back to my normal style. Worked very well.

Consult with both. Both clinics are top notch. I am a big fan of the conservative approach taken by T&D because they achieve great results with relatively small numbers of grafts. I also have seen lots of outstanding results from Dr. Feller. If you consult with both you will get a good feel for which suits you best. You can't go wrong with either clinic.......you are choosing from among the best.

Very nice transformation, especially considering the amount of loss and the number of grafts.

It is one thing to have a preference for sutures or staples, but to say that staples are outdated or inferior is simply an uneducated statement that is not true. I am not trying to attack anyone here, but if you do thorough research, many of the top surgeons who produce some of the best FUT scar results in the world use staples to get those results.

I am biased, but without doubt I would choose SMG. I am going back to SMG this month for an FUE procedure. My first was FUT. They are top notch.

On the crown and behind the hairline, the grafts were mixed in with the native hairs. I experienced very little if any shock loss, but that is always a possibility. If it does happen, all but the weakest hairs will grow back, and those weakest hairs were on their way out anyway.

Thanks. If you look at my photos, there are some additional later shots as well, showing a full year. My second procedure is just to fill in my temple corners a little and while doing that, I am going to thicken up a couple of areas. Definitely not necessary, because my original HT result is a stand alone result that I am very happy with. I think because my first experience was so positive, I just decided I wanted to have some more work done.

Kred2, nervousness is very normal. You chose a great clinic. They will put you at ease and you are in great hands. I was very nervous also, but once I got there, that went away. I am scheduled for round 2 with Dr. Ron in January. Best of luck with your procedure. Look forward to hearing about it and following your progress.

All of the surgeons recommended in the prior posts would be great choices.

The reality is that with any surgery there is going to be scarring and everyone will have some variation in their scar results even at the hands of top surgeons. Everyone heals and scars individually. So, whether it is FUE or FUT, some will have far better scar results than others. I think the best that one can do is go to a top surgeon where the chances of a poor scar are minimized. In my opinion, both FUT and FUE are producing some outstanding results on a consistent basis. The decision of which to use has many factors to consider. I have had FUT with a very successful result and scar. Next month I am having an FUE procedure for some additional work.

Thanks for sharing. I feel bad that your situation did not work out better for you. The truth is that this is surgery and there are no guarantees. I remember reading your experience with Dr. Epstein and I am very thankful that you had shared it. Being from Fla. I considered him early on in my research. I feel very fortunate to have found and decided on SMG for my first HT.
