Newhairplease-I think a lot of surgeons use the term micrografts loosely. You can tell by the graft breakdown that these are true follicular units. I know the real minigrafts and micrografts from the '90s are 1 to 3 hair and 4 to sometimes 7 hair grafts cut using an eyeloop. Crazy isnt it!

What vasodilator do you use, Dr. Friedman? Is it Minoxidil?

52 grafts per cm2 is very dense for a first time pass. It will look great! Dr. Path's work is as good as anyones.

Thank you for explaining this, Dr. Panine. I know when I had my surgeries done nearly 20 years ago, the post op was so much messier than today's techniques.

Who originally did this man's surgery? I honestly have never in my life seen such a wide scar. Does Dr. Shapiro know the reason why he scarred so bad? You guys certainly did an amazing job on this scar revision! I know your patient is as thrilled as he can be.

If her hair was falling out after it reached 2 inches, it must be cycling every 4-5 months. Something made a difference here.

This is a huge change for a small 1600 graft session, Dr. Limmer. Also, his scar is basically undetectable. I am happy to see he is on medical management. Since his DHT and Testosterone levels are already probably low at his age, he should be responding well.

This is very impressive considering the previous disappointment in LLLT. What kind of unit is it? Is it the small hand held version or the large office type?

This patient received great coverage for the number of grafts he received. It's very natural and I know he is happy with the results. His donor hair seems to be fine and the density isn't that great, so you did a great job with what you had to work with.

You have very mild if any loss yet. Your hair looks very good! Most of us would be extremely happy to have what you have. It wouldn't hurt to start Finasteride if you think you notice changes. The earlier you start the better chances you have of regrowing.

Most beta blockers list hair loss as a side effect, and I've read a lot about Toprol being notorious for it.

Your hair looks great! Just keep an eye on it since genetics isn't in your favor.

Most surgeons on here would be very happy to give the the mature hairline instead of the more straight across hairline like Asians have. It saves you some grafts for later and is in your best interest.

You can take it anytime as long as you remember to take it. Some suggest to take it in the mornings because that is when your Testosterone is the highest, but it probably doesn't make a difference with that either.

Other than Finasteride and Minoxidil, taking Biotin, MSM, and a daily multi vitamin are about the only things you can possibly do. That way you ensure your new grafts are getting the best nutrition possible. Also, eat a healthy diet and do not smoke. It is proven that smoking reduces blood flow in the scalp. It may not make any difference, but why risk it?
