  1. This Vancouver area patient in his 20’s was receding in his hairline. He recalled always having a somewhat higher hairline as did most of the males in his family. He had good donor hair and the potential for extreme hair loss was determined to be very low. 3031 grafts via FUT were used to lower the hairline and blend into the existing frontal zone. The 3031 grafts consisted of 716 singles, 2044 doubles and 271 3-4 hair grafts. We don’t have any photos with the proposed hairline drawn in so I’ve highlighted a mole with a red circle in one set of pics for reference. The hairline was brought down quite a bit which may be more apparent in that set. The scar healed very well and he is able to go quite short in the back and sides. These photos were taken 8 months post-op.
  2. As promised and requested, here is an update. He did listen to me and grow his hair out! These photos are 15 months post-op. His expectations are pretty high so he may opt for another 1,000 grafts for the crown at some stage but he's certainly come a long way.

  6. Vancouver area patient in his mid 20’s. Dr. Hasson and his team placed 2593 grafts extracted via FUE to lower his hairline and rebuild part of his frontal zone. 456 were single hair grafts, 1710 were doubles and 427 were 3-4 hair grafts. The size punch used for the extraction was 8.5 mm. These photos were taken only a week shy of 5 months post-op with more growth to come. He will be back in the clinic over the coming months to show his progress and final result. I will be updating our website with his timeline soon showing his progression from day one until now and beyond.
  7. David, my esteemed former colleague, looking good! Nice write-up. Does this mean I have to have an FUE procedure now too?... Will look forward to your updates.
  8. PeloDinero: Yes, to confirm, these photos were the result of his first FUT procedure. He was very happy with the outcome of his FUT so I can only imagine he will be very pleased after this visit. mosd: I don't have very good pics of the temple points but I've included a couple here for you, I hope they are of some value.
  9. Hairshoeing, Davis91: Thank you for the recognition on the presentation. Tj287: I agree. I’m seeing impressive FUE these days. I think there may be some subtle differences in the philosophies of the two doctors when it comes to hairline design but I think they agree on the same basic fundamentals. 911fan: We’ll be showing more FUE as our catalogue of results expands. Spidey, David; Thanks guys for your contribution as usual, didn’t want you to feel left out:)
  10. Pretty impressive TP. I enjoyed meeting you at the clinic and I'm happy to hear that your procedure has had such a positive impact on your life so far. Thank you for sharing and choosing Hasson and Wong!
  11. Looking very nice Gigantass! I will be looking forward to your future updates.Thank you for sharing.
  12. This patient in his 40's traveled from China to Vancouver for his procedure with Dr. Hasson. Wanting as many grafts as possible, his expectations were exceeded with 6364 grafts via FUT. A light crown coverage, while not expected in the first session, was able to be achieved with this number. He had hair on the finer side and 2180 singles,3844 doubles and 340 3-4 hair grafts made up the total. These photos were the result of his first FUT procedure taken 16 months post-op on his second visit to the clinic. He again wanted to maximize the yield and elected to have another FUT followed up with an FUE procedure. The 2 day total combining the FUT and FUE was 3448 grafts of which 2545 were FUT and 903 were FUE. A .08 mm punch size was used for the FUE. The second visit added some density to the frontal zone, reconstructed temple points and increased the density for the crown. Of the 4 post-op shots, the second full head shot (with his arms folded in his lap) represent the first procedure immediately post-op, the other 3 are immediate post-op from his 2nd FUT/FUE procedure. If only they would have taken another 188 to get to 10,000, that would have had a nice ring to it  But, I don’t think he’s complaining…
  13. Vancouver area patient in his mid-30’s. Dr. Wong and his team placed 1736 grafts extracted via FUE into his existing hairline and slightly behind to create the desired cosmetic impact. Of the 1736 grafts used on the day of his hair restoration procedure, 74 were single hair grafts, 737 were double hair grafts and 925 were 3 hair grafts. The size punch used for the extraction was .9mm. These photos were taken 8.5 months post-op.
  14. Thanks for the comments guys! I have added another pic which may be a bit clearer. We will hopefully be seeing this patient in Italy next month and can get some updated photos of better quality. Dr. Hasson feels he could have gotten the same result with FUE. Something in the 6,000 graft range would have probably done it over 2-3 days. Indeed his donor hair is above average and he might have another 4,000 or so left in reserves. As far as the post op shots, considering Dr. Hasson was transplanting mostly among existing hair and the fact that the patients hair shaft caliber was very high, the grafts did not have to be placed as close together as would be the case with the average patient. I agree it is also possible that he has responded well to Finasteride.
  15. Dutchie, Thank you, you're too kind!! It was a pleasure speaking with you yesterday, you were great as well. I look forward to your visit to the clinic possibly next month.
  16. Dr. Hasson/FUT 7902 grafts/one session This patient from Italy in his early 30’s wanted to lower his hairline in addition to restoring his crown. Fortunately, his donor hair was exceptional allowing Dr. Hasson to harvest 7901 graft via FUT and accomplish this goal in one session. 2355 grafts were singles, 5071 were double hair grafts and 476 were 3-4 hair grafts. The texture of his hair was coarse. Due to his extremely high donor density, the strip was only 1.5 to 2.0 cm in width and around 34 cm in length. He took these photos and his result was shared on the Italian forum Bellicapelli. The photos aren't perfect but I think you get the idea.
  17. Thanks guys! You're hired! I have instructed the webmaster to correct the errors. Our apologies. This indeed was inadvertently mislabeled as an FUE on our site. The other now also correctly labeled as FUT/FUE. I would say the distinction should be made and for those with both FUT and FUE within a reasonable amount of days apart should be considered a "combo" and not one or the other.
  18. Thanks for the comments guys. mcl2010: In general the propecia should also help the areas of retrograde loss. I’m not sure how much it helped in this case as the areas of retrograde loss were pretty extensive. In hindsight I wish I would have looked a little closer at these areas but I was more focused and impressed with the transformation I guess . I will try and get him back in to check on any improvement of those areas.
  19. FUT followed by FUE the next day is becoming increasing popular to achieve the maximum number of grafts in one visit. It was determined enough grafts could be harvested to restore the front and mid scalp via strip and the remaining grafts needed to complete the crown could be performed the next day. Day one consisted of 5798 FUT grafts of which 1413 were single hair grafts, 4135 doubles and 250 were 3-4 hair grafts. The next day 1,000 FUE grafts using a .85 mm punch were extracted. This patient is his mid 20's from the States wanted maximum density up front and with a large overall balding area, a lighter coverage for the crown was the expectation. He has average to above average donor density and texture and was on Finasteride at the time of his procedures. These photos were taken 7 months post-op. While the front is quite impressive at this stage, Dr. Hasson expects the crown to continue to improve over the next several months.
  20. This Vancouver area patient in his mid-20’s was heading for a stage 7 with retrograde loss as well. Despite those 2 strikes, with good quality hair and a big number, Dr. Wong was able to create quite a transformation. Full coverage with temple reconstruction was achieved using 5955 grafts via FUT. 1333 grafts were singles, 3464 doubles and 1158 3-4 hair grafts. He restarted Finasteride at the time of surgery. These photos were taken 13 months after his procedure with the hair slightly wet.
  21. Vancouver area patient in his early 30’s was bothered by his receded and weak hairline and he liked to keep his hair very short on the sides and back. 2274 grafts via FUE were placed to restore the hairline blending into the frontal zone. 363 single hair grafts 1667 double hair grafts 244 3-4 hair grafts .8 mm punch Slightly less than average donor hair, fine in texture.
  22. Here are some updated pics. The 5 and 6+ month pics are with styling products, the 7+ month are without product, slightly damp hair.
  23. I agree Trashpanda/David! Thanks for the comments Dr. Hasson estimates about 2,500 grafts left Yes he is very happy! Here is a pic of both before and after He is local; I will try and get him in at the 1 year mark As far as the density issue, we'll see how much improvement in the coming months but I'm not sure what one should expect in this case. This density is pretty good considering the texture of the hair and amount of virtually bald skin that was covered. The patient wanted complete coverage rather than ultra-dense packing in the front leaving an incomplete crown. Any lowering of the hairline and increase in the density up front would not have achieved his desired end result. I think sometimes these big numbers can deceive. In the end a stage 6 that is basically completely bald needs 6-8,000 grafts just to get complete coverage. Complete coverage throughout and high density? Not likely in a case such as this. While it may not appear to be as dense as expected, I have to say in person it looks very good and the impact to his appearance and life was profound. Maybe most importantly, the wife likes it :-)
  24. This 40 year old patient from Vancouver had several friends who had previously had hair transplants with Dr. Hasson. Finally after years of consideration and then seeing his friend’s results, he decided it was time for his turn. 7.5 months and 7185 grafts later, he was very pleased with the result and impact to his appearance. The breakdown: Single hair grafts: 2579, Doubles: 4201, Multiples: 405. Hair texture: medium/coarse. This is also a good illustration that if the strip is removed properly with the right surgeon, the width of the strip should not correlate to the width of the scar. In this case, some areas of the strip were 4 centimeters wide. As you can see, the scar is a non-issue and hard to see. In cases such as this that require a large number of grafts to cover a large area, FUT is still King.
