  1. Thanks for the reply. I ahd it done with Dr. Law in NYC. About 900 grafts. I am currently using Rogaine daily and Finas EOD. The men on my mother's side all have hair loss history. None at all on my father's side. I've had multiple consults recently and have been told I have good donor hair. So you think I avoid doing the sides/temples for a few more years? Or are you saying wait a few more years on the entire transplant?
  2. Just looking for some advice on how to approach restoring my temples. 1- Should I bring the side areas (right below where the hairline ends) forward a bit? 2- Should I do anything at all to the 'points' right above my sideburns? The 2nd question is of major concern and where I am very unsure/hesitant. The Left temple (1st 3 pics) has receded worse than the Right one, but they both seem to be going. Worried if I restore them now, they might start to recede further over the next couple of years, leaving me screwed, as you can't cover up that area at all. Anyway, this is a tricky area for me. I would greatly appreciate some help/guidance from some of you. Freaking out over doing this correctly. Thanks! Also, as a quick summary, I am 31 yrs old. This would be my 2nd HT. 1st one was back in 2006. Here is a link to those old pics: Hair Restoration Social Network - Hair Loss and Transplant Photos
  3. I know this is been covered a few times... But Id like to know how many months after surgery is it ok to hit the gym HARD? I'm not talking about a casual weight lifter/gym go'er. I'm more in the mind frame of serious lifting/prepping for a contest or show type thing. Working out 5 days/week. Intense lifts, etc... I'm thinking about 3 months out, but Id like to hear from more people on this. Thanks!
  4. Where, In the pic of the scar, is your hair wet? Do you have any more pics, from the top? Reason I ask is because like you, I also had abt 800 grafts into my hairline a few years ago. We are close to the same age, and from your pics, seems we have similar, diffusely thinning hair on top. I considered multiple options, and am very close to going under for my 2nd procedure. I convinced myself from the start that this would be at least a 3-4 surgery journey, and am scared as hell at the thought of removing my grafts and the scarring that may or may not come with it. Anyway, just presenting a different thought/opinion from someone in a very similar position. Interested in seeing what you choose to do.
  5. Thanks all for the replies. Much help. I will definitely buzz/shave my hair down, similar to my first HT. How many grafts do you all feel I should aim for? Like you guys mentioned, too many grafts/too densely packed could lead to added shock loss. As for a skilled surgeon, I am only considering Dr.'s recommended on this forum. I live in Southern California and am considering Dr. Meshkin, Dr. Siporin and Dr. Reed. If anyone has any feedback, I would love to hear it. Thanks again!
  6. Looking for feedback/advice from anyone who's had diffuse thinning like myself and had an HT? My biggest concern is shock loss. Am I at a greater risk? Would a transplant at this point do more harm (in terms of damaging native hair) than good? My goal is to add density. Mainly to hairline, temple points and the front third/vertex. Crown will be saved till a later date. This would be my 2nd HT. First one back in 2006. 900 grafts into hairline. I am 31 years old. Thanks. 7. Thanks bro. I think I am going to do the sides/temple points on my next HT as well. Worried that a cap might press up against them. So you think after about 5 days I shouldn't have to worry?
  8. I am just curious as to how many days post op can I safely wear a hat without damaging the grafts? Mainly for work purposes. Thanks!
  9. Any more thoughts or feedback? This is obviously a huuuuuge decision and I want to make sure I have all of the information I need. -Opinion on graft count? -Dr. Siporin? -Transplanting into native hair? Goal at this point is to do it within the next 3 or 4 months. Thanks.
  10. Josh, Thanks for the feedback man. How old were you when you got your HT's? How many grafts? Do you have any pics?
  11. My major concern is doing more harm than good. I've read: 1: Transplanting among native hair puts you at greater risk for shock loss. 2: Being my 2nd procedure, I may yield a lower % of grafts that actually grow. It may also result in a worse scar than I currently have. 3-Lastly, there are a lot of stories of people 8,10,12 months post op and seeing little to no growth at all. I was spoiled my first time around. Got excellent growth that began about 4 months post op. 7 years later and I am completely happy with the results, my only regret is that I did not do more.
  12. I only stopped it a few months ago. I might start it again at a low dose, say EOD. I'm 31 Problem now is that my old hair transplant is starting to become more obvious. Not because it was a bad job, but because the hair around it is thinning out, leaving kind of an awkward look near the temple/hairline.
  13. Thanks for the feedback. I use rogaine, twice a day. I used to be on finasteride as well, but decided to discontinue. Would you recommend more grafts? Do you think I can achieve good density with the amount I plan on getting?
  14. Looking to get my second HT done in the near future and could use some advice on how to approach it. First HT was in 2006. Approx 900 grafts into the hairline. Here is a link to my pics from that procedure: Hair Restoration Social Network - Hair Loss and Transplant Photos I have already had consultations with 2 different coalition Dr.'s here LA.... Dr. Meshkin and Dr. Siporin. Both told me basically the same thing: About 2000 - 2500 grafts. From hairline to about half way back/vertex. Leaving the crown for a 3rd procedure in the future. I've been on this forum for a long time and have done a lot of research. But of course, I still have concerns/hesitations. 1-Based off my pictures, do you guys think it is a good time for a 2nd procedure? 2-Can I transplant through this much native hair? 3-Also, what are peoples take on doing the points right above the sideburns? Any help or advice that I can get would be greatly appreciated. Pics attached. First one is natural. The others are with water and hair gel.
  15. Just trying to get some feedback before spending(wasting?) my money...
  16. Hey guys... Been using Rogaine Foam for some time now. Also use Finasteride EOD. Someone recommended I add in Azelaic Acid or Spiro. I found this Minox 5%/Azelaic Acid 5% mix online. Is it worth adding in??? Would Spiro be a better option? Thanks.
  17. Should I order Dark Brown or Black??? Ive never used before and I dont want it to be visible. Any suggestion? Link to some more pics: Hair Restoration Social Network - Hair Loss and Transplant Photos
  18. thanks for the suggestion. have a consult set up w Dr. Meshkin tomorrow.
