  1. Nonetheless, if you start a thread you need to finish it off otherwise just don't start off in the first place. It's not fair hanging people like this.. I hope he returns for an update soon.
  2. I can't help but get suspicious when patients vanish suddenly
  3. Dr. Maral quoted €1.380 for up to 3500 grafts . My bad he is six times cheaper.
  4. Well, I wasn't aware of Dr. Koray only does the incisions. I was under the impression that he actually does the extraction aswell since they kinda brag about it being only 1 step manual punch and all on their website. Dr. Maral doesn't even do the incisions but he is five times cheaper than Dr. Koray. I wonder how Dr. Hakan Doganay performs the operation or at least what part of the procedure he is involved. Any first hand comments on Dr. Hakan?
  5. Thank you for everyone sharing their stories. I'm on the verge of deciding a HT clinic in Turkey since I live here for the time being. I have had 3 online consultations from Dr. Koray Erdogan, Maral Klinik and Dr. Hakan Doganay of Antalya. Correct me if I'm wrong but all the job extraction ,incision and implantation in Maral Clinic done by assistants not the doctor himself. Is it ok to be done like that? In other two clinics supposedly doctors involved in all aspects of the operation and assistants just do the assisting. By the way Dr. Erdogan quoted 2.5 €/graft, Dr. Hakan 2 €/graft and Maral only €1.380 fixed price for around 2.500-3.000 grafts. Maral price is insanely low compared to others.
  6. Couldn't decide between Dr. Erdogan and Dr. Hakan. Dr. Hakan uses micromotor for extraction whereas Erdogan uses manual punch exclusively though Erdogan charges 0,5 Euro/graft more than Hakan does plus €300 for PRP. How do you guys feel about micromotors? Should I just forget about Dr. Hakan and go for Erdogan for the sake of manual punch?
  7. Indeed Dr. Erdogan quotes was high around 3800-4200 grafts whereas Dr. Hakan quoted 2000 grafts. Of course these quotations were made online based on the photos but still gap between those two estimates are really big. Any advice?
  8. Hi guys, I need help on deciding a HT surgeon and advice on how many grafts I would need based on the photos attached. Keep in mind that I have been using finasteride and minoxidil for 9 years now although not as regularly as it should be. For the surgeon advice, I reside in Turkey and I'm reading about Koray Erdogan and Hakan Doganay alot. I was initially looking for SMG but now I'm kinda confused since people coming from US to have surgery in Turkey. Should I stop looking further and decide on one of the docs in Turkey?
  9. I don't wash it off after I apply it, stays on my head all day long. Your plan sounds little hard to follow considering that this is a life-time commitment.
  10. Hi kg007 1.) I still use 2 ml (1 ml on crown & 1 ml on front/top) 2.) I don' have certain times. In the morning around 8:30 after shower and anytime I want at nights, some nights I do it even right before I go to bed. 3.) I'd say 2-3 times in a month for minoxidil and almost never for propecia, can't remember the last time I missed one. 4.) I don'take breaks, don't remember missing two applications in a row, I do it religiously indeed. I love my hair 5.) My father side has hairloss history unfortunately. All the best, cheers...
  11. Hi George, 1.) My hair was very short when i started meds and kept it so for couple of months. Though hard to say I don't believe I had a frightening shed at all, moderate at best. Regrowth started within a month. 2.) No side effects so far other than some unwanted facial hair increase around brows and under eyes, could be related to other factors aswell such as getting old, hot weather..
  12. Hi HT55, It's really hard to say when you'll get the all results since it changes person to person greatly. I think though I got the results from minoxidil pretty fast and ended in 4 months perhaps. Proscar on the other hand should be at least 12 months to see all results. Again, I have started these two at the same time, that's why I can't tell exactly how much I benefited from which med and when. Hope this answers your question..
  13. Yes, that's real I still see the good results I have seen so far. I don't know about the web sites or others but my experience with these meds has been just great. P.S. I don'think Merck or Pfizer really need my to help to sell their meds. Wish they would use my results, I'd be filthy rich overnight) Good luck with your transplant...
  14. Hi everyone, It's been a while since I hit these pages. I'm happy to report though nothing cosmetically took a turn for the worse, everything seems to be holding up. The regimen stays same aswell. (1/4 Proscar everyday+minoxidil back&front twice a day). Though, I dropped nioxin for some months now. I'll try to post some updates soon. Cheers...
  15. I have added some new pictures showing what my hair look like today for those who are interested. Suppose, there is not much difference between today and 6 or 12 months ago. I might have lost just a tad or not. I'm still trying to keep my regimen that's 1.25mg Proscar, minoxidil twice a day both front and back each 1ml and Nioxin everyday. Cheers...
  16. I can't say I have experienced any side effects really from Propecia other than perhaps increased body hair, though it might just be my wild imagination, people tend to get more body hair as they age afterall. Highly unlikely since they work in different ways. What you can do though is you can start using minoxidil for 4 months then see if the result is good enough for you if not add propecia to your regimen and re-evaluate your situation after 12 months to see whether or not you want to keep your regimen. Hope this helps, good luck.
  17. I think you need to wait at least a year to see your results from Propecia and I'd strongly advice you to get on minoxidil as well. You'd be surprised how much they might help you out. Although my results may not be very common, you could still benefit a lot in my opinion. I had a very similar hairloss to yours and I started medication at your age. You can check out my results here. 1600 grafts is just too little to make any dramatic change to your appearance cosmetically IMO. Good luck with your research, all the best...
  18. Hi everybody, What do you suggest for hair gel/spray that is harmless to your hair that I can pick-up locally? I've checked sn2000.com for nioxin products and I'm kinda confused what to choose. There are so many of them. Thanks for the replies. All the best...
  19. Hi JakeVig, I actually meant everybody who has to suffer from hairloss by being unlucky then again I'm lucky to respond medication and it's very true as you put it that I'm slave to this medication till the next breakthrough whatever it may be. I'll keep posting new pictures in the future. All the best...
  20. I thought propecia works by blocking the 5 alpha reductase typeI enzyme which converts testosterone into DHT. I don't think Testosterone level is relevant to overall DHT levels. No enzyme no conversion, unless body produces more enzyme when T-levels get higher.
  21. Thank you for kind words guys, I call this the illusion of the medication. I think this stuff only buys you some time and IMO medication hair is not as good as real hair or transplanted hair for that matter, texture feels a tad different and more importantly most of them don't grow any longer after 2 inches, some especially on and around the hairline don't grow even up to 2 inches, I'm ok as long as I keep my hair short i guess. Nonetheless, I'm one of the luckiest of the unluckiest guys out there and I'm very grateful that this stuff works on me just fine without any sides. Quick question, how would you guys rate the degree of my hairloss on a Norwood scale both based on the before any medication and after 16-month-old pictures? Thanks for the replies in advance.
  22. I consulted Dr. Bradley Limmer of San Antonio, TX. You can see my progress here
  23. Congrats on your procedeure anant. i'm curious though whether or not you are taking any medications like propecia and/or minoxidil. I must say i had a very similar hair loss to yours and the doctor I went for consultation insisted on me getting on medication for at least a year before deciding any surgery. so far i have responded to medication quite well and i don't think i need a surgery in near future. happy healing to you, all the best...
  24. added some 16-month-old pictures
