  1. Hello, I am just wondering how long the "redness" lasts on your scalp after a HT so people wouldn't know. I work in an office but in my current position can still get away with wearing a hat even though it's "frowned upon" but I'd like to know when I can lose the cap safely. Thank you.
  2. I'm curious what list people would compile if making a list of your Top 5 docs. Consider talent, previous work (results), technique and professionalism then post your list of Top 5 docs and a blurb on why your list looks the way it does.

  4. Yeah, like Bill said, your hairloss is minimal at best. I know it doesn't feel this way to you though but to be honest, it looks great dude. In my opinion, any work you had done would only yield a minimal change in your appearance as well. The decision is yours of course, but at 27 and with your hair still looking great, I'd throw that money at a nice car, go to film school in L.A, have a blast and worry about it later when you've got a little more money to throw around. If you still bothers you. I doubt location will make a difference to you at that point. I wouldn't recommend any clinics in the your area and feel good about it so I can't help you there. Good luck whatever you decide bro. And have fun in L.A! Me.
  5. My balding brothers, you guys always know how to cheer me up. I was just checking my hairloss out in the mirror again and feeling like shit about it. Ever notice how hairloss doesn't look as bad on everyone else and just seems to look worse on you? Haha - maybe that's just me. I guess I won't know what can be done until October when I meet with Dr.Rahal. I'm really looking forward to it and counting the days until it's "go" time. I'm wondering...what are everyone's thoughts on how many grafts you should do in a session? Everyone seems to have a varied number of grafts but my train of thought is to have as much work done in one session as possible. Is this the wrong way of thinking? At first, I was going to get 2500 grafts, then I changed my mind and decided to go for 3500. NOW, I'm thinking more like 4000. Help! Any thoughts on this? I'm hoping my scalp laxity will be good if I do my exercises twice a day for the next six weeks or so. P.S - SMOOTHY - I noticed you said I'd have nothing to worry about with a "TOP" notch surgeon, you were referring to Rahal, right? (serious)
  6. Thanks kman. Rahal let me know that he "should" be able to take care of the scar. He noted that it is very low on my head (see pic) which he said was unusual. I'm on finasteride right now but not minox. How do I go about getting that? I'm going to start doing the scalp exercises asap. I appreciate the feedback, so thanks. Did you have a surgery performed then? Planning on one?
  7. Hey wantshairs, you and I have our surgeries booked on almost the same day! Mine is on the 14th with Dr.Rahal for 3500 grafts. Looks like we'll be on our "ugly duckling" journey together, bro. I'll have my hair one day sooner! lol That's kinda cool. I can't wait either.
  8. The picture is deceiving because it's so short. A couple weeks ago, I went to trim my hair and didn't notice I had my beard trimmer attachment on it so I went right down to the wood. It sucked. Not to mention the plugs. I had to shave the rest of it and the scar...well..it certainly catches the eye. Here is one from January where you can see what's going on better. This is 7 months old so there has been loss since then as well. Just cant tell from that picture above. Ironic that it's a little flattering. Anyone hear of any issues transplanting around native hair? Is it a big deal? Nothing to worry about?
  9. I haven't used it, but it seems to me that Nanogen would be pretty fussy. Would this stuff just come out if someone played with your hair a little? Sweat? Stuff like that?
  10. I have a question regarding my HT. I have a surgery booked with Dr.Rahal in October. I had a HT done about 10 years ago along my hairline as you can see from the picture below. Yup, good ole' doll hair. Rahal said he should be able to help with this along with possibly hiding my old scar as well. The hairs from this HT are evidently thicker than surrounding hairs and my native hair has receded from the first HT...and I'm older so the native hair is not as thick. Two questions...I've seen some statements made about transplanting hair among native hair. Is this something I should be concerned about at this point? In addition, what are patients opinions on Hassan and Wong vs. Dr.Rahal if there was a doc showdown? I know they are both top notch but is there a favorite among the two? My crown is still in decent shape at the moment so I am hopeful 3500 grafts will give me good results. I've also seen many pics of people getting HT's among native hair with great results so am I just worrying over nothing? Sorry about the bad picture quality, it's also harder to tell with my head shaved probably. I hope I can get on with my life. No more concealer and shit. I'm so tired of the paranoia that goes along with those products. Can't even express it. Any comments appreciated. Thanks.

  12. These are words to the wise buddy. If cost is a factor right now, then I wouldn't go ahead with it. I did it, and regret it. I've done my research now and am basically forced to have surgery done AGAIN to correct it when I would be a happy bald dude at this time. When you're younger (early 20's) hair loss impacts you the most. It's the hardest time in your life to deal with it. I'm not saying don't get a HT but wait. I'm only 31 so it's not to say just go bald and be happy but do your research and don't let money dictate what you do. Do it right, or don't do it at all, I say. You're going to have it for the rest of your life. Think about that. Best of luck whatever you decide, bro.
  13. Haha - nice! Hair is looking great, Hairfree! Or should we call you 'Harry' now?!
  14. I'll say, I shaved it and went about my business a couple days ago in the morning and people looking at my scar and the plugs was enough to sway me. I'd pay whatever just to avoid the stares. It's worth it. Considering I work in an office and everything too, there would be nothing worse than running a meeting and having people stare at your plugs in a meeting. Not to mention it's very unattractive in appearance. I'm looking into financing options now. Does anyone know what surgeons are using now to close up the area where grafts are taken? Dewayne, I checked your weblog and I think you mentioned you had stitches. When I had my HT done years ago, they used staples. I would think stitches would be easier to cover.
  15. I'm gonna go ahead with another HT. I've decided. I was 23 when I had my first and am now 31. My advice to anyone would be to consider all your options before you go ahead with a surgery. Rahal is World Class and he'll fix me up. Thanks for the suggestions.
  16. The reason I ask is because I've decided to explore credit options now to finance it since I'd like to do is ASAP. Thanks again for any suggestions.
  17. Yeah, that's the thing, they were punched in. I was shaving my head and using concealer but the other day I accidentally left the "0" attachment on the clippers and didn't notice, then ZAP across the top of my head, right down to the skin. I've obviously shaved my entire head but now notice how badly these punch lines stick out and how much hair I've lost. It's shiny! Not to mention the scar. Pretty hard going out right now and I work in an office. I'm in Canada and Rahal happens to be about 4 1/2 hours away. It's just the money. I make pretty good money and can afford it but I've been trying to save up. Thing is, my car has broken down twice in the last six months and set me back $2000.00. Seems I can't make it there. The next big question I had was how do you guys usually finance your surgeries? Dollar figures aren't important but how is everyone doing it these days???
  18. Wow - 3000, nice! You must have a great donor area. Best of luck!
  19. Wow, these forums have become a dead zone. I've searched a little on my own as an FYI but have not been able to find any info so if anyone has heard of anything, feel free to add. Thanks in advance.
  20. Hey everyone, I has an HT done about 10 years ago along my hairline. It was a follicular transplant that looks like individual hairs (maybe two in some)and the hairline has receded from it. I've been saving for another one and have had an online consultation with Dr.Rahal for about 2000 grafts. Thing is, I've been agonizing over hairloss mostly because of this procedure years ago and how the hair has receded from it, not so much the hairloss itself. I've been looking for a way to potentially "reverse" the job I had done years ago as I would rather just be bald and be done with it. Anyone know if there is a procedure that can be done to accommodate this? Thanks.

  22. Yeah, most recent pics I see are from 2007. Like to see how things are going now!
  23. Since you're going for an appearance with more thickness, I thought I'd ask if you have used any concealers such as DermaMatch or any of the others? With the work you've had done and the good results you have so far, I'll bet you'd have exactly what you're looking for if you could master the application of a good concealer. Either way, looking good dude!
  24. So did you use hairspray with it or did it stay that way on its own using Dermatch?
