  1. I'd like to briefly share my story and I would greatly appreciate any recommendations concering the best doctors at repair work. I originally went into Dr. Elliot's office in Newport Beach, CA at the age of 18 or 19. I went in to see if hair could be transplanted into an extensive scar that ran throughout my head, and to make a long story short I was promised that the scar would dissappear. It's kinda of difficult to describe the scar but it zig-zagged throughout my scalp, starting just below the hairline. At best the scar was slightly visable when I parted my hair just right. Anyways, Dr. Elliot ended up giving me a whole new hairline, over three surgeries performed on me from the age of 18 or 19 through the age of 23, that used over 3000 grafts. I didn't even really go in for hairloss, just to see if I could get some hair into the scarred area. After the first surgery, it was obvious that I had transpalnts so the problem just compounded itself and Dr. Elliot kept taking my money. The whole thing is a daze because I was so shattered and depressed through the whole process. Dr. Elliot was not careful with me and never sat down and even came close to explaining the possible negative outcomes of my surgery with me. I was so young and embarrased to be in his office and all he did was promise great results and I took the bait. Now at the age of 25, while the scar that I originally went in for is not so obvious, I have a very low, unnatural, aggressively, transplanted hairline, hair loss that really kicked in after the first surgery and has resulted in some solid balding at the crown and through the middle of my scalp, and over 3000 grafts taken from my donor area and left a scar that spands from ear to ear. I just recently got on Propecia and I want to find a really good doctor for some repair work. I've already contacted a few doctors but I would like to gather as much information and opinions as possible and I would appreciate any recommendations and knowledge. Thank you

  3. johnnie69- Thanks for the advice, and I will do as you instructed. I've already contacted Shapiro and I've got a few other doctors I'm going to contact. Thanks
  4. Johnnie69- Just wanted to say thank you for being so candid with all your posts. I'm relatively new to this site and I'm really glad I found it. I went through three transplant surgeries from the age of 18 or 19 to the age of 23, I'm currently 25, and the results from the surgeries are not good. The surgeries were performed by Dr. Elliot and he was really aggressive, really low hairline, and used over three thousand graft. Well I'm 25 and my hair loss has continued, my hairline doesn't look natural, just started taking Propecia, and hoping for a miracle. I've been wearing a hat non-stop for six plus years and I haven't taken it off at all. I know all about the hat and worrying about social situations, your number one concern becomes the hat. No one knows why I wear the hat. I just tell people i like it and just let me be. You know you're a true hat wearer when you see some of these Muslims wearing whatever it is they wear on there heads, and you realize that it's perfectly accepted for them to wear there head covering in all situations and social functions, and you begin to wish that you could wear that head covering to. I pretty much avoid all situations where wearing a hat is not normally accepted. I just starting to gather the resolve to see if something else can be done. I'm going to try and visit a few doctors to see what they think. I really got to get some good opinions to see if my situation can be improved. I'm so amazingly sick of dealing with the whole thing and the it really has effected my life in a very negative way. Anyways, keep up the postings and please share with me any recommendations or anything that might help.
  5. Dr. Elliot performed 3 surgeries on me from the age of 18-23 and the results are not good. I was first turned away by Bosley, they said I was too young, I then went to Dr. Elliot and he quickly promised great things and went on to take 3000 grafts, thousands of dollars, and gave me a very low hairline that I know I won't have enough donor hair to maintain as my hair loss continues. I'd stay far, far away from Dr. Elliot. Very poor experience and did not even come close to being up front with be about the possible ramifications.
