I also would not spend this kind of money on laser and shampoos. I think the laser helps a little, in my case anyway, but only as an additional measure. I also use Revita shampoo and like it a lot.

Everyone here will agree with what Bill just posted. Until we can recommend safely a good surgeon in your area play it safe and go with a surgeon already screened from our recommended list, it is just not worth the risk to venture into the unknown. The additional travel expense will actually save you a lot of grief.

Most will tell you you are too young to consider a HT. Do you even have hair loss? I would consult with a recommended Dr to start with. Dr. Kabaker is the only one I have heard of who does the hairline lowering surgery, you'll find him easily on this Forum.

I think your instincts serve you right Hawk. Where there is smoke there is fire. I would stay away, actually I would run away.

Not much came out except for one patient who sounds like he is doing her promotion, he did not reply to the more pointed questions from our moderator. IMO you are young for a HT, stay on Propecia, the results may not be too obvious but there is a high probability it slowed down your hair loss. I would never consider doing a HT with a Dr who has not been fully audited by the experts on this Forum. Why take the chance? The consequences are not worth it. You could come up with an excuse and get your deposit back. The most important thing is to take your time, don't rush into this, take a few months to read and learn from this amazing Forum and you' see that you'll end up making the best decision. You could start by posting photos of your hair (no flash) and you'll get great feedback even from surgeons who frequent our site. Keep us posted.

The grafts placement into the recipient site is usually done by the tech assistants, the slits which hold the new grafts in the recipient area should be done by the surgeon in most cases. I would play it safe and go only with the recommended surgeons but since Bill is in the process of evaluating Dr. Friedman's practice why not wait until we hear the results?

Give Finasteride (Propecia or Proscar) the time to work so it can stabilize your hair loss, at least 6 months, one year is better, I also use a great shampoo by the name of Revita, I think it helps a little bit. In the meantime you'll have the chance to learn much more about all this by staying in touch with the Forum and the members. I am not sure if we have any recommended Dr.'s in Pakistan but I would only consider our recommended Dr.'s from the list.

I agree with the previous replies. Take your time, do as much research as you can on this site and definitely consult face to face with at least 3 surgeons that are recommended on this Forum. You'll learn so much from the in person consultations. An educated decision will give you great results as long as you are clear on your expectations.

If I understand correctly it seems they want you to sign a release in order to refund $8,000 due to your wife's treatment not meeting expectations. First, I am sorry about this situation and I feel for you guys. I was lucky to not go to Bosley before I found this site but I could have ended up there as well. The more you read and learn on this forum, the better you'll understand why the big hair mills such as Bosley are not recommended and even many other private Dr. practices. Second, I believe it's great that you get your money back if that's the case. I would consult an attorney to make sure the process is fair and that you understand the terms of the settlement. Last, you'll find on this forum wonderful resources for HT repairs and even some which specialize in women's specific hair loss patterns. After consulting with several LA area surgeons I decided to have my second HT performed by Dr Siporin. See my Hair blog for more detailed info, I can only compliment his skill and before and after care.

I'll be posting 12 and 18 months pics. In the vast majority of cases the difference will appear minimal especially in pictures, in my case I am hoping for another 10% to 20% at the most.

My dermatologist prescribed Tazorac for my face, I never applied it really close to my scalp, I currently use Retin A which I find stronger now that my skin has gotten tougher, it works better for my skin condition. I have never noticed any effect on hairloss but again I've not used it on my scalp.

Sorry I saw this post a little late but I would recommend Dr Siporin as well, I did a lot of research on his work before trusting him to do my second HT. I am very pleased with his work , his attention to detail and his pre and post op care.

You are too young for a HT, no Dr recommended on this forum will accept to do a HT on a 19 y/o patient, unless it's a very particular and rare case, I am sure of it. Try Revita shampoo, I use it and love it, if you start young you might get nice benefits, it will stimulate your hair and scalp, it's not a miracle cure but a nice mild treatment. I am not sure taking Finasteride so young is a good idea, I would consult with a Dr to make sure. You came to the right place for advice, over here you'll get all the answers you need.

I found Revita to be a very good shampoo, it improved the appearance of my hair, I am also hoping it might help slow down some hairloss but I'll have to use it a few more months to tell, I don't expect very noticeable results when it comes to loss or regrowth but if it helps only a little I'll be happy with that.

I also like Revita, I was only able to buy it online, EBay is a good source.

I have been using Revita shampoo for about 2 weeks now and my first impression is that it is a very good quality shampoo, it makes my hair fuller and softer, it's probably the best shampoo I have ever used so far, I can't say yet if it is contributing to slowing down my hair loss but it is helping in the appearance of fullness, it is certainly not increasing my hair loss, if anything, I see less hair in the sink than usual after I brush. To add thickness and weight I use Garnier Fructis leave in conditioner on wet hair after each shampoo and it has helped a lot.
