I see it now, you just posted it. Amazing transformation, on the after picture was your hair styled with gel or thickener?
-
Only one picture is posted, I guess it would be the after picture.
-
Congratulations, I can't wait to see your pictures, please tell us the details such as the exact FU's breakdown.
-
Bill/Bill thank you for your recent comment in my Hair Loss Weblog, I did not add new pictures because things do not really look different from the previous pictures, yet! I was thinking to post new pictures when I reach 3 months, around early December, to show the donor scar healing well and maybe some new sprouts coming in.
All the best,

One tech works one side, the other tech works the other side, in most cases they have a different touch and slightly different habits but since you went to a coalition Dr. you'll be fine, they screen their staff very carefully. The new FU in my temples also seem to hang on for some reason, keep in mind that in spite of appearances our bodies are not symmetrical and we react differently from the right or the left. In my case I feel fuller on my left side this time around, nothing to worry, as the growth comes in they will even out but there will be small differences. If you still notice a sizable difference at 12 months discuss it with your Dr. Happy growing.

He does not even have a gallery of his patients. Stay away, choose only from the proven Dr's who are recommended here.

Going in reverse typically all the growth should have occurred between 12 to 18 months, after this the hair will start to mimick more the pre existing hairs and lose it's wiry, curly appearance. Between 9 and 12 months you start seeing what is pretty close to all you're gonna get. At 6 months things are looking up but there is still more growth coming, the first 3 to 4 months are the worst because not much is going on, after the 3rd month you start seeing the beginning stages of what's to come.

If you stick to the recommended surgeons you will have a successful HT that you'll be happy with.

We all know that the hardest part is the wait... That said, Dr. Siporin is located in LA, he does not require shaving the recipient site. I don't think increasing the intake of Finasteride (Propecia/Proscar) will help. Happy growing.

Hello Tommy,
I just looked at your Hair Loss Weblog, congratulations! You picked a first rate specialist and you will be very happy, so far it looks excellent. In my first HT I kept the donor closure dry not knowing any better, that was before I even knew about this Forum, it healed fine. For my second HT I tried to go both ways, keeping it wet half the time and it healed just fine as well. This time, for my third HT I went with what was most convenient, dry most of the time, even delaying the first shower by 2 days to give my skin time to heal after the trauma. From experience I seem to heal really well this way and today I could not really see the donor scar at all although the hair is still shorter in this area, so I think it might work slightly better in my personal case but I remember reading here that most Dr.'s recommend keeping the donor site covered with the antibiotic ointment and the recipient site wet with copper peptides sprays and so forth, I just never did any of this.

The same thing happened to me, my HT was almost 7 weeks ago and I still see many transplanted FU holding on, more noticeable on the hairline since it is easier to see. It is not as rare as I used to think.

I have been using Revita shampoo for more than a year and I think it has really helped. You could take some pictures without flash of your head and get online consults from our recommended Dr.'s, if you care to share them with us you'll also get different points of view.

A good Dr will not transect your existing hair, if you pick from the recommended Dr on this forum you'll be fine.

A quick update, it seems the shock loss I experienced has now stabilized to the pace of the normal hair cycle shedding, my hair feels and actually is fuller than at the same time in my HT #2. I feel very relieved, I believe the in office laser, regular exercise and Revita together are making this difference, my theory anyway.

As these guys said, stay on the medication religiously then keep this in mind, we are in a very bad economic downturn and HT Dr.'s are definitely feeling it. Talk to a few surgeons you like, explain your situation and negotiate the fee, I am sure you'll find a much better deal, they have to keep their doors open, some offer free financing, etc...

Hairline advancement is done mostly on females, Dr Kabaker practices several such techniques, he is recommended here, you'll find many posts and his website if you run a search.

Thanks Bill, this really answers my questions.

Thanks Emperor, this confirms what I suspected as the cause residing in the different stages of the handling of the FU's.
Anybody else with other ideas?

NHI in Australia or anywhere DON'T DO IT!!!
Go ONLY with a recommended Dr, do not take chances with your body, and yes, you might need to wait until the economy gets better. There is a recommended Dr in Pakistan, he might be cheaper.

These guys gave you great advice. I'll confirm by saying:
1- Stabilize your hair loss by taking Finasteride daily or EOD for ONE year to check the effectiveness, you can add Rogaine to this daily regimen. Remember, once you start it's for life, if you stop you'll lose what you gained.
2- Use a good medicated shampoo, I use Revita and it does help
3- Research, research , research. Getting free consults with recommended Dr.'s is also research
4- Do not rush your decision, the more research, the more knowledge, the better the decision you'll make.

In the past few months I have been reading a lot of topics concerning Dr's de Yarman, Armani, Epstein (recently reinstated), etc... The common denominator being patients disappointed by their HT results.
Now, when it comes to low yield in a FUE HT I understand the main reason being damage to the FU during extraction, are there any other explanations?
What would be the main causes of poor results in a strip HT? (of course excluding infections, illness or other unusual events)
Thanks gang

Good thing you are taking Rogaine and Propecia, the only other thing I could suggest when it come to topicals is a good shampoo, I use Revita and I think it might have made a small difference, either way it is a high quality shampoo. You should stay on the meds all you life, for the Dr choice, keep doing your research and go visit a few to get free consults, do some free consults over the phone as well for the furthest from you. After your HT you won't see much noticeable growth until 4 months, more noticeable at 6 months, 9 to 12 months is when it gets good, slow patients wait 18 months to see the final results. The Dr's you consult with will give you their personal opinion on how much to do now while keeping a perspective on the future, you'll hear many different opinions which will help you come to your own conclusions, the better you understand the process the better the decision.

It is now about 4 weeks after the HT and although I have some shock loss it is minimal especially if I compare it with the shock loss I experienced in my HT #2. I am not sure I know why but I have a theory, this time I made sure to maintain my regular exercise regimen as close as I could before the HT and resume (carefully) as soon as possible after, I have been using Revita shampoo for over one year, I continued the in office laser sessions once a week right after the HT. These are the things I did differently and I can tell that in spite of the small shock loss (I think some could be mechanical loss because of the tapes and bandages on the head during the HT) I seem to already have much more fullness than at the same time after my HT#2, I have a gut feeling that I'll get the density I am looking for. I will report here and on my blog next time I have something relevant to add.

A good medicated shampoo I have been using is Revita, very high quality, my hair is also naturally dry and Revita makes it look the best of all the products I have used in the past, plus it helps slow down the hair loss.
