  1. Does anyone know if there are any statistics for growth rate for fue? For example, I have been told by a few good strip doctors that the growth rate for strip is 98-100%. I have not heard about the growth rate for fue. I also assume this depends greatly about who the doctor is as well. But, assuming the doctor is top notch, will all the hair grow in?
  2. Joe, And About how many repititions per day (up and down is one rep) is ideal? Thanks
  3. Sorry guys, I also posted this question in "new topics"
  4. Hugh, We have similar hair types. Do you find that your strip scar is noticeable much? How about when your hair gets wet? How big is your scar? Any concerns about the scar? Any incite is much appreciated. Thanks
  5. Smoothy, Do you think it is just safer to take the 3 months off? I hate to do it, cause you lose so much in that time, but i can always get it back. By the way, at 6 weeks, are you at full intensity with your workouts?
  6. Dear All, Any serious weight lifters (4-6 days per week, heavy lifting) have transplants and how soon did you resume your heavy and intense routine? Is a month of no lifting enough time to wait? Does heavy lifting have any negative side effects if done too soon? ie. lack of hair growth or scar stretch? Anyone with some negative results from heavy lifting too soon? Anyone lift heavy with no negatives? Are there any scientific or clinical data or standard protocol on this topic?

  8. Gambo, Do you have any 6 month pics? How is your growth coming? The scar looks pretty thin. You must be pleased.
  9. Whoops, It appears that Dr.Jones has taken donor hair above and below areas that are normally thought of as areas that are predisposed for baldness. He has increased the areas of traditional donor area to take from. What are your thoughts?
  10. Smoothy-Don't assume anything. You have to get evaluated by 2-3 excellent doctors who can actually look at your donor area first before getting a final estimation. Everyone is different.
  11. My feeling, if this is a possibility, is remove this new substandard version, and completely restore the old site now. Continue to tinker with the new site, on the side, and figure out how to transfer all of the pictures over first, before eliminating the much more valuable first site. I thought the first site was great. The best thing to do if you make a mistake is try to fix it, even it means going back to the original one.
  12. And yesterday, i could not reply to a post. Again, hope they get the pictures back soon. The pictures are probably the most important part of this site. Without them, this siting is much less compelling.
  13. I am not sure if i am missing something obvious, but this website has a new format and all of the pictures have disappeared. Help anyone?

  15. Cliff, Do you have any pictures to see your results
  16. JCG, Are you finally getting some growth? And how much so far? Thanks
  17. Thanks for the input, Grateful Head. Keep rocking!
  18. has anyone used toppik after a transplant? How many days post op? Do you think that using toppik can interfere with growth?

  20. you could also try buzz cutting or shaving your hair first to see how you look. Some people look excellent with that style. Also, try and take care of yourself. Eat healthy, exercise, work out and stay confident. These things may help you look great without the surgery.
  21. Since you are so young, you have to assume that you are going to continue to recede in the hairline. So, if you get an ht now, you will need to do follow up work down the line. I would always put off surgery for as long as possible, especially at such a young age, because you don't know how bad it will get. You could try revivogen or propecia. I started on propecia a few months back. I personally do not like taking drugs and no one knows the long term effects. But, i hate losing my hair more, so i am trying it. I would definitely wait on the hair transplant.
  22. Anyone have any experiences with Dr. True from Nyc?

  24. To play devils advocate, no one can say also what a strip scar will look like look term. The technology is 10 years old, give or take. Yet, most of us are considering or having these surgeries because we are willing to take a risk on looking better now, while risking some scar issues at a later date. No one can really predict the future on scars on either surgery 100%. Ultimitely, you want to get the best possible results for the least amount of scarring. Although my instinct is that fue scarring (and i have only seen pictures) may be less noticable over time than strip. But who knows. At the same time, no doctor, except Woods, seems to have more than 1 or 2 after pictures of fue work. The N. American doctors have only been doing this for about a year or so, it seems. Whereas there are thousands of good strip patients with solid after pictures to bank your decision off of. I would feel much less comfortable getting a fue procedure on the results of one or two results. That is not statistically significant at all. Fue seems that a real attractive alternative, but its just in its infancy. Strip has about a 10 year track record. I'd rather have more secure results now than roll the dice with fue. It all comes down to risk/reward. Yet, everyone has to do what feels most comfortable for them.
