In search of a very good hair transplant surgeon

Hello, I'm 51 and had two transplants done by a very bad surgeon. The hair was not inserted on a forward angle as I have been told it should have been. I also look a little thin on top and the hairline makes me look like I had a transplant. This surgeon also did a very bad job sewing up the doner area and left me with an 8mm scar. I have heard that Dr. Hasson from Vancouver is one of the best. I live in the Washington, D.C. area and I'm wondering if there are other surgeons closer to me who might be just as good. I will go to Vancouver if I have to, but I would avoid it if I can find someone as good closer to home. There are many names of doctors that this site would recommend as good surgeons. I don't want to make another mistake. I want one of the very best out there. If you have an opinion about a surgeon to avoid, I would also appreciate your input. Thanks.

Hi Widescar (great name, btw!),

I'm sorry to hear about your poor transplant experiences. As I'm sure you've learned by now, it's a difficult process to navigate, but putting in the time and finding an excellent surgeon really leads to great results! As you noticed, Dr. Hasson (of Hasson & Wong) is truly one of the best in the world. His clinic is revolutionary, and arguably performing some of the biggest follicular unit transplantation (FUT) mega-sessions today.

While I'd highly recommend Dr. Hasson, if you are looking to stay closer to the D.C. area, you can review some of our recommended hair transplant surgeons in your region: http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/hair-loss-doctors.asp.

While we don't currently recommend any surgeons in Washington D.C., we do recommend some excellent doctors in Virginia and North Carolina.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.
