Regular Member Midiman Posted August 4, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted August 4, 2006 At almost three weeks post-op, I'm noticing that my newly transplanted hair is becoming quite brittle and dry, even though I'm using a Nioxin conditioner every day. Is this normal? Maybe a sign that it'll soon be shedding? '06/2500 w/Dr. Keene '07/1500 w/Dr. Keene My Hair Loss Weblog

Senior Member Robert_ Posted August 4, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted August 4, 2006 Yup. Your new best friends will begin jumping ship any minute now. It's a good sign, though - a sign of progress. If I had to put a number on the number of grafts that will stick around for the average patient, I'd say about 85% shed and the rest stick around. All just part of the fun! -Robert ------------------------------ Check out the results of my surgical hair restoration performed by Dr. Jerry Cooley by visiting my Hair Loss Weblog
Regular Member Midiman Posted August 5, 2006 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 5, 2006 Good to know... thanks. When I lightly touch the hair, it literally feels like all the life has been taken out of them. I wasn't expecting it so soon but I guess you're right.. it's a good sign.
