Re: Should I be worried

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I had a HT about 4 months ago. I have seen a little bit of growth but not totally what I was expecting. Should I be worried at this stage and how long does it take for the full results?

Thanks

Hi JayJay,

Welcome to this forum! At four months you should begin to see the re-growth but it does take up to one year or so for the procedure to reach full maturation including caliper development (diameter thickness of original terminal hair). Sounds like everything is right on track.

Not sure how many grafts you had done but you are sure to see more comin! icon_cool.gif

Jayjay,

Just like Gillenator said, at 4 months you are only just starting to sprout. Things should start picking up in terms of thickening and maturation as the next couple of months go by. The first 4 months are the hardest part of the wait. After that, months 5 through 7 should yield some happy times for you.

Everybody is different with healing and results also the same person can have different healing times on different procedures-- I have.

My doctor, Dr. Shapiro, says at 4 months on the average about 20-25% regrowth, then 6-7 month about 70% regrowth which continues up to 12 month and sometimes up to 18 month as the hair that has regrown will continue to grow stronger, longer, and bigger in diameter.

Hang in there, and try using ROgaine in the grafts to help jump start the growth as many top surgeon's recommend, also look into taking MSM as well as Propecia which will help the new grafts.
