Regular Member dafuzz Posted January 23, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted January 23, 2004 I am currently 7 months post-op from an 1200 graft procedure with Dr. Bernstein and I have developed a somewhat severe case of dandruff. I've never had dandruff before and I am wondering if anyone else has dealt with this. My results have been pretty good but I'm waiting for the hairs to thicken for more coverage up front. Perhaps the dandruff is a sign of good things to come?

Senior Member NC30 Posted January 23, 2004 Senior Member Share Posted January 23, 2004 Are you using minoxidil? When I was using Minoxidil, I had a non-stop supply of dandruff.
Regular Member phl Posted January 23, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted January 23, 2004 I had a similiar experience about my 5th month. Dr B. suggested a tar-based dandruff shampoo but it was a little too strong for my scalp and, after using other shampoos, I finally got rid of it. It seems some people's scalps are more sensitive and an HT can sometimes trigger bouts of dandruff. Try any mild shampoo, preferably without alcohol (like Biotin), clean the scales off good, and don't have the shower water too warm. It will eventually go away.
