Post operation care questions

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I haven't seen much information on some of the questions I have below, hoping to get some advice or just start some engaging discussions.

1. Thoughts/opinions on herbal remedies post-op (rosemary, coconut oil, aloe, ginseng etc.) - are these effective supplements and when should/can you start applying them?

2. Exercise? The Post-op care guidance provided by the clinic was a bit vague i.e. light sports after 2 weeks and weightlifting + contact/intensive sports after 1 month. Is this the golden rule, is it better to prolong these durations to be safe (ie 2 months before intense sports, although every sport I play gets pretty intense lol so I'm not sure what 'light sports' actually are) or is exercise good for circulation and hair growth?

3. Showers and water temperature. When can you start standing directly under a hot shower? how long should you continue the gentle washing procedures shown in the clinic?

4. Should you double up on PRP treatments (package of 2 to 3 sessions) in the year immediately following your procedure?

That's all I have for now, but feel free to respond or put your own questions in this thread - hopefully we can get some 'experts' to opine!

Wait at least a week to start weightlifting light. 2 to 3 weeks to start going heavier or jogging. You'll know when to stop or when you're going too hard because you'll feel your head either pounding or getting hot and heavy (hard to explain it). I'd wait at least 2 months for contact sports. There's no golden rule on any of this, so some others opinions may be slightly different, but basically just stay away from doing much of anything other than walking the first week and then gradually ease into more intense things over the next few weeks.

If you have a very low pressure shower or if you can adjust the setting to a light/low flow then 5 or 6 days is OK otherwise wait until 8 days to go to a strong flow. Don't go hot. Warm is fine, but stay away from it being very hot for a few weeks.

I wouldn't do that at all, but that's me.
