Hello everybody, I hope you all are doing well. I would like to share my HT case in this form, and I hope it will help someone who is looking to get a hair transplant done. Also, I would say thank you to all members for creating such a good place to share and communicate with other people and use each other's experience.

About me

I’m almost 29 years old.

I’ve been taking finasteride for almost 1.5 years.

Baldness grade: IV

My hair loss has started since I was 19 by affecting the corners of my hairline, and it became much more severe when I became 25, so I lost the hairs in my crown and my mid scalp started to get thinner and thinner.  Since I wanted to travel to Istanbul to visit my family there, I was kind of limited to the surgeons in Istanbul, so I consulted with some clinics such as FueCapilar, Dr. Bicer and Dr. Yamal. I didn’t get any response from  Dr. Bicer after I sent my information to them. Although the communication was fast and good with Dr, Yaman clinic, I didn't feel safe to go there since I felt they rush to book and do the surgery! So after reading the different reviews about FueCapilar in this form and the way they didn’t rush to book me in and suggesting that I should start taking finasteride for at least a year before surgery I decided to go with Dr. Dogan Turan.

Before surgery

I won't repeat what we all know about the process before operation, but everything such as transport, hotel, food, and translator was awesome!

The day of surgery.

We went to the clinic and had a consultation with Dr, Turan and the translator Ahmet for almost 5-10 minutes (In my opinion this part could be much better because it seems they don’t negotiate with patient to have any specific plan for each patient , and usually the doctor himself don’t talk to you and you must make sure they know what are you looking for!!) So I let them know that my biggest concern is my crown and the mid scalp, not the hairline. So we the doctor did design my hairline and I asked him to just fill the corners a little, and not bring it lower at all so that we can make the crown more dense, and it looks more natural as well. Then they shaved my hair and showed my donor area my microscope for just a minute which in my case was pointless. The anesthesia was okay for me, and I didn't feel much pain overall (maybe 4 out of 10) . They did extract and implant in 4 sessions during 2 days and average 1000 graphs in each session. They used manual punch for the sides and motorized for the back side of the donor area. (in my opinion it is good that they divide the extraction and implantation in session so nobody gets tired and graphs stay out of the body less.)  I believe they were working on one or two more patients except me in the clinic.  Extracting and anesthesia has been done by technicians and the implantation has been done by Dr. Turan himself.  It is good to mention that I read a review in which a patient was complaining about the hygiene situation in the clinic. I would say the sterility of the clinic and the equipment is debatable, but it’s not too bad or so good. For example all staff put their mask under their nose and or the door in the implantation room was open, but overall for a surgery like hair transplant it was okay.

The day after surgery

Due to the holiday in Turkey the clinic was closed and unfortunately the doctor himself wasn’t present to check up and just a nurse and a guy came and washed my head and gave me the necessary medication, and that's all.

* I haven’t get the official documents from clinic about the donor distribution yet, butI will update the post when I get it,  but as I understood they implant almost 1300-1400 in hairline almost 700 in mid scalp and almost 1700-1800 in crown In total 3938 graphs.

I would appreciate it if you tell me your opinion about the work!, and feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Hello everybody, here is a quick update of my hair transplant process 15 days after surgery with Dr. Dogan Turan in Istanbul.

The hardest part was sleeping during the first week because the donor area was so annoying, but after that everything was fine and the donor and implanted area have been healing well, and all scabs have fallen after 10th wash.

The new implanted hairs are growing alongside my native hairs, however the hairs in frontal and temporal seem growing faster than the hairs in crown which I think would be normal.

The only problem I have is that my hairline on the left and right side are not the same and mirror and the right side is slightly off! Also my biggest concern is the density in the crown and mid scalp areas which I lost most of my hairs in those areas.

What do you guys think about the density in those areas? How dense should I expect at the end?!

Here are some pictures in natural light.
