Hello fellow mates. Long time lurker took the plunge .

just got out and everything went well. Initial estimate was 2700-3200 , 42yr, NW4 , loosing since last 10yrs. Started taking fin now since doc consultation.
Took VIP package, have great donor area as per doc. extraction and channel opening by doc everything else by team.

Medical team was great and good facility .
Actual process was less pain , real pain were the injections and the very uncomfortable pillow or far tissue role under neck for final insertion of grafts. Suggested them to use foam pillow if feasible.

Posted pics, awaiting for your kind feedback.

if any equations - travel to here , clinic , procedure - ask away !
! Thanks for all the great updates and feedback form everyone here !

Q: I do have a question myself since we exceeds initial estimate , how does one verify the grafts count ? Was not provided a breakdown, only final count. Can pictures tell the count ?

Happy growing. It looks great. We need to see the pre op pics though before the surgery with long hair to understand your hair loss problem.

Thanks , will sure post more pre-surgery pics once i get back from travel.

Got the first wash done and dr took a good look commenting all is going well . The wash was bit painful and all bandages removed,  head now feels all stiff around the lobe - like wearing a tight tennis band. It’s nice cool weather so was good to be out without the bandage.

Still wondering on the graft count. I am a mathematics phd :) so it intrigues me if this can be counted from picture. 3350 is a good chunk of dots to spread over.

If I look at one of the far back corners and draw out the approx 100 grafts it would need x33 of those areas ..understood the frontal lobe gets more dense. But, still a bit skeptical at the count - or perhaps not doing it right .

€1.5/gft booking made back in sept2023

So that's what he charges. The 1.5per?

I'm trying to get in with him. They said maybe April. Waiting to hear back on assessment

That’s the VIP package where doc does the extractions from donor. For standard package it’s €3K for an estimated 3k grafts plus minus 10%. Difference in standard is that the medical team does the extractions.

not sure about your hair loss history or age. For a good donor area , I think standard is a very economical package, given the quality of service.

If you do go Vip, You should also consider Dr.Turan which is great option for that range and many think he has better outcome. Good luck !

As I was here for a couple of more days. Went back for another wash.

Have a good amount of swelling on the back, the clinic team says it’s normal. I think sleeping and lying down on neck pillow might be contributing as well.

This was first wash of recipient area. The technician was pushed firm at few spots and I asked if that was normal?

As per them, for self-wash they recommend the least risky method -which is , not even to touch or pat very gently. But, he does it day in day out, so knows that pressing the foam does no harm. (Asking never hurts , so wanted to make sure )

Did not run into doc today. As during previous visits, everyone was busy doing the 2 procedures going on, but it was nice that couple of nurses came around to check my progress and looked at various places. They chatted between themselves.
I guess another few days of swelling or weekend I suppose.
