6 month update:

I let my hair grow out this last month for the first time and ended up gettin a trim on the sides and back a couple of days ago. So far so good. I am hoping density will improve in the next 6 months.

A couple of notes…

I noticed that my transplanted hair grows vertically. The photos  give the appearance that I have spiked my hair, however that is simply the way it grows out. I recall reading somewhere that growth initially starts that way and eventually the hair transitions to, for lack of a better term, “sitting down”.

My donor area is still looking rather poor. I was expecting better recovery since I do not believe I was over-harvested.

I took a photo highlighting the gap between my native hair and transplanted hair on the left side of my head. I am concerned that gap will remain and I will have to style my hair to disguise it.

Most of these photos are in the same exact lighting as my previous updates, however I took another photo outside to display the density thus far.

That crown is a piece of absolute beauty mate. Density and swirl absolutely spot on. Rest looks pretty good too, agreed donor is a little thin and the left hand side of your hairline has a tiny gap, but I think that makes it more natural than anything, doesn’t bother me. Only noticeable point to me, HT hawk central, is the donor, but I bet no one out there would ever pick up on it.

I am a NW6 and thinking of going with Dr. Bansal  - do you feel like she was involved enough with the procedure? what percent of the time would you say she was in there supervising?  I am a little hesistant because sounds like a lot of the work is outsourced to the technicians. your hair looks great.

I signed up for the premium package which included design and complete slits performed by Dr Bansal. I really did not have too much communication with her. The design process took probably 8 minutes. She looked at my hairline drew some lines and asked if I agreed. I said I preferred something more aggressive and she lowered the original hairline she created and said she liked it better this way. She then used some device to measure how level the line was. She looked at my crown and drew a circle where she was going to implant. All of this was done before the headshave. There was no explanation of how many grafts were to be extracted or how they were to be arranged. That discussion must have happened amongst the providers while I was waiting.

As far as how involved she was during the procedure I am not sure. I had a blindfold on the whole time to protect my eyes from the overhead light. When my eyes were not covered it was usually just the techs around doing prep work. The doctors would rotate in and out periodically during extraction/implantation. Probably 5 different surgeons for sure. I could not tell who was doing what as they did not introduce themselves by name, except for perhaps one of the female surgeons whose name I can not recall. Maybe it was Dr Das?

Most of my communication was handled through the techs and the patient care rep who came and checked on me for bathroom breaks and what not.

If you want a more involved experience with Dr. Bansal you would probably have to elect the highest packaged.
