Senior Member mrkneed Posted December 23, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted December 23, 2008 Hi I am almost 3 weeks out and my scalp is pink and feels slightly warm at times my question is this a normal feeling? Second is when are you in the safezone of donor shockloss? Thanks My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Keene

Bill - Seemiller
mrkneed, As your scalp is healing, you will experience a number of sensations. Your scalp may be a little warmer due to the blood rushing there to heal the wounds. Can you rephrase your second question? Recipient and donor area shock loss can occur over the first several weeks after a hair transplant. In my case, week 5 and 6 were the worst for shock loss. Senior Member imissthebarber Posted December 27, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted December 27, 2008 Bill - can you clarify "week 5 and 6 were the worst for shock loss"? Does this mean that the most amount of hairs fell out in weeks 5 and 6 and then it was stable for several weeks before it grew back, or, was there a noticeable improvement from week 7? Thanks
Regular Member Yogi's Dad Posted December 28, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted December 28, 2008 Mr. Kneed- I had pinkness for a solid month, tapering back to normal around 6-8 weeks. My shock loss seemed to have maxed out around two months and then native hair regrowth started to return. Cheers!
Bill - Seemiller
imissthebarber, Yes, that is what I'm saying from my personal experience. By the 5th to 7th week, I looked the worst, and then the shocked hair didn't start to return for several more weeks. But this isn't everyone's experience.
