Regular Member baldfighter Posted May 24, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted May 24, 2023 (edited) Hi everyone! Today I bumped my head into a metal bar, not very hard but I still feel the pain. It's the frontal area of my head where I have transplanted hairs. I don't see any bleeding. What is the chance of damaging my grafts due to direct trauma 19 days post op? Many thanks! Regular Member duckling Posted May 24, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted May 24, 2023 after 19 days? nothing is going to happen. your transplanted hair are now as secured as your native hair. imagine bumping head without a HT, its the same situation now. but because of HT your scalp is more sensitive so better try not to bump it again as its going to hurt more than normal.

Regular Member baldfighter Posted May 26, 2023 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 26, 2023 Thank you guys for the reassurance! I was worried because I read that trauma to the grafts should be avoided for months, for example heading the ball in soccer should be avoided. So the trauma still does something to the grafts? Unlikely. It has been proven in several studies that the maximum time which the folicles may require to anchor to the head is 14 days. Other then that you should be fine. What if the graft is pulled out with dry skin / scabbing 6 weeks post op? Not the same kind of scabbing as days 6-10, it’s more like dry skin. Dry skin around that time doesn't really do nothing to the graft as it's already rooted like native hairs.
