Senior Member FinallyHT Posted May 14, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted May 14, 2023 My hair loss started 17 years ago and I have been on meds since then. Fin and top minoxidil have helped slow but not my hair loss. I had a hair transplant of 3,400 grafts back in 2019 to the hairline. The doctor didn’t add grafts down the middle of my scalp and there are gaps or thinning down my scalp. Is there a good doctor who can operate between these hairs. See pictures attached Age: 40 Hairloss began at age 23. Oral Finasteride 1mg daily since 2006, Topical Minoxidil since 2012. Hair transplant 3,400 grafts 2019. Second hair transplant 2,400 grafts in 2023.
Regular Member duckling Posted May 14, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted May 14, 2023 You dont need a HT because Risk is higher than reward for you. .. even if you get a doctor to agree to add grafts , you run a risk of losing those new grafts due to not enough blood supply as your grafts will fight with so much existing hair for it. And you might also get permanent shock loss in these area where you lose existing hair which you werent losing previously
Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted May 14, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted May 14, 2023 I would echo what duckling just said...you dont need a HT...imo risk would be higher thn reward for sure... Still you may send this picture to some best doctors and see what they have to tell you...imo they would reject you.. Senior Member FinallyHT Posted May 14, 2023 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 14, 2023 Why was my first hair transplant doctor able to sense back 3400 grafts into my hairline and corners of existing hairs? Can you not do the same down the vertex and crown? see pictures. Age: 40 Hairloss began at age 23. Oral Finasteride 1mg daily since 2006, Topical Minoxidil since 2012. Senior Member mr_peanutbutter Posted May 15, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted May 15, 2023 like already stated: the win/reward ratio isnt in your favor change to a slicked back hairstyle, problem solved without any hairtransplants
