Hi, everyone.

I had my procedure done 22 february 2022, so it's been just over 12 months since my procedure. I had 2200 grafts implanted in temple areas and midscalp. Although there has been a big improvement overall, i'm not quite happy with the density achieved. I'm not sure if it's because of unrealistic expectations, or whether it's in fact because some issue with the procedure or growth. I would like to hear your opinion on my results. Before and after pictures are included below.

Also, a few hairs are pointed out at wrong angles, which i have to cut because they are impossible to style. Luckily there is not too many of those..

It looks great besides the few grafts that have been implanted wrong but can't say that you've had a bad result. It is as realistic as it gets even if one side has slightly less density thats how the natural hairline usually is for most people. Not sure if you're on any medications but I'd definitely advise to do everything you can to maintain what you have.

Good to hear, thank you. Been on finasteride for 12 years actually, has probably significantly slowed down progression

It looks great from the front but what i want to ask is this, do you feel a difference in your hair, especially this area when you style it compared to berore your transplant? Does it feel thicker or easier to achieve the hairstyle that you want?

I thought it looked good until I saw the misangled hairs and the photos in harsh lighting, which makes it obvious some grafts just didn’t grow. Who was your doctor?

It’s not bad, but I wouldn’t call it elite level. If it were me I’d get another one. Still an improvement.

Also, your hair looks coarse. I’d expect a thicker looking result.

The hairline could be improved. The end-result makes it seem like you still have a receding hairline. (I am assuming here that your MPB is not that bad and you have enough donor for a NW1 result)

The misangled hair are obviously an error on the surgeon part. If there seriously are only a few of them, I say kill them off with electrolysis. Or you can get them extracted out and reimplanted elsewhere during your net procedure.

@Henry is anyone who meets you going to know that you've had a hair transplant (that's not a member of this forum)? No way! I think it's looks great and the hair line looks like a lots of guys that you would meet on the street. Remember the search for perfection is all very well. But to look for heaven means to live here in hell. 😉

Not really concerned about the hairline design, dont really mind having a slightly receded hairline. But would like some more density though

There is a difference in that area. Its still a little thin, so i usually apply a little toppik midscalp to achieve a fuller look

I see. I think your doctor did an amazing job. Everything from the planning, graft use and result, i think it was outstanding.

Edit: The misangled hair is a big error by the surgeon though, sorry. Just because of that very basic error i take back what i said. Lol, without the misangled hair I'd say this is a 9.5 out of 10.

You’ve obviously had a good result, in my opinion. After a bit of time a minor, and I say minor 2nd pass to achieve just a bit more density on the hair line would be what I would do. But, I think it looks good. As I’ve said before and I’ll say again, now you don’t have to watch your hair line disappear if you choose to proceed with a 2nd HT to get a little more density. Bottom line, I like it.

I’ll go even farther to say that, given the right surgeon and donor, you might be able to achieve a hairline that looks hmmm how do I say Hollywood/ a styled type of thickness everyday. I mean that in the sense that with another HT and the right product for styling like you see guys do (ease of use of course, such as a wax product) you could have damn near perfect living in heaven/hell (Gatsby slays it 😂😂) hair.

The saying you get what you pay for has never been more applicable than the hair transplant industry.  However, I’d wait and leave it be for a while, at least 18 months post op to see how things progress before making another appointment.

Thank you for your opinion! I will probably have another procedure, but will lilely wait at least until next year

The wait and see for a year makes sense. The density on the left looks like it could be improved and refined. This next procedure calls out for one of the elite hairline clinics—a Shapiro, Konior, H&W, or Rahal—all possibilities, I would have them make you suggestions—and be interested if you would post the responses.
