Regular Member Ray786 Posted March 4, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted March 4, 2023 Hello, It’s day 22 of my hair transplant surgery. 1. These past 8 days my hair has been super dry and I have developed dandruff and flakes, I was using the shampoo the clinic gave which finished, I switched to baby shampoo hair developed dandruff and flakes stopped baby shampoo and bought rosemary clarifying shampoo and hair still has dandruff. Is this normal? Will this affect my hair hair transplant results , what should I do?? my clinic said to look for natural shampoo but I don’t know what that means lol. 2. My donor area is still red and itches is this normal on day 22? 3. last thing my shedding has been horrible these past 5 days it’s to the point where I’m losing 40-50 hair in the shower. Is it too soon to shed?? thanks guys I appreciate the help
Regular Member Xanadu Posted March 5, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted March 5, 2023 Looks like just dry skin. Maybe skip the shampoo for a day or two.
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted March 5, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted March 5, 2023 Stop using shampoo. I had the same problem with hair transplant number one. I didn’t start using shampoo for two months. My scalp was just bone dry. Expect shedding to occur for at least a month. The donor area will take a few months at the very least to bounce back. The ugly duckling phase can last for up to 3-4 months. All the best. 2 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
