Regular Member davidk Posted January 23, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted January 23, 2023 How long after a hair transplant can I expect my hair to look "normal." That is not to say, the new hair has grown in, but just how long until I get to a point where things like redness/scaring/pimples have mostly disappeared. I am supposed to be in a friend's wedding in 6 months and I am wondering if it might be wise to wait until after that before getting a transplant. I am excited to get a transplant, but I am also ok waiting if there is a risk I won't really be "photo ready" in 6 months.
Regular Member HHH Posted January 23, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted January 23, 2023 Depends if you need to shave fully or not. I looked normal after about 3 months unshaved, as the new hairs coming through blend in with the existing if you have a longer hair style. 4+ months and you should be fine. Senior Member Chetman2112 Posted January 23, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 23, 2023 6 months you should be looking good as long as you go to a good surgeon. Look at @AStarkand @lindros88both are around that timeframe and look like they have full growth.
Senior Member pkipling Posted January 24, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted January 24, 2023 I would say that most likely, you'll be looking back to normal after 6 months - and hopefully with some significant growth under your belt. For reference, I'm attaching my photos, and the bottom left photo is me at 6 months post-op. (Top right is 4 months, and bottom right is 12 months.)
