  1. I had a hair transplant a few weeks ago. My doctor told me no contact sports for 4 weeks. But I am curious specifically about soccer because of head balls. It seems a little iffy to be having a ball hitting your head with some decent force 4 weeks after surgery. Does anyone have any experience with this? When did any of you play soccer again after your transplant? When do people think it is safe/ok to play soccer again?
  2. I had a hair transplant two weeks ago. Currently I have virtually no sense of feeling on the top of my head (I can't feel anything when I touch it). And the back of my head has a lot of numbness to the point it feels uncomfortable to lay on my back. I am curious if other people experienced the same thing? If so, how long did it last for you?
  3. I am flying from the US to Istanbul in a couple weeks for my hair transplant. I am curious from people who have gone through this if there is anything they wish they knew ahead of time. Any prep I should do? Anything I should bring with me that might not be obvious? Any advice? Given the procedure is in a different country and involves a lot of flying, I just want to make sure I make it as "easy" as possible for myself. Thanks everyone!
  4. I spoke to a doctor and his suggestion was to do the extraction over 2 days fully manually to help reduce the risk of over harvesting. So something like 2000-2500 grafts each day. Curious if people think that is a reasonable approach to reduce risk? It sounds logical to me but always good to hear from other people! Attachdd are photos.
  5. I am only using doctors on the recommended list, no hair mills. Dr. Yaman suggested 4500 grafts. Eugenix said 5000 (including some from the beard), Bicer suggested 4000 grafts, and Nader suggested 4000 grafts.
  6. I have talked to quite a few clinics at this point. The general feedback is my donor area is healthy and I should get anywhere from 3500-4500 grafts. I am really worried about over harvesting and (slightly less so, but still worried) about having an unnatural hairline. I am wondering if these risks can be reduced if I opt for fewer grafts with the intention of doing a second procedure in a year. I have the flexibility where doing two procedures would be fine, so if this is a smart way to reduce risk, it might make sense for me to go this path and ease my concerns. Is this a sound approach? Will it lower the risk or should I just follow the original suggestion of the clinic?
  7. How long after a hair transplant can I expect my hair to look "normal." That is not to say, the new hair has grown in, but just how long until I get to a point where things like redness/scaring/pimples have mostly disappeared. I am supposed to be in a friend's wedding in 6 months and I am wondering if it might be wise to wait until after that before getting a transplant. I am excited to get a transplant, but I am also ok waiting if there is a risk I won't really be "photo ready" in 6 months.
  8. I had a similar concern. This is my only option right now, but I could wait until next year and go with someone else like Nader or maybe Turan or Gur. Do you think any of them produce more reliable results? That is, is it worth waiting for one of them?
  9. You think they should not be on the recommended list? Who would you recommend instead?
  10. I have an appointment coming up with Dr Resul Yaman. I have seen many pictures that he has posted which look good to me. I also know he is recommended by this forum. I picked him with these factors in mind + trying to stay within an $8000 budget. But I also have seen some people in this community on old forum posts talking about bad experiences with him. It is hard to tell if these were one offs or more common. I guess I am wondering what is the general consensus on his work from this community? Would it make more sense for me to wait for someone else or do people here think I am in good hands? My other option right now would be to go to Dr. Luis Nader but that would mean waiting until the end of the year (sometime around November or December) whereas I can get the operation next month from Yaman. I also tried to reach out to Dr Turan and Dr Gur but did not hear back from either. What do people think? Go with Yaman or wait for Nader or a different option? My preference would be to do the procedure soon, and for that, Yaman is the only current good option, but of course I would rather wait and get a good result than have it now and have a bad result! Thanks in advance for the advice! P.S. - I posted a similar question earlier today but I think maybe it was misplaced in a different area of the forum so it did not get any responses.
  11. I am potentially getting a hair transplant from Dr. Yaman soon and before I make my final decision I just wanted to hear from the community to make sure he is still held in high regard. I know he is on the recommended list but I wanted to confirm from experienced members here that he is a good choice. The price he is offering is excellent for me so as long as people feel he does good work it seems like a great choice for me. The procedure would be DHI. Thanks in advance for your help!
  12. I did reach out to Eugenix. Their base price was really low. But the price to get a transplant from Dr. Bansal was actually quite high. Is there another doctor there that is also recommended? She was the only one I saw.
