Regular Member Jayson1361 Posted November 4, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted November 4, 2022 I was curious about this topic as I’ve heard the dry shampoo at least some of them can be bad for the scalp. I’ve also heard that others are just fine for the scalp, even if used every day.
Senior Member StillAlive Posted November 4, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted November 4, 2022 It's very hard to do real damage to your scalp just by using shampoo, dry or otherwise. Shampoo wise, all you need is Nizoral 2% (once a week) to clean some DHT off your scalp and then use whatever you want for your daily washes. Shampoo alone will never make that much of a difference in terms of hair loss/hair strength.
Senior Member BaldReaper Posted March 26, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted March 26, 2023 good question, @Melvin- Moderator do you know if dry shampoo helps increase (visibly) the density?
Regular Member Evan42 Posted November 18, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted November 18, 2023 It's a good question. I've used dry shampoo for a few years now and I really like it. If your hair is oily and you don't have time for a shower it is really handy. It sounds like it's just best to use it on occasion. This is from an article written by Hairclub: However, dry shampoos are not meant to replace regular shampooing, and overuse could result in hair loss and inhibit hair growth. When used several times a week, the ingredients in dry shampoo can build up on the hair follicle. This build-up weakens the follicle and may cause inflammation, which can also increase hair shedding. The other downside of dry shampoo is that the powders they contain can cause hair follicles to stick together, so when a normal hair sheds, it may take a few extra strands with it.
