Hello dear community, after 4 years of research and concern to perform a hair transplant, I have finally chosen the HLC clinic in Ankara. The procedure was carried out on 29.9 and 30.9.

About the procedure: The driver from HLC picked me up at the airport in Ankara. Transportation was smooth and also the booking in the hotel across the street from the HLC clinic was organized in advance.  In general, everything was top organized. The next day we went to the consultation at 9 o'clock in the morning. The head physician and two doctors including hairline specialist spent just over an hour until finally the hairline was exactly defined. Because of this great care I felt in very good hands (I was already satisfied, but the doctors discussed again for half an hour and changed the hairline again and again until finally the planning was complete). The front was transplanted with a 50 graft/cm2 density. In the middle back where there was still residual hair with a 30  graft/cm2 density. My donor is very good. Head donor was estimated at 8500-9000 grafts. That day the first half was implanted and the second day the remaining grafts were implanted. I have a lot of multigrafts which should have a positive effect on my density (even though I have thin hair). Now I am curious how the growth will continue. On October 11, I will be allowed to remove the remaining crusts. I hope it will be a life-changing investment for me.

About possible medications: I am considering minoxidil for the tonsure a month after the hair transplant. This one is a little thinning, but still keeping within limits. In general, my hair loss is very slow. From early 20's to almost 32 very slow hair loss. In general, I find that hair loss is relatively stable in the last 2 years. Attached you will find several pictures before and after the surgery.

I would be very pleased about your opinions and evaluations. I will post monthly updates here. Maybe again after the 11th postoperative day how my head looks without scabs.

Greetings and all the best

Nice to see another HLC case. I am exactly 3 months ahead of you with a very similar design as you. I also did 50/30 (hairline/behind to midscalp).

Did Elif do all the extractions and implants? And considering you had a ton of multis I would say this result would be extremely nice once everything grows out.

Looks clean job mate. Happy growing. HLC is a top choice in Turkey so I’m sure about your result that it will be successful. Can you put more pre op photos to see? Also What was the price per graft ?

Hi Vann,

I'll be following up on your case - I'm very curious to see what your end result will be as well as your path to it.
Dr. Elif did everything on me, i.e. extractions and implants.
Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for your feedback. Price per Graft was 2,5 €. I have attached some pre op photos.

Wow that’s interesting. Do you have more pre op photos of the top of your scalp?

Why interesting? I have attached some photos of the top of my scalp approximately 2 months before the transplant. The blue circle shows a little thinning. Maybe I will treat this with Minoxidil or I will do a second transplant if the hair loss will not be stable.

Moreover, you see the results from today - the 12th day after the transplant. Nearly all scabs are removed.

Best regards

interesting because they usually have two doctors work on you. One for extractions and another for implanting. Since they do manual extractions it’s takes a toll on a persons hand after awhile. So I’m surprised they had it done by one person… where there a lot of people when you were there? I would see no reason for them to not want to split some of the work to not exhaust themselves. But then again I’m sure elif is capable of doing it herself. Just curious as to their approach on this particular case.

Mr. Engin replied to my WhatsApp message that the workload (many patients) were high and that my operation was easy. Hopefully my result will not suffer from this.

Yesterday, I got nearly 600 MB images, maybe I will upload some of them.

I am sure they have enough experience to operate by themselves so I wouldnt worry about that. I feel like I have seen a lot of cases of them working in higher volumes. With the addition of a new doctor I wonder if they are taking a different approach.

Thank you for your feedback :)

I have attached some photos 25 days post OP. It grows slowly. I have fear because of the missing density and the slow growing in comparison to my sides and the back head. Can someone please evaluate the status/photos?

25 days post op is no where near the right time to measure density. Just give it time. You have a ton of multi grafts that were placed so give it time to evaluate.

Hi together,

I have attached a picture 6 weeks post op.

The transplanted hairs tend to be upright (and do not fall forward like the non-transplanted hairs) and have a different structure than the non-transplanted hairs. The shedding is within limits. What do you think about the current status?

It's too early to evaluate anything at this point.

The transplanted hairs should have all shed by now (and any that remain may shed up to the 2 month mark)and you are going to have to brace for the 'ugly duckling' stage.  It's essentially looking exactly as it should at this point. Patience man, all you can do right now, is wait.

I also had weird angles but that was because the skin was growing/healing. After like 2 months you kind of see the hairs sprout into very tiny dots that don’t grow for awhile. Then suddenly they start growing.

thing is it really depends on their thickness at that point. If it’s whispy hairs it may take more time to settle and soften. But for now I would say not to worry.

for example my hairs are growing sideways but then curl. While my native hairs grow into the curl when it’s long. So I can see native vs transplanted very easily. But overtime it’s just curling so I believe it will happen and you won’t realize it because time went by.

stay strong for now and be patient,

happy growing.

Looking good at this point for sure. I'd like to ask were there any other clinics on your list that you considered before settling on HLC, and what narrowed it down for you? I'm in the weighing of options currently and HLC appears wholly on par with some of the other ones I'm looking at.

Same here. I'm now considering HLC, Pekiner, Freitas with HLC being the "cheap" option. Not sure if there is a point paying more for other two...

Pekiner is a better choice than HLC and I guess they cost al most the same

Hello togehter,

I attached some pictures. It is now nearly 3 months after the surgery. The weird angles are nearly gone. But the density is missing at the moment although I think nearly all hair are growing. What do you think? Is the progress normal until now? Will the hair still increase in thickness?

Best and merry christmas to you all

You’ll be fine at your current position.

you are probably in the worst phase you can be in with shockloss, shedding, etc. all things considered it only gets better assuming everything went smoothly.

you shouldn’t tray consider density a factor until you reach month 12. At any point your hair could change between its texture and size as it progresses. Just stay strong and wait it out

Hi @mountain,
Any updates?

Thanks.

Hello everyone,

now it's been four months since the hair transplant. I can now watch week after week how the hair becomes thicker and firmer. I hope this continues - I still have 8 months to go. What is your opinion?
