How easy/common is it to dislodge grafts immediately post op?

I see people worry about this a lot, and there’s nothing wrong with being cautious, but really, how secure are the grafts right after the operation? How much force would it take to actually dislodge one?

I've seen people hit their heads and dislodge grafts.  You'll only know if you see a stream of blood running down your head.

The common rule is; no blood = no issue.

By 48 hours your grafts are anchored. By one week your are pretty much good. Unless you try and reconstruct the baseball scene of Robert De Niro as Al Capone in 'The Untouchables' you will be fine!

Don't bump your head.  Don't put anything on your head that might yank on scabs when taken off.  You should be fine.

Per Dr. Mwamaba grafts are more or less secure by 36 hours. After 72 hours, it is impossible to dislodge grafts. 

The no blood = no dislodge rule is true for the vast vast majority of situations. Also, if there is bleeding, it will be alot blooder than you think can come out of 1 tiny hole! In other words, its a dislodged graft is something where you'll know it when you see it.
