Nw3 + diffuse pattern(help me figure out which one please), donor asessment

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I recently noticed some thinning on my crown and I've always had a receded hairline but recently I've hopped on fin and it seems as though a solid amount of density has left me. I'm hoping it's just shedding but I'd like to know more and be able to think about my plan moving forward.

Hoping you can give some input on my pattern, thanks!

Would also like an assessment on my donor, although I've been told in person it's "very high caliber" and 2000 would be comparable to 2500 regular.

Top of scalp photos taken under a bright light. I should also mention that at my consultation only slight miniaturization in the crown was mentioned.

Yep donor looks pretty good, and it maybe a little shedding. If you are starting to lose your hair it’s good you’re on top of it. What is your age, and do you have a front on hairline pic?

I’m nearly 25. Quite young although I’m all in with regards to medical treatment and aware that I may need to do bht in the worst case scenario. Although I may be overthinking it.

Cool! I think the more experienced guys will weigh in soon on the meds etc. Seen you are fairly young a 6 month to a year stabilization window with the meds is probably necessary for a solid assessment. Your hair looks healthy though.

At 24 and going by the pictures you have posted I would say that you are possibly having a shed from Finasteride (which means it is working). The same can happen with minoxidil. Stay the course as finasteride takes many months (as mentioned by @Eugenix Hair Sciences) and even longer to see the full benefits. I would not even consider a hair transplant. All the best!

That's reassuring to hear especially as I started minox at the same time but I discontinued it because it was giving my hair an awful texture and the risk it poses to my cats put me off. Oral minoxidil is on the table though and if I don't make much progress with fin+nizoral+needling I'd gladly take that instead.

So, I've already got my surgery date booked and my primary concern was framing my face as I have a very large forehead and I think I'd be happy with scarce coverage on my crown as a tradeoff for lowering the hairline a tiny bit. I think I'll be a little more conservative in that regard and perhaps add some density to the native hairs and keep the front around 40-45/cm^2.

Your inputs are well received and much appreciated, thank you!
